As of 3.0, and the return of King Varian to Stormwind, the Onyxia attunement will be lifted, thus making this achievement as simple as a Saturday evening.

Just solo'd her as of today, Dec. 28th 3:30 am MST. Level 80 Ret Paladin, Brightstar on Doomhammer, Partial 10 Naxx gear/Heroic Gear, wasn't too difficult actually, almost solo'd her when I was 70 but caught a bad Deep Breath and then instance got bugged (3.0 patch good times there to be had for all) and didn't go back to try again till now. Seal/Judge Wisdom kept my mana up just fine, Art of War proc heals for the most part. Nice 159 Gold in my pocket each week now. :)

I heard they nerfed the gold drop from Onyxia. Can anyone confirm that?

Now blizzard will be tuning this up for lvl 80s in patch 3.2.2, it will drop loot that has the same model as the lvl 60 loot (Like Naxx 40/Naxx 10/25 gear)

As of the Latest 3.2.2 PTR build (10357) this Achievement has been changed to a Feat of Strength, meaning anyone who had it before 3.2.2 will lose it when the patch goes live and have to earn the new version, now categorized under Lich King 10 and 25 man. It has also been removed as a criteria of Classic Raider.

So has this Feat of Strength been handed out already? I haven't seen anyone with it yet who I know earned it. I know I should have this as I did the original Onyxia raid way back in the day. I also have killed Onyxia and turned her head in (quest) since patch 3.1 even, and it shows as a statistic.

Yet, I do not have this... hm... time to open a ticket maybe?

I wonder if you would get credit for this now "impossible" to attain Feat of Strength by doing The Only Prescription which is doable with the level 80 version of Onyxia.

Does anyone think that owning one of the original Quel'serrar's should be a feat of strength? or at least doing the quest to obtain one...

In order to allow people to still obtain a full set of T2 armor, Nefarian now drops the old T2 helmets, in addition to the T2 chestpieces. As you can see above, having one of the old T2 helmets is one of the criteria for being awarded this feat of strength.

You can probably see where this is going. The person in our BWL group who won the roll for Helm of Wrath was promptly awarded the Onyxia's Lair (Level 60) feat of strength :-x

I got this today without ever having set foot anywhere near Onyxia's Lair. I completed A Proper String, which requires a Mature Black Dragon Sinew, which drops from Ony. But it also dropped from the first Flamescale Broodling I killed on my way up to Blackrock. I wasn't even trying. Of course, I'm pretty sure you can't get the Sinew without having the quest which you can't get until you get an item that drops from Ragnaros, so it's not like it's for nothing, but I thought it was noteworthy that the Feat can be achieved without actually achieving it.

They should have added an achievement for killing the level 60 version of Kel'Thuzad,since blizz recycled naxx to be a level 80 raid too.

if you dont have this achivement, there is a way to get it.. simply just go to BWL (Black Wing Lair) and kill nefarian... he also drop the lvl 60 helm that onyxia droped and if you get on of those helms (you dont need to equip it) the achivement is yours

This achievement is still aquireable for every class by doing the quest. It's a huge quest chain starting in Silithus for optaining some scepter which is used to open the Qiraji Gates. Got the achievement last week, everyone in guildchat was lauching :) Did the chain on my 80 warlock, still took me a week to complete it. A lot of research and a lot of walking... -.-

Got this today on my mage by completing "The Only Prescription". If you want it, you should do the same. Unsure if they will fix this in Cataclysm or not.

The chain starts with www.wowhead.com/cata/quest=8286

You also need to be (atleast) neutral with Brood of Nozdormu.

So, I rejoined the game after not having played since the first year of wow. I noticed my original 60 has this feat, but I know I never personally raided with him. concidering when I logged on he still had buffs from holidays 5 years ago. I doubt anyone played it after I quit, but still had time left. So, there might be some glitch related to giving this to all characters created prior to a specific date.
