Just did a quest in Southern Barrens for Alliance and got 82 rep for them. Sorry, forgot the quest :(.

Can anyone tell me when and where you can earn rep for this? I have done all the quest in the underwater starting area, all the quest givers are from this faction yet no quests give rep? Am I missing something?

~~i cant seem to build rep with this faction either, after doing the vash'jir quests like amadaholland89 stated. if someone could cover this (maybe its a bug?) , that would be great.~~

edit:

just done a couple more quests, one where you enter nespirah the sea creature and that gave some rep, and it appears the relative twilight highlands quests all give earthen ring rep also.

This was just hotfixed today (December 8) so the underwater zone quests now properly give rep. If you're like me, and have already cleared the entire zone, well, sucks to be us. :(

When do you stop getting rep for "The Earthen Ring" from Deepholm quests?
I'm at 65/125 of the quests for www.wowhead.com/cata/achievement=4871and they stoped giving rep. Do they start up again later?

I skipped Vashj'ir and went to Hyjal->Deepholm->Uldum->Twighlight (haven't finished twilight) and I'm honored with The Earthen Ring. Just more of an FYI. I imagine one could possibly be revered going back to Vashj'ir to complete all the quests, if not, really close.

Don't forget, guild perks play into your rep gains as well.

i have the same problem. i started questing hiyal -> deepholm -> uldum -> twilight highlands and i got some reputation in deepholm for the earthen ring. now i figured i'd go back to vashir to get more rep by doing the quests, but i didnt get any rep AT ALL doing the quests there. not even the quests given to me by the guys standing near the quartermaster gave rep..

is this a bug or is it intended? cause theres no point in doing vashir then if you dont get any rep

Absolutely nothing for a plate damage dealer, really sucks because I was gonna do all the quests in all the zones anyway...

Actually Guardians of Hyjal is the best faction to start grinding as a tank.

This is because of the Wrap of the Great Turtle and the DPS waist (Which is pretty good for tanks as well, the only unwanted stat is crit and even then that benefits a tank I s'pose.) Belt of the Ferocious Wolf gemmed obviously with something like Solid Zephyrite because at least in our AH they are dirt cheap.

EDIT: Also you could reforge some of the crit into something useful like hit.

You wont find a better tanking cape or belt inside HCs.

Having just reached 85 today and straight away having two epics is pretty good. My next grind will probably be The Earthen Ring. =)

Just an FYI regarding rep in Vashjir that I haven't seen anyone say yet:

Some people have reported not getting rep and think that the zone is bugged. But, if you check the quest list, you'll see that there are only small clusters of quests in this zone that give Earthen Ring rep: the first few quests in Kelp'thar Forest, then the quest series about Nespirah in Shimmering Expanse, then the quests at the end of the zone at the Abyssal Maw.

All these quests together are approximately 4200 rep - which will only take you to partway through Friendly. That's not a bug, it's just all there is here.

To progress further, you need to do the quests in Deepholm and Twilight Highlands and/or run lvl 85 normal or heroic dungeons with the tabard equipped.

Vash'jir
Mount Hyjal
Deepholm
Uldum
Twiligh Highlands (with "King of the mountain")
with 3 normal dungeons wearing ER tabard (random normal - GB, LCoT, TSC)
a got revered (3557 of 21000) reputation with them.

There's no daily, weekly quests for them, so it gonna be a long way.

Keep in mind that as a Scribe youll have a very nice Shoulder Enchant without Grinding this Faction.

Actually Guardians of Hyjal is the best faction to start grinding as a tank.

A Feral Tank might actually disagree with You here. ;)

BUT Bears may want to grind Hyjal to Honored for Sly Fox Jerkin and
Earthen Ring to Exhalted for Signet of the Elder Council anyways. ^^

The answer to the rep question is on this page. Click Quests and you will see the 105 quests that award ER rep. If you want the best bang for the buck, sort it by rep gain.

Some of the later Quests in Twilight give Earthen Ring rep (shortly after finishing Wildhammer Rep Quest line).

If youre starting now, I recommend using the tabard to increase reputation with earthen ring first, because it does not have any dailies.

On the other hand, Therazane and Dragonmaw have about 5 dailies each, and you will probably do them some times to get money, and you get rep too.

I am farming earthen ring reputation as the last one, and Im still doing dragonmaw and therazane dailies even not gaining any reputation, I think I shouldnt have used these two factions tabard, and used earthen ring instead, so now I would be exalted with all of them.

The quickest way to get friendly with Earthen Ring is to do the quests up the where you meet the Goblin Shaman in Vashj'r, and then travel to Deepholm and do the quests there.

Do the quest in Stonecore too, as that gives 500 rep.

Quartermaster is located in Silver Tide Hollow, Vashj'ir. To those who read lore, it is notable that this was assumed to become a faction.
Overall very nice exalted rewards for healers, a good faction especially for Holy Paladins due to the 346 cloak/chest and 359 gloves.
Rep for this faction is spread out among zones of the Cataclysm, and it is speculated the quartermaster is located in Vashj'ir because it has no specific faction or dailies. Rep is mostly gained in Deepholm, Twilight Highlands, and Vashj'ir; however there are misc. quests in many locations that grant rep.

Save these guys for last! Nothing to earn from them at all. Only thing they have is tanking enchant and holy pally gear.

I don't know why this was down rated. Honestly, you get better loot from every other faction.

To make finding the quests I needed to pick up easier, I did a little filtering:

Sorted by Database > Quests ~~> The Maelstrom~~
-Increases reputation with... The Earthen Ring
--and then sorted by required level so I know when I can pick up each quest as I level.

When leveling i didnt do the quest to this Zone so i dont have a portal now at lvl 85. Any suggestions how to get to the Zone so the portal opens?looked everywhere for some tips...

If you are a Warrior (or Paladin) tank or DPS, there is no reason to grind this beyond getting to revered for the head enchant (tanks), or honored (DPS). None of the other equipment is useful to you after honored. The only reason to grind this would be if you are looking to finish of all the Cata reps.

You can also do the quests in Vashj'ir and net more rep than the quests in Deepholm.

In fairness, this wasn't the case at the time that comment was written. There was a really nasty bug at Cataclysm launch where Horde players basically didn't get Earthen Ring rep for the vast majority of Vashj'ir quests, when we should have, because quest givers that were tagged Earthen Ring weren't actually flagged with the faction. My main finished Vashj'ir on launch night and couldn't even get out of neutral. It didn't get fixed for quite some time either, even though Blizzard claimed to have hot fixed it that first week. Depending on when you leveled your Horde toon, you might well end up with more rep from Deepholm quests than from Vashj'ir.
