The Set Above is the lvl 70 paladin PvP retribution set. It costs the same amount of Honor and tokens as the other lvl 70 pvp sets and is a more suitable choice rather than getting the lvl 60 epic pvp set.

This set with the PVP epic scalled items seems pretty strong.

Edit: By the way, the stamina gaven by this set is amazing.

Simply put, pre-Gladiator's Vindication, this is by far the best gear available for retro pallies that I can find. A few other pieces may have some better stats, but those items drop in heroic dungeons, and there's little to nothing that's heroic-caliber other than this set to even GET those items. IMO: Get this set, use this set in arena fights, upgrade to gladiator's vindication. Of course, keep the general's scaled bracers/boots/belt to go with it =)

After the patch that reduced the cost on PvP items, I think the total honor cost for the whole set is 81,000, rather than 101250.

Like one of the people who commented earlier said, this really is the best gear for ret pallys until t4 or arena. This I think even beats out the heroic stuff that looks like the re-colored Lawbringer set.

This set is currently removed from the game, however in patch 2.4 will reintroduce the blue 70 PvP set. The set will be able to be purchased for gold at various BC factions (this is nice for new alts getting into PvP).

With the set bonus and the talent Imp. HoJ in Prot, the cooldown on HoJ is only 35 seconds. OP?

Stun 6 sec, Repentance 6 sec, bubble 12 sec, and that's 24 seconds of inability to damage the Paladin.
11 seconds of hitting it until the second HoJ goes off. :<

I find it a tad silly that these are only a few stats from being the epic gladiator set.

PvP is about Casual players now. Which is why the Arena gear is there. Gladiator weapons and armor blow the PVP sets out of the water on every level - stats, bonuses, armor, you name it. Also, with Arena, you only get points if you have a winning record. If you're a noob, or even a casual player, you won't get any points, or it will take a rediculously long time to get enough points to get one item, much less a set.

Gladiator indeed is better but not huge stats as some ppl say : 23 more strength equal to 11,5 more damage, 22 critical rating around 1,1% critical strike more, 220 health more and 1000 more armor which at lvl 70 means around 2% more.

Anyway, because of sockets is indeed much better that Grand Marshal, but not huge stats...lol

I will get both because for my collection:D

It's a nice set, the big thing that bothers me though, That it lacks any MP5. Sure, I am getting a few from sockets, but still :S All the scaled things don't seem to have any MP5 at all. It seems all the PvP gear for pallies don't seem to have MP5, quite sad. The Epic pvp gear from 60 did have MP5, I wonder why they removed it. I mean, more MP5 is better for BGS some fights tend to take long. And everyone knows that a pally lives or dies with his mana pool.

Can anyone with this set tell me if it's good in BGs?

The only PvP set with mana per 5 sec is the druid one and the lether healing gear....however they do not recieve crit from their items like every other class. MP5S is a PvE usage not a BG in particular. Also PvP items are designed so you have alot HP and a moderate-high Mana

Are Grand Marshal's items even available anymore (as of 2.3)? I don't see them in the Hall of Champions. Gladiator gear is the same cost as these used to be.

Yes True that they can have it to 35sec, but that is your prablem not theirs, if they know how to spec and gear, and Repentence does Incapitate them for 6 sec, but if they take any damage at all its interupted.
