This staff is a strong competitor against the Bloodfire Greatstaff dropped by Aeonus in Dark Portal/Black Morass. The difference in them is that this one provides more +spell hit, while the other offers more stam, int, and +spell crit.

If you have some +spell hit in your gear already, chances are the other staff will serve you better. If you have little to none, though, this staff is a boon.

I prefer runesong dagger (https://www.wowhead.com/cata/item=27868) + Hortus' Seal of Brilliance (https://www.wowhead.com/cata/item=27534). Both acquirable in Hellfire: Shattered Halls.

Overall: -7 sta, -7 int, -16 hit rating, -6 crit rating but on the other hand +23 dmg/heal. Better choice for shadow priest with 5/5 shadow focus already adding +10% to hit.

This is a nice staff for transmog! This staff does not show the power torrent enchant which I really like.

Staff is really friggan pissing me off.

I've ran Bot 23 friggan times and Warp Splinter hasn't dropped it yet.

I've ran it so many times I actually have 5 Primal Nethers from non heroic...

Sigh, vendor buy and sell price doesn't mean the item can be bought. If it is vendor sold it will tell you the vendor and his location where you now see the boss who drops this.

This is a really good item, edges out alot of other level 70 blue staffs.

This staff dropped off Warp Splinter in The Botanica. Was working on Arcatraz keying. Warrior, Rogue, Shadow Priest, Holy Priest, Feral Druid. First attempt, one attempt. I was the shadow priest and rolled need. Holy priest passed to me. Very nice upgrade from the Battle Mage's Baton.

Just got this myself, Warlock.

Better in my opinion than Bringer of Death and Bloodfire Greatstaff, superior itemisation points to both and the extra +hit is good for any spellcaster.

All in all, not a bad staff to tide you over to Karazhan.

I think this staff has a higher drop rate than what is stated above. I've ran Botanica over 6 times and I have seen it drop at least 4 times. Maybe it's just dumb luck... But whatever it is, I'm in love with it :D

think 'd take this over Bloodfire Greatstaf also for my Elemental Shaman. Altho it drops a bit of crit, you gotta hit b4 u can crit. For the minimal drop in int/stam/crit, the + to hit surely makes up 4 it.

Got it this night on a guildrun for the kara prequest. I like it a lot. Good upgrade from battle mage's batton

Wow, This is an amazingly good staff. I would go for The Bringer of Death but it's a little pricy. Though the stats are a bit higher but the Bringer of Death has a more crit chance on it. I like the glow of this staff and where does it drop? =)

I so want this for my Balance Druid! >_< It's a great staff for a caster (who usually does back-up healing in instances).
