This wand is quite good for my FFB specced mage, and almost any other casters would love it as well. goodluck on getting it, the boss it drops from can be very annoying.

Moderately easily obtainable and currently the 3rd highest DPS ranked wand for a FFB Mage from a Heroic instance - the 2 above this are in 25man Naxx from Grobbulus & Anub'Rekhan so a nice upgrade for most pre-raiding casters.

Hands down the best wand for crit-based classes / specs that can use a wand (i.e. FFB mages).

It is however difficult to obtain because heroic AN is still regarded as one of the more difficult heroics to complete so people usually avoid it in simple emblem-runs. However tanks are easy to find as Essence of Gossamer, a very good tanking trinket, drops here too.
Get a group, hope you don't have competition, hope the first boss doesn't bug out and hope you win the roll. It's worth it.

EDIT: I am talking, of course, about pre-raid content.

No kidding to all above grips regarding drops . . . fair enuf that it may take a few runs to get what your after but would be nice if blizz made boss drops to at least be usable to someone in the party. Sure is annoying to see items drop that either people already have or stuff made for a class type not in the party.

By far the best wand you can get up until 25mans. Has a decent drop rate (roughly 20%) and chances are you won't have too much competition in your party to get it as not many classes can use it. It lasts for a long while.

I have to say that the drop rate is nowhere near 20%. Before I had a wand-using class, I was running heroic AN every day for a long time because a warlock needed the item in question. Contortion in Naxxramas dropped long before this thing ever fell from An00b's bowels.
