The road that runs south from the stable, next to the farm, up to the gates of Havenshire, is a good place to try to acquire this. Citizens run past in ones and twos. This may be strictly anecdotal but I've only ever gotten the pitchfork to drop from the citizens dressed as farmers.

The citizens have a chance to Enrage, and if you pull them in groups you might not survive more than two or three.

It doesn't matter, it's still a polearm and therefore still no useable untill level 20

Man, i remember on my first DK, all my weapons broke and I forgot to fix 'em. So i had to improvise with this at the Battle for Light's Hope XD

This cannot be used for transmogrification so don't bother farming.

Other (original Wrath) commenters mention wanting these for appearance, but I created a Death Knight and completed the phased questlines until you have Citizens of Havenshire running up the hill to New Avalon (easy to farm them as they approach the New Avalon gates) for a different reason:

It was an easy way to get one of the few fast polearms for training up that skill for any toon quickly (you can still use the abandoned mailbox in the village to mail it to alts). With 2.10 speed, you'll have the skill levelled quickly. There are other fast training weapons available from vendors, but most have higher level requirements - whereas this one has no level requirement at all, making it suitable for 20+ lowbies.
