This is the Collectors-Edition only pet.
It looks like a small frost wyrm.

After you have successfully upgraded your account for Wotlk all of your characters will have this companion in their mailbox.

After you have learned to summon it, it will remain in your inventory. You can put it on the bank or send it to your other characters.

He has got a unique "click" sound and is now one of my favourite pets. His and my deathknights skin fit together perfectly.

Once you have purchased WoTLK Collectors Edition, All of your ingame characters will have this little pet mailed to them, and you can learn it for your collection.

Once you've learnt it, it seems to stay in your bags which can be banked or mailed to any other character if you wish.. just a waste of space imo ;p - however, any new characters you make or login to will also have this in there mailbox, so it's not 1 character or 1 server specific, every character on every server can have one.

there must have been some wyrm nip on that old rope leash i found
cause when i placed it round his neck, he began to spin around

and the collectors say he will come and play when you buy a wrath CE

So worth getting the WotLK Collector's Edition for this little guy! Probably my favorite Non-Combat Pet in WoW because he is just too darn cute! Every time you click on him, he makes a little roar. This pet flying along side with a DK looks awesome!

As of 3.0.8, both Frosty and the Netherwhelp pet from BC CE have had their sizes reduced. He still has his click sound and is awesome. He's simply not so huge as to get in the way of the screen anymore.

It is smaller and flying pets still fly very low to the ground. Hmmmmmmm. I hope Biscuits still work as well and not have the bigger version smaller as well.

On the Good side it doesn't get in the way during combat.

The icon is changed in patch 3.1 to a unique one apart from the Netherwing whelp.

Pretty worthless now it's be shrunk to nothing. I'd be gutted if I'd bought a CE.

Frosty now flies higher and grew back to become bigger once again! Go Frosty!

I got this after it was nerfed so it seems. He still looks tiny and in my opinion the body with the glow looks like one big blob of blue.

This pet is the WotLK version of the BC collector's edition pet,Netherwhelp's Collar.

I got mine recently and when I created a new chara i got Frosty in the mail (as to be expected).
I got the Frosty achievement, and the Can I Keep Him achievement,
but he doesn't count towards my Pet count (it stays at 0/0 for the next Pet achievement).

Is this a glitch or intentional?

Definally my favorite pet. Accompanied many adventures and good moments and looks very fresh and cool.
Also fits the feel of WotLK and Death Knights very nicely. :D

..actually, if you mean in terms of the old stories, a wyrm was a wingless, legless dragon. Sometimes ancient, and sometimes just the breed. They liked to live in wells, frequently.

There's no info given here on whether it's a drop, or sold by some vendor, or what. I saw a lvl 8 Tauren with one so I'm wondering how it could be BoP unless it's either sold by a vendor or a drop from a low-lvl mob.

I clicked the collar and it just says you already know how to summon frosty!
Where do I find the pets to click on to summon them ?

They were moved to the character screen, to the Pet tab.
