If you want to save money before expansion don't bother with the last 25 skill ups this will get you there and with a load of cloth to boot.

Interesting that with each type of cloth, the number of pieces-per-bolt was going up as the cloth-level rose. This was as high as 6 netherweave-per-bolt (until last patch when it was reduced to only 5). Apparently Blizz likes 5 better, since a bolt of Frostweave will require only 5 cloth.

It's a really good money make for tailor too. On my server, you can sell a stack of Frostweave cloth for around 24G99S, wich make it okay, but you can sell a stack of Bolt for 200G (wich require 100 Frostweave cloth).

Stack of Frostweave cloth : 25G / 20 cloth = 1,25G per cloth
Stack of Bolt of Frostweave cloth : 200G / 100 cloth = 2G per cloth

It make it really interesting to make some money as a tailor :)

Since Frostweave Cloth is very abundantly available, AH prices tend to be very low. Note that although the vendor price of a stack of cloth is only 2.5g, that stack can also be turned into 4 bolts and then vendored for 4g.

Go ahead and buy any frostweave on AH for less that 4g per stack (20s each) for a quick and easy profit to the vendor.

You need 100 Frostweave Cloth (or 5 stacks) to make a stack of Bolt of Frostweave.

If you need Infinite Dust, I've been making Frostwoven Belt and have had a good amount from them.

While that may have been true pre-cataclysm (low AH prices), the price of frostweave these days is more than 50g/stack on my server.

One reason is that many of the mobs that commonly dropped all of the time were nerfed. I have seen reports of non-tailors farming for almost an hour and getting barely anything at all, with the exception of an level 80 area in Icecrown, which is fine if a level 85 wants to do this and tackle those groups, 5 at a time, but my level 75 rogue is out of luck there. Another reason is that with the large amount of gold dropping for level 85 (dailies and randoms), the AH economy has changed. (It is not uncommon to see grear going for 30,000g or more).

However, I have discovered that while non-tailors (people without the extra talent to get an additional piece of cloth or two) are complaining about places, like Shalozar Basin, that used to be a great place for farming and now drops hardly anything at all, that because I do have the extra cloth talent as a tailor (which I got from a blue book that dropped from a normal instance when I hit level 75), I still do get drops in nerfed areas. Not tremendous, but for my level 75 to grind level 75-77 NPCs for cloth, getting XP and about 1 drop per kill on the average, it's not so bad.

It sure beats paying 50g for a stack of cloth on AH!
