Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like falling into the water in Thousand Needles will be a lot less frustrating then you would otherwise think.

Just summon this if you fall in and you might be able cruise along the water's surface at an increased speed. Very good idea on Blizzard's part.

It's supposed to help those low levels in thousand needles that can't fly yet, otherwise would be terrible to swim all around Thousand Needles (which should be renamed Thousand Islands, as it's completely flooded)

Love this thing definatly better than swiming. It also has a bit of a festive feeling with the cristmass lights, still this items a keeper.

I have a druid that for some reason glitches ... you can tell its going to glitch by a hesitation when he is jumping in the boat I have yet to find a way to stop this and it does not matter what form I am in, it is super annoying

Edit: Confirmed, Rizzorian was right, the original NPC does give you it back if you delete it.

this is a seriously cool item and they should really allow it to be used out of thousand needles. It's soooo much fun to run around driving your own boat it's amazing^^

I really hope blizzard makes this a multi-person mount....I would love to have like 10 of my friends crusin' along in my river-boat, heck it would be nice for RP also. I would also like if they let you park it, so you could just wander around the boat for awhile, fish for abit. That would be fun. XD

Hilariously, any form a druid takes can pilot the boat. Although this doesn't work as well with some (particularly the bear, who's head goes -into- the ship's wheel and past it a bit) as others like the Cat.

Don't know if this issue affects anyone else but the only way I can get off the boat is by clicking off the buff this item gives. So I created a simple macro to mount / dismount and supress the error that pops up when mounting.

There are so many mithril deposits here that you probably won't use the boat. It takes too long to swim from the boat to the surface when travelling.

Also: it seems to me that running on the sea floor and mounting are the same speed.

Can't get this to work. The boat appears for a second, I go up in the air, then the boat disappears and I go 20 feet underwater. This happen for anyone else? it glitched?

I'm surprised no one else has thought maybe blizz should let Engineers build a multi-person river boat that can be used anywhere.

Oh well, perhaps when they introduce real aquatic mounts.

Please note that as this is a vehicle and not a mount, several traits of mounts do not apply. For example, the boat will not sway from side to side the way a mount would, were you to get severely intoxicated and go sailing.

Not that I've, uh... *cough* ...tested this... too extensively, or anything.

1. How fast does this thing actually go? coz if the speed display of the char screen is right, a druid is better of with aqua form

I accidentally "drove" on the land, which then caused me to be unable to dismount the boat. I had to log out and back in to get off the boat. I don't know if anyone else has had this issue, just sharing an experience.

I've done this quest twice before and was able to dismount by driving up on land, but not now. I get stuck in boat mode and can't do anything but move around. Can't even see what's attacking me.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned this yet: I can ride this boat on land! lol, no kidding! Just ride it up to a shoreline and keep moving forward, you will ride on land... Can't believe Blizzard missed a glitch like this.

Doesn't happen all the time though. It seems like the issues are related, if you can't leave the boat then it will allow you to drive on land.

Relogging fixes the problem, but you usually lose progress on where you were travelling to as if you DC'd or something.

Seriously bugged.It works,I get in but the problem is I can't get out,then hafta relog/reboot.Then when I log back in,I'm right back where I was when I got in the boat,didn't go anywhere,much like when the server crashes.
Better off just swimming.Not sure what affects the operation.This occurs on my cow pal.
Just a update,was on my cow pal 6-8-11 and it was working properly.So not sure if it was a Blizz bug that's been fixed or a procedural thing but all's good now! :)

Well, I don't know about all the bugs that others have posted, but the mounting bug is still in effect. Nothing I try can allow me to get on the boat. Not the pointing the camera, not the macro, not walking on land and then getting back in the water. :( Frustrating. I still have a ton of quests here, and my toon is only 45 atm. :( Maybe the bugs will be fixed in 4.3. Not holding my breath though.

Really, the most important problem with this has yet to be addressed:
How do you manage to keep an entire boat in your backpack? It'd be one thing if it were a magic boat or something, but this looks like any ol' boat.
"Whelp, seems like I ought to move along some. May as well take out my magically growin' and shrinkin' boat out for a ride."

I move at 286% running speed while in the boat (I do have Mount Up guild perk and Expert Riding is my highest riding skill, but I do not know if those effects the river boat speed). Someone mentioned running on the ocean floor, and that speed is 160% for me. Mounted on the ocean floor is at normal mount speed.
