As of 2.3, Shaman's now benefit spell damage from AP, a fully twinked out 49 Shaman can reach upwards of 850 AP, meaning roughly 250 spell damage. If the proc on this is correct, 91-125 at a 1.6 cast time (actualy cast time of 0 sec) it would benefit from 42.86% of Spelldamage meaning it would hit on average for 215. Not a bad Proc imo, and possibly could out DPS Bonesnapper in the long run. Once i get it i will check proc rates.

What is the proc rate on this guy? Is it worth it using this mace > Bonesnapper https://www.wowhead.com/cata/item=13027 for a 49 twink just b/c the proc? I barely have enough xp to complete this chain of quests so I'd appriciate the advice to save me the xp if a mace from the AH is equal or better than this 1.

edit: bone snapper has same dps, damage range but 3more strength(adds more dps than this) and 5 sta, and 50hp is never bad, so this proc has to happen a heck of a lot to make this the best 49 twink weapon imo. any1 have proc watch data?

This post is mainly target'd towards my rogue, who is Sub. atm, with bloodrazor and doomforged, but i would like to maybe respec to combat maces, or just mess around with some and stay Sub. if any1 has proc watch data, pls post it so i can decide whether or not to do quest or get AH mace. thx

Too bad it is an alliance quest only. I would have liked to try and see the difference between this and Ribsplitter (of the Bear) that I believe is even better than Bonesnapper. I have both and my orc shammy prefers Ribsplitter (of the Bear) with Potency which I am using with Smashing Star (of the Monkey) with Crusader. I haven't found a better combination yet I could put my hands on...

As of 1/15/2008, I can confirm that the lightning bolt proc on this weapon will consume one charge of stormstrike, though it does not seem to benefit from the extra 20% that nature attacks are supposed to benefit from.

Would it be worth taking this in the mainhand over thrash blade, rather than taking a thrash blade mainhand and other offhand? This is in terms of a fury warrior, as the thrash blade proc gives a more significant dps boost than this proc.

Well... Lets see, this item can be obtained at level 40...Or atleast that is what it says (all the quests req level 40.) But anyways,
if you even aren't even planning on twinking its a great weapon to have a friend help you get and level with.

The two quests in the chain preceding this, The Divination and Return to the Hinterlands, both require level 41.

Procrate is horrible. I did about 800 swings as a fury build on my 48 war, against 50-52 undead in EPL, I got a grand total of 6 procs, 4 of which got resisted.

Definetly not a worthwhile weapon.

It seems Blizzard is hating on 40-49 dual wielding Shamans. If you're a rogue or warr, your offhand in 49 BG can have max damage of 124, and as on the Thrash Blade, you get an extra swing anyway (nevermind the Sword spec for both of those classes). However, there are NO Axes, Maces, or Fist weapons from req lvl 40-49 with speeds over 2.3. If you get a req lvl 40 mace, you can have max damage of 91 (Wirt's Third Leg) and a nice boost to agility, or if you get the other lvl 40 required lvl mace, Ulda Firehammer drop, it's a max of 89 with an elemental dmg proc. At req lvl 48 you can get a 1.9spd Axe with the same top end 89 damage, but no ele proc. Either way, the best offhand shaman weapon for 40-49 is ~30 damage lower than the equiv sword for other dual wielding classes. Are Shamans with stormstrike that much more dangerous at lvl 40-49 that they need such an offhand handicap?

Get the hammer, vendor it, buy epic weaps, buy some legs and get a leg enchant on them. IMHO.

Vendoring the hammer would be useless you would get like 5g MAX. so.... your an idiot. I would say get the hammer, theres not to many better maces for a good pvp macespec rouge:)
