"All around the area of the Zepplin Crash (53.1, 56.5) are the oozes. When you are near an active power core fragment (and are energized) you can use your Ooze Buster which immediately dissolves the oozes. The power core fragment right by where you get the quest is always on, and the ones in the surrounding area turn off and on every 30 secondsish."

The method of changing targets after starting the channel to dissolve a different ooze still works in 4.0.3.

In addition to the Gadgetzan reputation, this quest also gives 125 reputation with Booty Bay, Everlook, and Ratchet.

It does not hurt your Bloodsail Buccaneer reputation either.

Tag the ooze before using the buster so you can get kill XP and loot the bodies.

Just thought I'd throw this in there. I was just doing this quest right now, and getting annoyed because it wasn't working for me. I figured it was because the electrical charge kept hitting my pet instead of me, so I had to dismiss it. Did the quest without any problems after that.

You don't need to damage the mob or lower its health.
When you get the energy buff from the totems use the quest item on Ooze,

DON'T MOVE, let you character finish casting...

I was able to get this quest at lvl 80 with no pre-req's, in fact it was my first time in the area on that toon lol.

I was after the tunic reward as it's one of few decent ORANGE leather chest pieces.

[Just look at this area! It's swarming with oozes. If I don't find some way to keep them under control, they'll corrode the wreckage and the zeppelin's cargo!

This device, when powered, will concentrate energy on the slimes, causing them to explode. The zeppelin's fragmented power core should power the device. The one near the main crash works all the time, but the others flicker on and off.]
