It is no longer possible to use all the charges on the Purified Moonwell Water at a single brazier for the quest "Dousing the Flames of Protection.

From the new patch 4.0.3a which fixes the leading bugs of the game.

The braziers are spread throughout Shadow Hold, entrance at 36.58.

The quest item remained in my bags after completing this quest. It seems it can be safely destroyed after turning in the quest, it has no other uses.

I missed the Brazier of Pain, it's right infront of the first prince (as if the prince were looking at it).

The first one is in the first room, where the prince is. The 2nd is just up the stairs. The 3rd is in the room with a small pond of water, and yeah, the 4th aswell.

For those of us who are blind, the 3rd room is around the back behind the prince.

Up the ramp that winds around behind him from his left, there's a small area with a couple of mobs, and it looks like it ends there, but turn to your right and you should see the opening to the rest of the cave.

The rest of the quest chain is easy once you head down that path so Good luck. :)

This quest is part of a family of quests in this same cave complex.

Kill anything in the cave for The Inner Circle and make sure to check for braziers for Dousing the Flames of Protection while going through the cave. Along the way you'll go through this chain killing named mobs:
The Demon Prince
Twin Temptresses
Shadow Lord Fel'dan
Lord Banehollow

After you're all done, there's a port out to the quest givers, and then you pick up The Fate of Bloodvenom Post to move on with the zone.

Enter the tunnel into Shadow Hold, and follow it through the underground passageways. Douse each of the brazier's flames and the protections the Council has set up will fall for at least a short period of time.]
