I don't believe this is a waste of a trinket spot. It has saved me on many occasions, and the extra shield I'm sure gets on people's nerves a lot in PvP. It gives about 3 extra seconds to get off another cast or hit, which could most definitely turn the tables in any situation.

I just got this trinket about 15 minutes ago from a Tar Lord in Un'Goro Crater. I tried to get it to proc by fighting a mob with fists and putting my pet on passive, and had no luck so I decided to just go about my usual questing. The trinket proc'd on the very next mob and then TWICE on the one after that. This may be a waste of a trinket slot for melee classes, but 15 seconds to cast without interruption is a hell of a useful trinket for my 56 lock :)

This is actually a very nice tanking trinket for a paladin! Paladins don't mind having damage shields (it interferes with rage generation on druids/warriors), and with 5 mobs hitting on you, it procs quite regulary. It's also good for the famed "paladin prot AoE grinding".

IMO a nice thing for its level.

My pala uses it along with with Truesilver Champion (https://www.wowhead.com/classic/item=7960) which has a similar effect, and altogether they proc pretty often saving my health (and time:) while grinding.

A funny moment. Another paladin grinded in the same area and he whispered me how could I use Divine Protection without cooldown:)).

I'm pretty sure (at least the one I got) it gives 200-250ish absorb any physical damage taken.

I looted this trinket off a ghost on the frozen lake in Winterspring last night. It absorbs about 4-5 hits from the ghosts, whatever amount of damage that adds up to.

I like the glowie effect of the shield surrounding you. It gives me that warm, fuzzy feeling inside.

You know if you click on uther's strength's effect then it will show you what uther's light effect does...so dont ask how much damage it absorbs, just check it out

I got this in an AQ War Efforts box today, just thought i'd Confirm it does not stack with My Power Word Shield, when i casted shield it over rode the proc.

Not sure what would happen if it procced whilst PW:S was up

For super high level people with 1+ year subscription this might be a junk trinket.

But for mid-high level players playing their very first character, this is definitaly NOT JUNK. Its a super nice trinket!

Surely there are better trinket out there, but most of them are drops from uber legacy final bosses which you can not solo unless you have tons of friends and part of a large guild. While the other best trinkets are very rare drops which mean you will most likely never loot during you lifetime unless youre a farmer.

For the normal casual players who don't have a chance to raid uber dungeons, this Uther strenght trinket is lootable from random and does a great job when it proc. it can roc 3 times in row during one combat. Sometime it doesnt proc.. so the average is somewhere to 1.5 times every fight.

The shield last about 10 sec which is A LOT anyway, considering a fight usually last 15 to 30 sec. Since it only takes about 20 sec to kill normal mobs, if it proc then you won't receive too much damage half of the fight.

I have paired it with Guardian Talisman Trinket (obtainable from a quest in Plaguelands) and Uther's strenght is far more efficient and proc far more often than Guardian Talisman.

Lastly, its cool for any melee class to have that shields glowing bubble when the trinket proc. It makes you kinda special.

Damage absorbed is 250, not 200. And this absorbs physical and magical attacks. It tells you when damage is absorbed, and if the damage dealt is greater than the shield strength, it tells you exactly how much damage is absorbed. 250 damage every time.

Whoever said this wasn't useful to level 60's, I disagree! I'm a level 60 paladin in raiding alliance that has BWL on farm and is currently on Twin Emperors in AQ40. I picked one of these up off the Auction House as soon as they patched it to be BoE, as I'd always looked for the drop before that.

I use this as part of certain specific armor sets for certain fights, Princess Huhuran being one of them. It's bought me a reprieve at least twice in that battle. I also use it - as was mentioned above - when grinding any kind elites, which is a situation that seems to set it off a lot.

Just yesterday, I was tanking Templars in Silithus for a mage friend who was trying to use up her Twilight sets, and on the way across the south camp to one of the windstones, we ran smack into the Prophet and her buddies. I don't know if they spawned on top of us or just did not load fast enough, but suddenly we were in the middle of them. We weren't at full health or mana, since we'd just fought an elite Twilight add.

I started using every trick I had to gather them up while the mage aoe'd, but since we were caught off guard, things were chaotic and aggro was ping-ponging around.

Well, we both played it pretty well, but it was Uther's Strength that tipped the battle in our favour - a very welcome triple proc of the trinket gave me the time to get off a few much-needed heals uninterrupted (I'd already used my Divine Shield earlier in the fight). I fully believe I would have gone down in that fight to the adds if this trinket hadn't proc'ed.

A druid friend of mine bought one of these and declared it "useless" shortly after (and maybe for her playstyle, it was), but I plan on holding on to mine for a long time. I love it!

i just bought one on the AH for 20g on laughing skull. i'll see how well it works for my rogue. hopefully it really does completely absorb the hit that procs it like someone else said.

Was killing felpaws up north to get rep with Timbermaws solo and it dropped. Like someone said before there were times when it seems like it was more than a 2% chance, but sometimes its horrid. Was just lucky I guess. I think it was a shaman, happened yesterday. Replaced my nifty stopwatch trinket.

I got extremely lucky and found mine in the solid chest in Darrowshire. Didn't even have a reason to be there at the time. I was just exploring, found the chest, and was happy :)

Found it in Tyrs Hand and thought, yes!, my rogue is lvl 50 this would be great, continued farming, got to orgrimmar and realised its soulbound = gg, small brilliant shard ftw!

found this item in a mithril box dropped in un'Goro crater and as long as you dont remove item from box you can sell it in the box, you just trade box with item in it. I sold it for 23 gold. Would like to know if anyone else ahs sold it and ho wmuch they got.

Dropped yesterday for me on Felstone-Field while helping a hunter with the lord there. Very nice for my tanking outfit.

It lasts 12 seconds and absorbs 200 damage while you have normal attack speed and abilities. Made a series of tests and proc rate seems to be 2% like stated.

I got this off of a Slavering Ghoul in Western Plaguelands. Wasn't looking for it, just grinding and getting scourge stones and bam. Lucky me. It's saved my ass a few times in PVP from damn rogues trying to gank me. BS, Shield and then I fear em hehe. I'm sure they're like WTF?

Found this little number off of a Black Dragonspawn or Black Wyrmkin, when I was grinding in Burning Steppes. According to the percentage drops, I'm pretty damn lucky.

It seems like a useful trinket, but it doesn't match it's level. The level requirement is 47, and absorbing up to 250 damage, (last I heard) at level 47, isn't really useful for anything besides cloth wearers, and there are dozens of trinkets better for them.

I found this off of a Black Dragonspawn or Black Wyrmkin in the Burning Steppes, when I was grinding.

This item used to be bind on pickup, but since 1.11, it is now bind on equip. If it were of a lower level, this would make a superb twink trinket.

I'm thinking it gives more than 250...It has to be in order to require level 47.

I'm selling it, since my twinks can't use it, and my mains have better trinkets. However, I'm not too sure on how much to sell it for.

This trinket absorbs all damage and spell effects! There isn't like a minimum that it absorbs.. it absorbs everything. At least for me. And this thing goes off like mad. Ive had to for a day and through grinding and instances it goes off once or twice almost every single battle. As a pally, this is nice because i don't need to use my other 2 bubbles. This is like divine shield, i can attack while bubbled. I love it. I have found that i am even able to tackle larger mobs and harder instances while equipped with this. The 12 sec bubble that it provides gives me an extra chance to heal during a long battle with 3 or 4 elites that are close to my level.. and trust me that counts. Also it leaves my divine shield open for an addition bubble for healing/blessing. It's great. Best damn trinket i have found yet. And for 50g.. it's a steal. When your dueling or pvping and you are facing a particularly hard foe and this goes off it helps! Between this, my two bubbles and the option of stun, and also the option of using a healing pot - I have found that I can do a whole lot more. This is gonna stay equipped on my guy for a while.

If you dont know what the effect does simply use the link on the item - It will tell you that the effeck is 200 damage absorb, spells does not brake from physical damage and it last for 15 sec...

I found this while questing in the EW, I was there for perhaps 6 minutes and working on killing a Plaguehound Runt when it dropped off it. I didn't know what I had picked up because I was attacked by 2 more mobs before I had the chance to look. I nearly peed myself. It appears to absorb a certain amount of damage but I do not know how much exactly. It works just like the Paladin immunity that annoys so many of us Horde. I am not sure if it will proc in PVP as it didn't proc when I tested it against another clan member in a Duel. Perhaps it just didn't meet the 2% required.

This item's proc currently absorbs 250 points of damage; it may have been reduced in a patch from the 500 prior posters observed. I confirmed today; from the time the item proc'd to the shield disolving, I absorbed first one full melee hit (~45 average damage from the mob), then a portion of one DD spell (203 damage reported absorbed in the combat chat window).

For Warriors wondering, the shield works like the Priest bubble - you are still able to deal damage, and the bubble does not affect aggro like the Pally bubble would.

FTR, the trinket dropped from one of the non-elite green whelps in Sunken Temple.

I've seen it absorb 251 damage twice in a row so I think it absorbs 500 points of physical damage per shielding.

Very handy for any class.

This dropped from a Bloodpetal Flayer in Ungoro for me.. whats wierd is its BOP.... As if i don't already have enough trinkets as a Gnomish Engineer.. Doh! Just add this to my many trinkets in my bags taking up space, but this one will go to good use and always will have this equipped. The 2% proc to shield is acually quite often, more than i expected. Overall im really happy with the trinket and really happy since you cant just buy it on the AH! The shield seems to absorb about 150-300 damage, its not a high number but enough to buy you some time to get off a few extra attacks.

I've been aware of this trinket for 15 years now and never used it until this week. I always wrote it off, a 2% chance and a small shield? Surely that's no good.

I purchased one on a super-cheap big price (about 1.5g) and rather than deal with the hassle of reselling I decided to equip it on my Shaman. From now on, I will be purchasing this item on any character I level, it makes such a huge difference to your downtime eating/bandaging/healing and I whole-heartedly recommend using one of these.

The shield prevents spell-pushback, FWIW.

Excellent item for your first or second trinket, but it hugely loses compared to Mark of the Chosen (from Maraudon quest).

The problem is this one being great for paladin and shaman tanks (doesn't coflict with gaining aggro, helps casting the spells), but Maraudon's trinket being even greater for them (+25 to all stats with 60 sec duration is huge).

So I don't advice to buy Uther's Strength at AH, althought these two trinkets can be worn together.

I remember getting this in a chest.
Dont remember where since it was like a year ago and at that time i leveled a warrior tank.
So having a shield would just hinder me.

But time went on, it sat in my bank.
I started a pally and were like hey didnt I have a trinket in my bank already?
So put on my pally, did do big pulls and that trinket is so amazing for tanking !

I'm now 65 on my pally and yes I still use it even tho the shield is ~200 absorb.
I will replace it once I get another trinket since mobs are starting to hit so hard its about 3-4 hits only.

However, from the time you can use it till roughly 55 its really good for tanking.
I'd say it procs almost every pack when you do big pulls so even if 2% sounds small it pops alot.

I've gotten it back to back several times so if you play a pally tank, this is a "must" for you since tanking becomes alot easier since you wont take that much damage.
