In these caves as I type this, and by the count of the leather I've skinned, I'm up to 90 of these Yeti, without a single drop. I hate quests like this.

It seems like constantly all you people forget that you're questing to get XP.

You get atleast 300xp per kill of these monsters.

Now some of you have been killing over 50 of these? Allright, time for some math.

50 mobs, each worth 300xp, that's worth 15.000 freaking exp! Plus the award for the drop that you finally get, that equals 21.000 freaking exp!

If this isn't a good quest, I don't know what. And I have skinning, so pure love from me.

Ofcourse, it ain't the most exciting, but effective it sure is.

omg i've killed about 200+ and haven't gotten a single one!

Cleared the whole cave system about 3 times.

Horns dropped on kill 56 and 88, both times the middle level 57 patriarch in that star shaped room about halfway into the cave.

Looted about 4 gold plus various drops worth another 2 gold and skinned 61 rugged leather, 25 thick leather and 2 rugged hides in the process.

cleared the cave 2 times (actually 4 times, in and out again) still no drops, this really sucks :/

I did this in like, 6 kills. Seriously.

My mate said he did it in about 10 kills.

Perhaps they have upped the droprate?

took me about 25 kills to get both of them so not so bad, i got a stack of rugged leather!

Does every1 realize that these things only drop from the matriarchs and the patriarchs?

omg, unless you have about 2 hours to kill don't do this quest..ugh. got 4650xp at lvl 54priest.

the drop rate on allakhazam is never correct, coz u have to remember the people thats not on the quest, but still kills these for loot, therefor the droprate will always be lower than it actually is when u are on the quest

About to go get the horns. Hated getting 10 yeti furs. Not looking forward to this, except I'll get good XP and I want my own yeti.

But did you notice the title of the quest? The title implies that it's going to take a LONG time to get them, LOL.

Good quest to do before 60, BRUTLE @ 60 waste alot of time, go pre 60 so at least ur grinding exp :)

I had to kill like 20 of them to get both.

Was fighting some human lock for the mobs and he got greedy so i went and got 5 more mobs and drug them to his AoE and he got killed.

took about 30 mins to do the whole thing, but killing that human lock was well worth it lol...

damn PvE servers...

They have definitely improved the drop rate on these. This is my 2nd time doing the quest, and I got them off of my first 2 kills. Used to take forever.

Really bloody annoying drop ratio. I finally found both of the horns in the large room at the end of the cave. Took about 5 kills in that room.

I'm pretty sure actual drop chance is more like 2.5%, not 25%.

The drop rate is not 24% but more like 2-3%, so unless you are skinner you are wasting your time.

I spent ages clearing the cave and think I killed least 50 of these yetis (matriarchs/ patriarchs)

Weirdly my 2 pristine horns dropped for me on two separate loots at the exact same location - deep inside the cave and at the bottom in a sort of cavern area - 70.20 38.77 on my tomtom. So I would suggest going there if you're struggling to get drops.

I was grinding the Matriarchs outside the cave for ages with no drops. Went in the cave and within 10 minutes had both horns, one from a Matriarch and one from a Patriarch.

Drop rate doesn't change either inside or outside the cave. It's roughly a 25% chance each one you kill. The end

I've done this quest on multiple characters. I've had great luck, I've had normal luck, and I've had terrible luck. \

Just sit back, keep killing, they will drop.
