There was a time when 53.8 reigned supreme. This and the Arcanite Reaper are relics from those days. Considering the costs, one can make much better upgrades that this, these days.

My first warrior crafter one of these and used it for quite some time (up until he got his Obsidian Edged, in fact) - the proc, combined with a Crusader enchant, is really quite good. But the DPS is pretty weak by now for the cost of the mats. I can't imagine making one again when you can pick up an Ice Barbed Spear by winning one AV match.

i've never seen a warrior wield this before. the mats seem totally not worth it. i would strongly advise against the creation of this sword.

As someone already said above the sword seems quite useless now.

I am planning swords for my retribution paladin. At my current 51lvl I still use Truesilver Champion (https://www.wowhead.com/classic/item=7960) with Crusader on it. I have prepared already Destiny (https://www.wowhead.com/classic/item=647) for 52lvl, again with Crusader :).

I looked at this one but it will give a negligible upgrade after 6 level. Recently I bought Blade of Misfortune (https://www.wowhead.com/classic/item=31134) for just 150g, that will be my sword at 60 lvl.

Still I am not sure if I have to replace Destiny with something before 60lvl, but obviously it won't be Arcanite Champion:).

Nice sword took me 3 weeks to get all the materials to make it it looks like the Sword of the Magistrate and Earthstone except its blue and it glows white like the crusader enchant.

The prices for materials vary wildly across servers, but this was the cost for mine on Feathermoon:

8 Arcanite Bars @25g each: 200g*
4 Arcane Crystals @20g each: 80g*
7 Azerothian Diamonds @8 gold each: 56g*
1 Large Opal @2g: 2g*
8 Enchanted Leather @ 2.5g: 20g

Total: 258g
Market cost of Materials: ~540g (Orbs run about 65g)

*I used Thorium, Diamonds, Large Opals and Crystals I got from mining for remaining needed materials. I got a righteous orb in Scholomance and had the grinding stones made for free.

If you have the time, and can shop around and get your arcanite made by friends, you can save a lot of money. (for instance, I bought out 6 Diamonds for 6g88s each.) Making a scholo run or two to get your Orb for free helps a lot.

The big problem is getting someone to build it. If you don't have a guildie that can, you're taking some risk in handing these materials over to someone you don't know.

if ur trying to compare these two awsome swords,u first need to take into consideration a few key things A.destiny is a lv 52 sword,and has an effect of giving u +200 strenght for 10 secs, where as arcanite champion is a lv 58 sword that has the effect of dealing an average of 300 life to the wielder, and has the nice added bonues of giving u 120 strength for 30secs. both these swords are great, and have the pleasure of owning both, but in my opinion arcanite champion wins hands down, if ur worried about the added strength that destiny gives u just slap on a crusader enchant on arc champ and boom, thats a total of 220 added streagth to arc champ and u get the nice added bonous of being healed for 500hp,on an average mob i get healed for a good 900+ health, and arc champs procs rather nicly with crusade.

arcanite reaper and arcanite champion has the same DPS (53.8) u may say tht arcanite reaper gives 62+ attack power.... but for warrior class (dunno about the other classes) each 1 strength give 2 attack power.... thats mean when the sword activated it gives 240 attack power for 30sec
so u think 62+attaack power from arc reaper butter than 240+from arc champion? and also champion heals for avarage 350 hp

i think arcanite champion will own both of arc reaper and disteny...and crusader with this awsome sword when both activated it gives total of 440 attack power and avarage of 600 hp...

and each 1 attack power give 0.072 DPS
(240 * 0.072= 17.28 bonnus DPS==> without any enchant )
(440 * 0.072= 31.68 bonnus DPS ==> only with crusader enchant )

1) The AC does not proc and the AR is doing standard damage.
2) The AC procs and the AR is doing standard damage.
3) Both AC and AR enchanted Crusader for a single proc on AR and double proc on AC.
4) The weilder has 0 base STR and thus 0 bas AP (impossible, I know, but I do this for variable control).

Of course, it must be considered that every time a crusader procs, it either heals from 270 to 450 (built in AC enchant) or from 75 to 125 (enchanters� doing), so this is a benefit that the AR does not take full advantage of with having only the small enchant put on it. However, it is clear that the AR is superior in terms of what we like to call: �hitting really hard,� since, even with strength procs from both crusaders on the AC, the AC cannot dish out the same amount of peak damage as the AR.

However, if a double proc w/ enchant or a single proc without enchant is considered, the AC is higher DPS by about 20 against single proc enchanted AR and about 12 DPS with weapon proc and no enchant. Additionally, as noted by Rynas who replied to this post in its previous state, the AC has an attack speed of 3.0 while the AR�s attack speed is 3.8, meaning the AC would cause a more stable rage build-up, especially when given the fury talent �unbridled wrath,� as well as a higher amount of base white damage. On the other hand, if you're someone of terrible luck and your crusader were to literally never proc, then the AR is the weapon for you, since plain white damage with no AC procs is lower than white damage on unenchanted AR.

If I were to make an assessment of the two weapons, I would say that the AC is a �nice� weapon, meaning it has benefits other than simply damage, though the AR is a �power� weapon, which would explain why so many Arms/Fury Warriors enjoy it so much. I personally would chose the AC for purposes of making things easier on healers in instances such as MC and higher, though I can recognize that there are few things that beat hitting something for 1,000,000 damage with mortal strike.

If my math is wrong, then by all means, ignore everything I�ve just said, but I hope I can lend some help to the constant bickering over which weapon is better.

This sword is garbage. You want a good 2h, do ubrs for polearm, dm north or live strat for a 2h sword or AV for better pole, all of them are better then this and are free. Don't waste so much money on trash.

Personally I'm using Demonshear, I'm specced swords and this is the best I could find.(Barbarous from tribute doesnt hit as hard, and neither does this sword.)

i can make this sword and i own this sword and i think its probably a waste of time. very good sword especially with crusader enchant on it but the mats are just too much work (gold) for what you get. you could spend a lot less time raiding or doing pvp and get better stuff for less effort.

I make this sword for pally and warrior and i am backed up for months. Yet i have not made my self 1 for the fact that Destiny is faster and procs with crusader stack like 2-3 times during fight and double procs alot for a whopping 300 strength. Hmm yea i will stick with it for now.

I am a PvE Tank build warrior (Arms/Protection specced). I am a little confused as to which one would help me better. I don't do any PvP and strictly tank in raids/instances.

I am a human warrior so I have a +5 bonus in Swords and I also have the Sword Specialization talent at 4.

I am looking at either buying the Arcanite Reaper or Arcanite Champion. They both have the same attack power, (~53) but the Axe is slower w/+16 attack power and the Sword has Chance on Hit: +120 strength and +200+ (variable) heal for 30 seconds.

Is it worth it to go with the sword because of my human bonus? I also know Orcs get +5 axes so I thought this was made for them, and the AC was made for humans.

And I just wanted to let everone know that Stamina is my number one priority and not strength. I look for weapons with Stam stats first and then strength. I don't don't ever use fury stance (except for whirlwind to gen aggro).

I have had this sword for well over a month now.....it was a serious pita to get made and cost me a ton. But...it friggin' rules! The sword by it's self is just a decent 2h weapon....I had not been using it much since I got the Doomsaw. Yet, I just had crusader put on it a few days ago and man did it ever improve this sword. The crusader will stack with the normal proc on this sword. That means you get 230 added strength plus the heals. Crusader heals from 75-200hp and the sword procs heals for double that or more.

I am a 2h pally build and when both crusader & the sword procs my strength goes up to 465! Attack power with BoM on is at a friggin' huge 1300! If Vengence (ret pally skill) also procs the damage range for me is 485-575! I have already had crits over 1200 since the crusader enchant.

Before the crusader enchant on the weapon it was only a decent 2h sword but since crusader this sword has seriously improved. Easliy the best blue 2h sword in the game with crusader enchant on it. If you have this sword or are thinking of getting it do yourself a favor and put crusader on it....with this enchant this weapon is 100% BADDASS! =]

oh ya...it does proc a lot for both the enchant and the normal procs....it may only stack once every 15-30 mins but when it does look out, major dmg is to follow! =D

I've been able to craft this on Kel'Thuzad alliance side for about 6 months now. I love mine, and the ones I've sold have gone for 800-900g, with materials I usually charge about 150-200g.

Out of curiousity, since the effect of the sword is the same as the Crusader enchant (stronger, but still same effect)...

If you enchant the sword with a crusader enchant, do the effects stack or does only one work at a time?

w00t ! I have it too ! I believe i am the first Master Swordsmith on "The Maelstrom" server to be able to make this. I got plans after guarding Gadgetzan AH for 8 hours on a 100G bid from some horde player. Imagine 2 Paladins dressed up in Imperial Plates saying: "Sorry, AH is closed !" Next day i went in Stratholme and got the Master Swordsmith skill so now i can make Arcanite Champion, Frostguard, Dark Iron Reaver, Corruption (BoP). If you want one on The Maelstrom just whisper to "Showtyro". Usualy i am charging 150 G if you have materials (Arcanite Champion). If i am making it i will charge the median price you see above.

I finally can craft this! I think I will try to sell the first few I make and then use that profit to make one for myself. I was very torn between arcanite reaper and champion. I will grant that the reaper probably gives a higher DPS with it's attack power and using seal of command, but the proc on this thing is too good to ignore. I was leaning towards this sword, and then someone put the plans up on AH for 5g. With plans in hand and not having to FARM for them, it just kinda pushed me in this direction. :)

I'm a Retribution Paladin, who will soon be making the choice between Hammer, Axe or Sword smithing specialty. And, of course, I wanna make my own weapon. So, should I concentrate on this or the Hammer of the Titans or the Arcanite Champion?

No, anyone who has Two-Hand Sword skill can use this. There would be a "Class: Paladin" line if it where limited.

Bet a crusader would go very nicely with it, but if it were me I'd save my arcanite for a reaper, as a paladin we need a slower weapon for maximum SoC hits. Cant speak for warriors tho

I've got about 3/4 of the materials for this weapon now...just got the orb today which is the hardest item in the list to obtain. Lucky for me an epic dropped recently that sold for 300g which is helping fund this. So far I have around 450g into the materials and still not there.

Hope to have the sword in under a week but since I am now broke looks like I'll be farming...

It is a great sword, i think, and mainly coz it has a great proc. I guess it procs pretty much according to the heal amount and the Strenght bonus, but Whats the proc rate? every 5 secs mabbe? Please, someone who has it tell me!

really very good weapon one of the best i seen though it does not proc much maybe around 1 in 15 hits but still really good. the str proc lassts 30 seconds which is a really good and adds about 14 damage a sec. Really good weapon I'm giving it a 9 out of 10.

this weapon is nota hunter weapon. Its speed though is perect for a warrior or paladin

The speed is too fast for a MS-Warrior, but the proc kicks ass when you are a furor-skilled warrior with 2h-weapon, if you are really lucky, you'll get a doubleproc with crusader (only if you enchanted your weapon before ;))
