This is the most worthless trinket every made. Not only is it completely worthless, the quest do this requires you to go into LBRS and get "stung" by the spider boss. Hope to God when you hearth out back to Ironforge that no one cures your poison. Then run your ass over to the northern part of the burning steps to hand the quest in (you have to stay poisoned).

The poison effect casts a spider web bind that makes you immobile temporarily. This happens once every 30 seconds or so. This adds to your pain.

I thought about doing this quest 3 or 4 times as it sat in my log just to say that I've done it. I was helping guildies do LBRS back before the expansion and everytime I went in, I figured, hey maybe I'll do that quest. As soon as I got poisoned I couldn't stand the debuff and finally I decided to drop the quest.

How do I find this item. Is there a quest I need to do?

Solo'd as a 60 rogue when I was bored. Bind in Lakeshire or nearby, sneak through LBRS (distract is your friend), and walk carefully up the ramp with the spiders. Get in the corner behind Mother Smolderweb, and wait until she wanders closest to you to pull her with an arrow or thrown. Have a healing pot and/or healthstone with you, because you're going to have to tank her while you wait for her poison to proc. While you are waiting, use SS to build up combo points. When you see the poison proc (MAKE SURE, there are several debuffs she can proc), use a Kidney Shot to stun Mother Smolderweb (not immune), and back off a few feet and vanish. Hearth to Lakeshire, mount up, and return the quest. The dialogue between you and Ragged Jon after you're poisoned is pretty comedic.

Your strategy would work if they didn't make milk be cleansed by vanish (as it is considered a movement entrap effect which vanish clears).

Though that won't stop the dedicated rogue. Here's a walkthrough vid for the fight.

free bear every 30 min? cool. i like this item.
sure it is total crap if you need leave instance run for this!

(btw, don't know about vanish. i used blind and teleport to SW. blind 10 sec, teleport 10 sec, so be fast. or test vanish :)

This got mentioned in a comment above, but is easy to overlook. Quite annoyingly, the effect goes away when you take off the trinket -- it's not like a regular drink buff where you just consume it. This makes the trinket far less useful than it would otherwise be, since then it's taking up a trinket slot that could be doing something much more useful in a hard fight than 100 hp and some paltry damage mitigation.

Oh well, guess it is useful as one more Large Brilliant Shard... *plink*

Heck, even as a weapon-swinger, 5 str and agility isn't an awful trade for 100 hps and some damage reduction, jsut don't use against casters.
