Is this an item that drops some where, or is there a person who starts it? I haven't been able to find anyone around Light's hope chapel, but It has been busy since the patch, maybe I missed the quest giver. Does any know?

Plated armorfish can be fished in Alterac Valley. This is the only place I know of that you can get them. You only need about 100 fishing and some lures to fish them successfully. Better drops at night.

I fished some from the hotsprings in Winterspring 300 plus 20 for pole and a bauble

the Writs are available at Light's Hopefrom an NPC near the Horde Flight master (i forget his name). First get a quest to talk to him from the quartermaster (if memory serves right). Quest is called "Call him the Rooster".

Once you do this, you'll be able to hand him Valor tokens to get these Craftsman's Writ quests.

you get a random Writ (similar to the way you get random Combat/Field duty assignments in Silithus)

Complete the work order and hand in the items to the nearby dwarf at the pack cart.

Handing in the Valor Token to get the quest is worth 10 rep. Completed Writs are worth 50 rep. (I will double check this figure once I can do my next hand in. But I'm fairly sure that's right)

So, you should get a bit more rep than if you had burned the token itself for rep. Plus you'll earn either a Insignia of the Dawn or Crusade, so that you can work towards your Superior/Epic Armaments Quests.

The best place to fish both of these kinds of fish is in Zul'Gurub. Ask a friend to invite you and convert to raid. Then you can zone in, walk to the right and fish by the water falls. If you're 55+ you should have no problems. Requires fishing 400, but just use the Aquadynamic Fish Attractors and your Big Iron Fishing Rod and you'll be good to go. You also fish up many salmon and nightfins here too. I've gotten the occasional mana pot and a bloated fish which contained an azerothian diamond. Needless to say, plenty of time spent waiting for the group to show up to ZG. ;)

Im 268+100(lure) and i still miss one from time to time- plated armorfish drop about 1/7

Does anyone know why this should be? I'm level 60, 300 fishing skill (and a human warrior, should that be relevent in any way), but I still can't take the quest

as far as I know that happens when you're actually already on the quest, i.e. if you have an armorfish hand-in as a started quest in Q log and another armorfish writ in your inventory, when trying to accept the quest by clicking on the writ it says you "don't meet the requirements" instead of "you are already on that quest" meaning you fave to first finish the quest you started in order to get it again from the second writ. Hope that makes sense.

If I recall correctly, I've fished up a lot of Plated Armorfish from the Hot Springs in Winterspring (Western part)

there's a nice place to fish the eels and armorfish north of stratholme
just head east from the beach in northern tristfal glades until you hit a tower.
the fishing is the same as anywhere in EPL (requires 400+) but there are no mobs or players to bother you

I've found the northen most part of Deadwind Pass is good..

Fly to Darkshire, go up the path into DWP and cross the bridge eastwards... take the path north just after the bridge and go down to next to the water..

Lots of nightfins as well ;)

I got the Lightning Eeel Writ, and while fishing up my 30 Eels I also got a small pile of Plated Armorfish. I've been looking for this Writ in the AH for some time now, but I never see it. I've stopped turning in stones for Writs, so other than an AH buy I've no chance of getting this Writ. Given the high fishing skill needed, and the long fishing time needed after that, I would think that a lot of people who got this Writ for a stone would auction it. But so far, no luck. Is there any place that might show me the reward %s for each kind of Writ?
