There are a lot of people saying this needs to be done 1 by 1 and all demons need to be drained in the circle - I just did this at 23 with a group of 5 warlocks, we all did it at once, we all drained the infernal at the end, but we definitely didn't drain all demons as there is a pack of 3 and I only got 2 shards from that pack. Possibly just need all demons to die in the circle and drain the infernal at the end.

You can 100% do this as a group all at once, so long as you have the 10 bloods and hit the alter, when old mate comes out you can talk to him. Even if you forget to hit the alter before the event, once it's all done and the man comes out, you can hit the alter then talk to him immediately to get the followup.

The actual altar for summoning after gathering 10 Legion Blood can be found near Demon Fall Ridge, there's a small path that leads up the mountain inside Felfire Hill, where the Infernals spawn near a monument.

The event that follows this is solo-able. The mobs that spawn from the portal are all L24/25.

The blood collecting is solo-able if you've got time and a bit of luck. The L29 demons are quite killable but the L30 ones are a bit of a dice roll. At the area where the portal / alter is there is some green water you can evade the mobs on if you need to reset.

Will add that the bloods look to not drop in raids. Killed probably 30 demons in a 7 man raid, no one got bloods. Dropped group and killed one solo, insta blood.

I was able to solo this quest during Winter Veil with the Mechanical Greench (lev 58), easy mode!

The conjuring starts waves of enemies, 24-25 lvl, all normal except last infernal. You have enough time to eat/drink between waves.
- 1 add
- 2 add
- 3 add (2 of which are 2 hounds that are super weak)
- 1 lvl 25 elite infernal

Soloing one of the lvl 30 mobs to gather the blood is harder than the event, So the event itself can easily be soloed.

If you are struggling with this quest and have to do it solo, I recommend 5/5 suppression.

Whatever idiot at Blizzard decided to make this quest deserves to be fired... Who in their right mind thinks it's okay to lock your ability to tank behind raid quests and monsters that're nearly impossible to kill.

Post-Acquisition Edit: The only 'big' problem was the Felfire demons, if the Infernals were fearable, and all the demons were forced to spawn at level 29 this would've been significantly less frustrating, and actually a pleasurable challenge.

At Level 20, you can pick up quest The Orb of Soran'ruk from Doan Karhan. Doan is a human NPC standing at a tent just Northeast of Camp Taurajo in The Barrens.

1. The Orb of Soran'ruk
-loot 3 Soran'ruk Fragment from Twilight Acolyte, they can be found in BFD in a champer leading up to Twilight Lord Kelris OR outside of BFD in Zoram'gar Strand standing at the temple just outside the water entrance.
-loot 1 Large Soran'ruk Fragment from Shadowfang Darksoul in Shadowfang Keep, they are in the courtyard and in a hallway leading up to final boss.
*Must have quest in order to loot these items.

Return to Doan Karhan, turn in The Orb of Soran'ruk, pick up...

2. Rumors Abound
-Loot the Orb of Des at the top of the Tower of Ilgalar in Redridge Mountains.
-Loot the Bough of Altek at the top of the Tower of Althalaxx in Darkshore.
*Both towers are filled with enemies level 28-30.
*Both items sit on a table and can be looted without killing any mobs (if you can get to the rune without pulling aggro)
*Both items can be looted before picking up the quest.

Return to Doan Karhan, turn in Rumors Abound and pick up...

3. The Conjuring
-loot 10 Blood of the Legion from demons in Felfire Hill in Southeast Ashenvale.
*will drop off of Mannoroc Lasher, Felguard, Legion Hound, and Searing Infernal.
-Follow pathway south in to canyon in Felfire Hill.
-When you see the Monument to Grommash Hellscream, look north and take the pathway heading West up the hill.
-Use the Obelisk near a purple summoning portal in the Northwest corner of this area to turn in The Conjuring.
-You will contend with 4 waves of level 25 mobs. The fourth wave will be a lone Searing Infernal.
-You must be casting Drain Soul on the Infernal while standing within the purple rune on the floor when the Searing Infernal is defeated.
-A Mysterious Traveler will appear and you will receive quest Mysterious Traveler.

Return to Doan Karhan, turn in Mysterious Traveler and receive Rune of Metamorphosis.

If somebody did the quest before you, and the human NPC is still up:

-the waves will not start
-you can take the new quest without clearing the waves

So, you can skip the waves (not what I intended, since I wanted to record it), but if you don't take the next quest to fast, you can potentially mess up with the event, and then have to wait for another warlock to start it.

After completing the mini event, the Mysterious Traveler did not offer me the quest. He spawned without a question mark over his head. Thinking it might be low level (I was level 40), I went up to him and clicked but no interaction. I ran away and ran back. Nothing. I /reloaded. Nothing. I exited the game and logged back in. Nothing. Five seconds after logging back in, he collapsed and died. What?

DON'T PANIC!

I checked my quest log and found the Mysterious Traveler quest was already there. For some reason no interaction was required. I went back to The Barrens and turned it in with no problems. If the Mysterious Traveler doesn't interact with you, check your quest log just in case.

[The demon, Des'Altek, seems to have broken free of it's prison, but its still bound to it like a prisoner to their cell. We must summon forth the demon to capture its soul again.

To the north, in Ashenvale, where great demons fell, there is a location on the ridge that was once used by the Legion for sacrifices. The ground is permanently scarred from the atrocities that occurred here, but if we can gather the Blood of the Legion from the demons that still infest this land... that's the key.]
