The eccentric, often-brilliant Gnomes are one of the most peculiar races of the world. With their obsession for developing radical new technologies and constructing marvels of mind-bending engineering, it's a wonder that any Gnomes have survived to proliferate.

Thriving within the wondrous techno-city of Gnomeregan, the Gnomes shared the resources of the forested Dun Morogh Peaks with their Dwarven cousins. Though the dwarves of Ironforge also have a propensity for technology and engineering - it is the gnomes who provide the critical, visionary designs for most of the Dwarves' weapons and steam vehicles.

Appearance:

Very short. Males are slightly taller than Females, but not by much. Even Males are likely less than 3'0" in height.
A variety of hair color options, including brightly-colored options like pink, green and blue, and more Human-like colors (brown, black, blonde, grey, red).
Large eyes, adding to their generally youthful appearance
Large ears for their size, especially the Males, who also have very prominent noses.
Four Digits on each hand; three fingers, one thumb.
Eyes in Green, Blue, Gold, and Red coloration. Additional Grey and Lavender options for males. Eyes tied to face options.
Many short, ponytailed, or bunned hairstyles for ladies. A few short, bald, and balding options for males.

The gnomes’ revolutionary mechanostrider is yet another marvel of their engineering prowess. Each strider is specifically designed with the individual rider in mind. Mechanostriders are constructed using state-of-the-art steam compression, servo-motor dynamics, and duro-steel plating, offering the rider a reliable and durable means of transportation. Some claim that the mechanostrider’s lack of true sentience makes for a very dumb mount. However, gnomes counter that, under a skilled rider, the mechanostrider is more responsive than even the best-trained live mount.

Nothing more pleasing then seeing something that out weighs you by and oreder of magnitude drop to the groud by your hand.

Also... they have the best laugh... espically when used on the tram.

Does anyone remember playing Golden Eye on Nintendo 64 and everyone was so pissed when sombody would pick Oddjob cuz he was short and hard to hit?

Horde complaining about Gnomes totally reminds me of that XD LOL

Shrews (Suncus etruscus)

Northern short-tailed shrews are aggressive and will threaten and physically drive away any intruders. They escape predation by remaining hidden in the cover of vegetation or under the soil or snow during foraging expeditions from their nest. They may also make themselves distasteful by exuding a musky odor from glands on their belly and sides. Many mammal predators, such as weasels and foxes, may refuse to eat northern short-tailed shrews because of their foul taste.

Behavior

Short-tailed shrews are active year round, both day and night (although they are more nocturnal than diurnal). These shrews are the most fossorial of American shrews and are effective in tunneling through leaves, plant debris, and snow with their strong paws and cartilaginous snouts. They construct elaborate runways and nests but have also been known to use the tunnels of mice and moles. Although most of their time is spent on or under the ground, short-tailed shrews are also effective climbers and have been observed climbing nearly 2 meters up a tree trunk to obtain suet from a bird feeder.

Gnomes are agressive and will bravely fight off predators twice or more than their own size. other creatures refuse to eat gnomes because of their foul taste. They escape preditation by hiding in small places were their predators are unlikely to discover. They may also make themselves distasteful by exuding a smelly odor from glands in their armpits, chest, and rear ends.

Short Gnomes are active year round, both day and night(although they hunt during day-light). These Gnomes are the most intelligent and engineering creatures in World of Warcraft.
Gnomes are adept at digging tunnels, and creating tools.
Gnomes are also adept at climbing trees which they use to escape predators, Gnomes have bene obsurved climbing high trees to jump off and gently float down with the use of their invention: Parchute Cloak.

Hello!

Me and wife started playin this last weekend. We are FFXI converts. I started this game as a hume, but this morning started over again as a gnome.

Guess its cause I was a former taru, but its really fun being little again. Also, I have not noticed any difference in his stamina when fighting stuff, so think I will keep the new guy.

I wish you could be a skinny Hume. I wanted to be like Krasus, the red dragon from the book, (when in hume form he appears skinny and very tall)...but all the humes look like bodybuilders, LOL.

Loving my new Gnome Warlock though... Power to the little folks!

is this just me or do other ppl have this problem...

my problem is: well when i wear back armor(like capes and shalls and stuff like that) i have these two little triangles when i run... does anyone else have this problem.. does any one have a solution(its only on gnomes and i have tried multiple classes)

I have been a high level Hunter, Mage and Priest. I want a quick leveling character who a good contribution to groups and guilds.

I preferably want a Gnome character...
Gnome
(is it fun throughout the whole game, is it quick leveling, do raid guilds need them)
(Same and Do they have a lot of good DPS spells)
(fun, useful needed in raid guilds)

one of the main reasons why gnome is the most less picked race in the game?

there the only race thats didnt apair in the opening movie of wow and not in bc opening movie
so you install the game and watch the opening movie and you see this strong orc, this dwarf with his cool bear or this nightelf changing forms. so you think "that orc looks cool ill roll a horde warrior"

sont get me wrong gnome warriors own wearing swords that are 3 times bigger then there body xD

I think that Gnomes are the only race in the game to play......they are astetic in a humorous way, and they promote a fun and enjoyable playing environment....plus they are the easiest type of toon to RP in a non sort of medival annoying old english manner that is over bearing and too often over used. I have 3 toons that i actively play and the first two are gnomes, the only reason the third isnt, is due to druids being only playable by elves, which brings me to my only grief w/ gnomes.....they should be allowed to be any class ....... Muahahhahahah Power to the Lil Peoples....... and the goblins aint got &*!@ on our engineering.

Okay, I love the gnome race, and all the crazy gadgetry involved, however, I just can't see my rascally rogue riding a mechanical chicken/ostrich hybrid.

I have spent the last couple days trying to get exalted rep in SW so I might purchase a mighty black steed (I'll have to engineer an auto-fold-out-max-elevating step ladder to get on it...but I digress...)

I'm new to the game, and have done all I can think of to raise my rep, got 4500 today doing all the quest chains starting in Northshire Abbey, up to the report to the King, and yet I am still 2500 short of exalted. All the cloth I can lay my hands on at lvl 42 has been dutifully turned in, and I believe I have completed the quest chains in Westfall, Darkshore and Redridge.. so, what next? I really don't want to buy runecloth, my feeling is if I can't get it at my level, then I shouldn't be able to use it.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, I dont think I want to do the "Lost Supplies" 250 times to get this done...

i just mad a gnome lock with my friend that i met on the game and hes a dwarf pally we kick ass together. i was thinkin was a lock the best choice for a gnome or a mage was. i liked a lock bc i have a hunter and like pets and herd that they are madd good at high level.

I am slowly recovering from my terrible case of altism, and I have decided that I am going to make a gnome on a brand new PvP server.

I realize that gnomes are looked down upon by most of the community but i just think they are so cute! So, I have a few questions regarding my decision:

1. What class should i pick based on end game play, average leveling speed, overall enjoyment, and PvP capabilities?

2. Is there any specific reasons why i should or should not lay a gnome? Disscuss.

3. What classes look the best on a gnome out of a warlock or rogue?

My play style does not effect my decisions. I have played both classes and am having an extremely hard time deciding. Thanks in advance for helping me.
