According to thottbot, in the distant past the quest "Meeting with the Master" required two of these in order for you to be teleported, though that requirement has since been removed.

Before patch 2.3 they were common (white) quality, while still being useless, though with 2.3 the confusion should finally be put to rest.

looks like these dont sell close to as much as they used to.. im getting 3 s 96 c for them from a merchant

I agree...It took about 30 kills to get two feathers from the thunderhead hippogryphs

i killed 100 of these, i got 28 items, so a little less than one third

I went to that guy for the first time with this alt and I got 2 feathers ahead of time cuz I thought he wanted them. Not only is the exp-giving quest not there anymore, the feathers remained in my inventory after the teleporting.

I went there for the first time, and was not required to give feathers. He just ports you.

This is not strictly a quest item. I looted one without the quest.

Just checking on what these are use, for, and I guess it's junk now

In WoW Classis 1.13+ these feathers are not need as they are for the master quest which no longer requires these. At least you can still vendor them.

Even though they are considered a white quality item, these have no use in Classic as the quest that rendered them a useful item (A Meeting with the Master) is obsolete in the version of the game Classic is running and does not require any materials.

These are safe to vendor.
