Although it says the droprate is low, this item has dropped fairly quickly for my characters who've done this. Perhaps within 10-15 mobs?

I cleared the whole place 3 times so far, still no Symbol. we've even cleared the 6-8 mobs that spawn outside the cave 3 times too. =(

I'd say drop rate is either appropriate or too low, it's definately not better. Was at it about 1.5 hrs. to get it.

Easily soloed as 47 warlock. Just be careful not to pull more than one mob and you'll be fine. Dropped off the 7th kill for me.

I've been grinding for an hour... Nothing...
LvL 48 Shaman can solo this. Try and pick off the casters and earth shock em to death.
Get a priest along to take down the melee drones.

Me(48paladin) and 50 druid was there for nearly 3 hours takeing mobs until i recived one, still you get 10 340XP for delivering it and accepting the next stage of quests

Got the quest and immediately went to the area from the maps above...

To start, I'm a lvl 58 dwarf Paladin, Kargath server...

This is what I did:

killed 2 Twilight Fire Guards - killed 9 Twilight Dark Shaman and got the item (Symbol of Ragnaros) on the last one. I also got some good mageweave cloth and an average of 10-16silver per.

Average levels are 47E-49E, and are really easy except for the fact that the Shaman heal themselves 1-2x in battle.

i'm warlock lvl 49 and get around 1060exp from them :) single pull and it's easy, double pull means death :D

I got my symbol from a Twilight Fire Guard. Any of the elites inside the cavern will do, so engage whichever one you're most comfortable fighting. You can't go wrong. Killing the most in the least time is the best way to speed up a symbol dropping.

I got both the prayor of elune and the symbol within 8 kills as a 49 hunter, I'm still killing them now for the exp

Easy kills for an Ice mage. Just Frostbolt kite them. Make sure to keep Ice Barrier up and its always good to have Shatter in yer talents.

These mobs are extremely easy to solo as a lvl 46 pure frost mage. The thing is it NEVER drops :( I've killed about 60+ of those lvl 47-49 elites...
I gained a lvl though :D.

These guys are out of Thorium Point, and to the right (west of the TP exit).

When I first looked along the ravine, saw the nasty 49 fire mobs. Some 47 elite shamans in amongst them. The 50's are up on the right. Not a good plan. Scouted over the left hill (w/s/w direction from TP path exit)

Nothing but the shamans, standing nicely apart. I guess someone may have been there before me, so what I'm saying is have a good look around if you think you're too low level and target the shamans.

First kill went well, no drop. Second kill, lost pet had to flee. Second attempt at second kill, got the drop.

I just did this solo as a 48 Hunter...Just draw 1 mob in at a time. I was 49 by the time this dropped though...took about 20 kills. Finally dropped off of one of the Dark Shaman. Bring food and drink...and use feign if your a hunter about halway through and let yer pet tank while you bandage. Alot of traffic through here for BRD and UBRS/LBRS so if yer solo watch out.

Scored it off a Fire Guard, the shamans and geomancers are much easier to kill, just be sure to interrupt their heals/fireballs.
Fire guards were much tougher, usually had to blind and bandage mid-fight.

I managed to do it on my lvl 48 fire mage.
I just pulled the shamans because they don't have fire rez. Dropped on the third shaman:D

solo'd this as a level 47 BM hunter with the king. could handle two of the level 50 elite geomancers at a time but more than one fireguard was very hard. the shamans are easy so long as you stun them while they try to heal themselves. it took me about 20 kills before i finally got it off of the geomancer. it's really a lot easier than it should be.

Located not too far west of the camp and Thorium Point, the elites have the symbol. It took me several dozen kills before I got the drop. Occational contact with the opposite faction.

Somehow I got this on only 2 kills, got it off a shaman.

I did this at 51 and got 4700 xp.

The location for the mobs, from the quest giver go west and you will find their camp.

This was a total pain in the ass even as at lvl 53 as a rogue.
I came very close to dying with every flame guard.

best bet are the Shaman around/in the cave at 22,36. cave is below, rather than the camp above w/ the lava pit.

spent an hour clearing above then got it off 3rd shaman down below.

It took me 25 kills to get it as a level 47 paladin solo. Pain in the ass..

After trying to solo this and killing above 25 and no drops I decided to invest my time in something else.
Garbage drop rate!

The droprate seems extremely low on Classic. I've killed about 35 Twilight's Hammer so far and haven't seen a single one.
