Anyone got any idea which class would get priority on this as a need roll? I'd say it would be a fight between warrior and paladin, maybe a shammy too.

Good shield for any shield wearing class. Fairly common drop too.

Great blue shield for any class 51+ that can use shields and it covers pretty much every stat that a class would require.
Fairly Common drop, and if you aren;t lucky enough to get it to drop. It is fairly cheap of the Auction house on most servers!

As a Warrior, I won the shaman shield found in Mauradon by default because there were no shaman in the group, and no other warriors. And that was better than my previous shield. Moreover, I took Crest of Supremecay over that Goblin shield in a heartbeat.

Take your eyes off the stats and look at the armor rating, let alone the +stamina and +strength. I'm a prot warrior and primarily use 1H + shield. I'll roll NEED for this.

I'm a 58 pally and I still use this shield as I have not yet had a better one drop. Though it is a good pally/shamy shield due to it's coverage of all stats, it is true that an equal to this shield in armor and block is hard to find at this level; therefore wariors should be allowed to roll need against any hybrid class. Also, for both pallys and shamys I think this shield is superior to Gizlocks Hypertech Buckler, which is the goblin drop in Mara. Just one pally's humble opinion.

Don't forget that in order to get this shield (Shaman/Pallys) you'll most likely need a Warrior to tank the instance with his 1h/Shield. Saying that he isn't allowed to roll on such an obvious upgrade makes very little sense, considering his shield goes to MUCH more use throughout the instance.

This shield is a fair toss up for all of the above. Having played a paladin to 60 and now working on a warrior, I can say that as a paladin I wouldn't mind losing this to a warrior, and as a warrior I wouldn't mind losing this to a shamen. Shamen/Paladin get an excellent shield much more suited to them from Maraudon. Most warriors going after this shield probably still have the shield from Scarlet Monistary and as such would be foolish to pass up on this as its the only decent upgrade from the SM shield in a long time. If you need it, roll. If you have your Maraudon shield, give this to the warrior.

Heh it kinda makes me angry when i see shamans ^&*!@ing about how they should get this shield and whatnot. I'm betting that while you were leveling you were rolling on shield with +str and +sta against warriors. Did they have dibs on it since those are main tanking stats? I think not, so before you start whining think of how many other warriors are getting outrolled by you on shields they need. And yea i've seen shamans roll against warriors for Draconina Deflector, Talk about Bastage.

I was in a group w/ another warrior running helping run him through ST. There was a shaman in the group also. he was using the shield from Mara. i was using a crap shield "of the bear" green item. The other warrior was fury spec'd dual wielding. The shaman declined this shield. This was a PUG and i was ready to not loot this shield also. But after he saw what i was sporting he let me have it. Bottom line, the item should go to the person who needs it most. And a little common courtesy in groups will take you a long way. Take away the other 2 attributes to the shield and its a great all around for any class that can wield a shield.

As this is a very balanced shield (little bit of everything) I think this is the best Paladin shield for a long time. If you�re not Protection-speced you won�t mind the smaller block value compared to other shields.

I�ve worn this for several months. I got myself other good shields as well (like the Rhombeard Protector for casting, the Draconian Deflector for tanking Drakki), but this is the definite allround--Paladin shield.

Well considering we had a Shaman in our group at the time this thing dropped, we compared shields. I really liked the stats on this thing, but when we looked up each others shields he had the one from SM and i had Aegis of Stormwind, so i let him have it. Boy was he pleased!

I expect the same courtesy to be repaid when i get to that level with the Shaman i am currently leveling. Although, i don't think it will...

Ive been there like 10 times , it dropped 2 times but i lost the rolls , im still looking for it , now the wand and dagger drops only. Im hoping that it will drop soon

How can you &*!@# so much over a shield? Yes it'd be nice to get this ( i'm a warrior ) I could see a shammy or a pally have an equal chance rolling on it. I mean yeah i'd LIKE to have it but i'm not gunna be unfair.

Obviously blizz put intel and spirit on there for a reason. It's meant for multiple classes.

First ST run last night, group was 51 pala (me), 54 pala, 51 mage, 52 druid and 56 druid... and this dropped from Eranikus :)
Made me a very happy pala :)

Obviously it's liek 3% better for Shamans and Paladins, but it's a perfect Warrior shield all the same. It'd be unfair to tell them to go farm Lord Roccor for his shield too.

I have seen blue shields at lvl 56-60 that are not even as good as this! sure they have more armour but only by like 200...i would chose this shield over something that had lets say 2200 armour with no stats! im 60 with this shield...as a pally i think this is a great shield...and for horde great for shammys too...(of course at this point im doing lots of ZG and stuff so im hoping to find a better one)

we went into ST with one warr, rouge, 2 pallies and a priest, and we flew through

last battle for the shield was between me and the other pally it but i won it in the end, great upg for me

last boss is not hard, me and war tanked by backing ourselves to a wall and having the others attack behind.

would definitely roll need on this for my warrior. would expect the same from a pally or shaman. All classes should be expected to at least have the Aegis of the Scarlet Commander since it's not rare, if you don't have this or something better it's noone else's fault but your own. I say this and the BRD shield are the only things available for a warrior to get a new superior shield. To hell with the piddly amount of int and spirit, take away those stats and it's still a great shield. Has 4 more block than the BRD shield - when you're a prot warrior spamming imp shield block/revenge that's two potential blocks per cast... those 4HPs add up over time.

I'd say if you had stoneshell already to not roll on this unless you had no other shield user... or at least greed roll while the real needy rolled need. I'd let a pally get this if I had the BRD shield. But I'd most likely avoid grouping with a pally in ST to avoid the angst.

With drop rates like they are, don't expect to run an instance once or twice and think you're done with it. Might take 2-3 drops of the item you want before you actually get it.

I'm a 49 pally who had to run Mara 9 times to get Gizlok's buckler. It was 4 days of running Mara back to back. When it finally dropped I was so happy. Well as soon as I get the buckler I get an invite to run ST for the first time with my pally. We were one warrior and 3 casters. I knew the warrior was running ST just for the sheild since he is 52 and still using the scarlet. I was going to pass on the Supremecy if it dropped since I finally got my buckler and I could'nt equip it for two more levels anyways. Well right before the boss the priest had to leave. We tried to kill the boss with 4 and got wiped twice. So the warrior decided he would log out and come back with his 70 hunter. So with 2 casters and a hunter the sheild became mine=) He was mad cuz he never sees it drop with his warrior. So between getting both sheilds,the fist of stone mace,and the plate belt that drops in ST I finally think Blizz no longer hates me........for now=)

Last night I went with a few others from my guild as a tag-a-long to see the instance (I'm currently only a lvl 36 pally, but as for the others- lvl 67 lock, 54 mage, 52 hunter, and a 47 priest). Well when we eventually got to Eranikus he dropped this! I damn near crapped my pants lol! And now I've got a friggin awesome sheild waiting for me when I hit 51. :D

what the hell are u talking about? THIS IS SHAMAN+PALADIN SHIELD. warrior what the hell does 7 intel give to u .. well that would actually help u . i got a paladin and if i see a warrior that needs on it.. and there is a paladin or shaman in group he should stop playing WOW and go back to breatfeading. .. i was very happy when this dropped for my paladin.. i was lvl 51.. and about to ding.. the warrior was smart and greed on it even though he had scarlet shield.

This shield is for both pallies and shamans, i wouldnt reccomend it for a warrior or any other shield bearing class, the intel does nothing for you and you can get better from dm. i just got this shield with 1 run thru after out rolling a ninja. he was rolling need as a rouge and i rolled higher, he thought he won it so he hearthed and logged. this shield seems to be pretty popular for ppl that cannot use them..... either way this shield is very easy to get, and it kicks ass for mana users, its not that good for a warrior but hey w/e if you dont have better and you need a shield take it that is unless there is a pally or sham in ur grp....

This is an excellent shield. With all of the stats and adding a +7 stamina enchant, it truly improves your tanking noticeably, and has good blocking and armor to boot. Very good if you can get in the early 50s.

Got this on my first trip to ST. Guildies were supposed to just be clearing trash mobs and asked me (48 Pally at the time) if I wanted to come along for some xp.

We ended up running the whole instance except for Hakkar (as far as I know) and when we beat this guy with only me and MT (57 Warrior) this dropped.

Warrior and I both rolled need and I won.

Didn't even know the thing existed until it dropped. I get to put it on tonight and I'm stoked.

i just went to ST with a PUG and we killed this dragon in bout 3 minutes...me 50 warr, there was 60 dru, 52 rogue, 51 priest and another warrior 51, me n the 51 warr rolled, i rolled a 30 something and he rolled a 80 something, he was so happy and he ran all over the place and got killed by a patrol...

Risky strategy blizzard, put a little bit of everything on it so no one is truly happy.

Mara shield is better for ele/resto shamans and pallys. Perhaps as a non 2 hand talent spec'd hance sham with crappy luck on staves and fighting mobs that you'd want a shield up for.

Or a down on your luck warrior with especially bad luck on shields, but seriously there is a pattern here, this is the go to shield if you're left with few options. It's weird vanilla itemization run rampant.
