This necklace's droprate is a mite off. In my experience, it only seems to drop when you have the last part of the quest chain requiring you to kill the Berserk Owlbeasts. At this point, the drop rate appears to be something around 80%, but since you only need to loot one, and the whole party can loot it, you're going to leave many behind.

There may be a bug in getting this drop.

I tried getting this drop for 1,5 hour constant grinding on these owls. I had the quest with killing Berserker Owlbeasts.

Just wondering if anyone else have experienced this?

56 blood elf here, and it wouldn't drop for me neither.

Confirmed that you need the last part of the quest, killing the Berserk Owlbeasts to get this item.

Looks like this only drops when its dark. As previous people said it isn't the quest that makes this drop, but it was dark for me when it dropped (loads).

This drop is, I believe, only attainable while doing https://www.wowhead.com/classic/quest=4721/wild-guardians, the last of the Wild Guardians quest line. I killed dozens of the high-lvl Winterspring owlbeasts before I had this quest with zero of this item dropping. After I picked up the quest, 8/10 Berserk Owlbeasts dropped it.

i can confirm this, i grinded these for hours and hours without it dropping, then after getting the quest to kill the beserkers it was dropping every other kill

Blood Elves will never get this to drop sadly as of patch 2.0.1.

I dont know if that comment regarding the BE's not being able to get it is true, but I've been grinding on these owlbeasts WITH the quest for the last half hour or so and I've had no luck. I've also killed them without the quest and have had no luck.

Oh, and I AM a BE (pally). Maybe it's just bad luck? I dont know.

Me (undead priest) and my friend (blood elf paladin) were doing the Berserker quest. The necklace was dropping off every other owl but my friend was unable to pick it up. We've tried setting to free-for-all, tried booting and reinviting him. Nothing worked :o) Looks like Blood Elves can't get the necklace as a drop.

I send GM a ticket, and he said he can't give out any game hints or guide. I'm a BE btw and I have the last wild guardian quest.

been grinding owls for xp for a couple of h now and still no dropp so i can aggree its pretty confirmed.. have an ticket open now so lets hope i get a friendly GM for once.

edit: i just talked with a gm and he confirmed that its a bugg BE cannot recive this quest, and they are currently working on it.

when I click on it it says I don't meet the requirements for it. It's level 52 and I'm level 58....

These things drop like crazy. I was hunting the berserk owlbeasts, and I got four of these in as many minutes. More than half of my kills yealded these.

ive grinded around 50, and at least 15 have been berzerk owl beasts....

have not got it yet, and yes I am on the Wild Guardians part where you kill berzerk owl beasts.

These only drop after you complete the second part of Wild Guardians (Moontouched). Drop rate is pretty good.

Rogue BE 60, killed like 40-50 berserks and none of them dropped the necklace. Tried at part 2 and 3 of wil guardians and even after: no necklace. Damnit..

Correction: the items drops in WoW Classic, but only when you're on the phase of the quest "Wild Guardians" which wants you to kill Berserk Owlbeasts, not before.

Report from 2019: after 2 hours of killing these pidgeons i do not believe in the existance of the item. Tried both during and after completing the quest to kill Berserk Owlbeasts

I got the Necklace on my first kill of a Berserk Owlbeast after starting the second part of Wild Guardians.

I was on the 2nd part of Wild Guardians and tried to farm the necklace for an hour and got nothing. After turning in part 2 and accepting part 3 of the quest chain, I got the necklace on the 2nd kill.
