Best pre-raid priest staff by far. Buy this (try and find a discount), get +20 spirit on it, and you'll be all set for mad regen. I have Benediction now but I still keep Staff of Hale Magefire for regen. The best replacement for this is Will of Arlokk (https://www.wowhead.com/classic/item=19909) that's better for regen but much harder to get.

Mine dropped a couple nights ago off "The Razza" at Dire Maul. Lvl 61 elite chimaera. Had to get a raid of 10 people going to take him out.

Spent the day doing tribute runs. I haven't won a roll in 4 days. Kings Crown dropped first run. Priest won. Rod of the Ogre Magi dropped second run. Priest won. As we were buffing up after the Tribute, the Spectator announced that Razza was up. So we headed out to hit him. All 60s...Priest (Holy), Frost Mage (me), Hunter, Rogue, Main Tank Warrior. Tank, hunter and Rogue all died...I got him with a crit CoC from inside my Shield...good times. He dropped a bow that made the hunter drool and The Staff of Hale Magefire...the whole group felt so sorry for me that even though it was BoE, they didnt even roll on it. Just wanted me to equip it.

Yes, it looks just like Soulkeeper...slight color change in the shaft, but same spinning ring around the flame.

good times...now to decide between spellpower and another +9 int...decisions, decisions.

so I got mine in ubrs about 2 weeks ago, then last night a guild enchanter announced they had the +20 spirit enchant and was wanting a subject. Naturally, since I'm a spirit &*!@#, I had it done. mmmm 42 spirit.

got this for my second toon which is a druid , as all i m gonna be doin end game is healin ,,gr8 stats ..cost me 100g which i think is a bargain....have been so tempted to equip on my shammy for MC (but i won t)

I've had this staff since lv 57. It's an incredible staff. I got the spirit enchant, and in a raid I have extremely high mana regen. I am usually one of the last healers to run out of mana, and this staff is a big reason why.

Wow...I bought this on my mage earlier today for 30g buyout (server: Dentarg)...I was like $%^&, this reqs 57 (I'm 54) and only had 1g left over from BO...I check on here to see that it goes for 190-650g...I'm the happiest mage in the world!

my priest friend has this staff on andorhal and I am green with envy. he got it for 250g on AH, but they sell for 350-500. mana regen on it has saved from wipe on countless occasions. I am a 58 mage. Does anyone recommend a better staff?

Dropped from me doing the Karazhan prequests down in the tombs.

This will probably never sell now since its lvl58 and you get a better staff in Outland after a few quests.

If you're not going TBC its okish if you put some enchant on I guess.

my priest has had this since lvl 57 with + 9 int ench - she is now lvl 62 and has lost the roll to the ramparts staff (crystalfire) 3 times - to a lock, a mage and a druid - the staff has yet to drop again - the mana regen on the hale helps tons + with argent dawns blessed fruit +10 spirit - sure would be nice to get the crystalfire but would it be an upgrade? would the stats to crystalfire make up for the lost mana regen? am disc/holy priest btw

Rare usually drops from Moblvl = Itemlvl + 2 or 3

so I guess 59-60 mobs (and elites, since elite counts for another 2 lvls - or so it seems) can drop that one .... glowing brightwood staff's better tho ;)

It is actually pretty cheap... I bought it for 200g off the AH yesterday. Way better than my soulkeeper with +9 intel.... WORTH IT! i love it

A friend told me this staff was at the AH with a BO of 50g! I ordered him to buy it and send me per mail (CoD)

I'm sure i will enchant it with +22 spirit, very nice for priest! :D

Mine dropped off Onyxia the other day for me. Nice stats and definitly a huge upgrade over my soulkeeper. However I didn't really like that my guild was asking me to equip my new staff and I had to tell them "I already did, it looks the same".

If it looked like the icon I think it would be a bit nicer, kinda like a Glowing Brightwood with a more rounded top.

Why would someone pay money for this staff?

There is trindlehaven, Staff of the Ogre Magi, Argent Custodian, various main/off combos as other options which are all free.

If you pay more then 100G for this staff you got more money then sense.

The only problem with this idea is that ARDENT Custodian is a melee mace. Casters generally don't use melee maces with "on hit" effects

I really wish the color of the flame was a bit different than Soulkeeper. Like, red or something. It's not nearly as cool having one of these when people just think you have a fairly common staff.

Honestly, for a blue, this is in line with a purple item, imo.

Im so happy, i got this on a run RIGHT after a run in LBRS where trindlehaven dropped and someone got it who had Hammer of teh Grand Crusader.....i really think he didnt need it. Then i went to scholo and BAM this drops....won the roll with a 35 ^_^ and 2 other people rolled! Im gunna be using this for a long time.

Was just before the spiderboss in strat baron run 5 man party, to get the head from Rivendere for Argent Crusader (Thats the staff right?)
It dropped, i called out need right away (priest) and the others just passed. Slapped a +22 intel enchant on it right away, and banked the Argent Crusader. yes, crusader has bit more intel (5), but the Staff of Hale is just so much better for priests.

It's a nice staff, but TBH, who needs spirit?
I do take Glowing brightwood and trindlehaven any day before this one.

Got mine off the AH for 170g and slapped 22int on it. The only competition for this staff (pre-raid gear) is obviously trindlehaven, argent crusader and GBS. But as a priest, I favor this one because the spirit.

It already has a nice glow to it, and +22 int seems like it has a much larger particle effect on this staff's head than a thinner one (ogre magi, AC etc) so I have a permanant glow radius that follows me around.

this is by far the best staff for instances like onyxia/mc... give it a +9 int or +9 spirit, gives a quite good kicker to ur regen rate, and very nice mana pool... very good staff, gotta get one :)

i put mine up for 75 startout out and buyout of 125g it ran out of time and the price was at 76.5g i had recieved for it on Vek'Nilash november 22nd, and lately iv seen them sold ofr 130g start and 150-170BO, i dont care thouhg 76g profit was good enough for me

Was doing a quick Strat Scarlet run and just before the room where Balnazzar is this little cutie dropped from a (I think random) mob. Me (resto druid) and Priest did a roll and I won with 62 over 60. Damn sweet staff if you ask me.

well i got the best deal on this staff ever. did i get it for 100 g... nope. did i get it for 50 g... nope. did i get it for 30 g... nope. i got this bad boy for 20 gold! it was awsome. i just it saw on the trade channel and asked the guy how much it was and he said the lowest hed go was 15 gold so i said 20, best deal ever seeing is how most ppl are selling it or buying it for around 200.
