This weapon will last you as a Shaman atleast until you can use a Twig of the World Tree. VERY nice damage with good melee stats. This is a pretty rare drop even for a boe, so if you see this for cheap snap it up. It's worth every copper.

I recommend this for a retribution paladin using SoC. The high base damage at that level is great, better than Mograine's Might (https://www.wowhead.com/classic/item=7723) or Ravager (https://www.wowhead.com/classic/item=7717). I got it for10g from a friend, so it should be fine to pay around that, or if you find it on a drop than even better.

Definitely a nice 2H for a Ret Pally, Arms War or Enhancement Shammy. People at this level range generally underestimate STR.

This underestimated two handed axe is capable of inflicting very heavy damage with Mortal Strike, Seal of Command and even Windfury strikes. Due to its very slow speed, high top end damage and a whooping 23STR (which equals to 46AP) it'll make you hit like a truck. Definitely a worthwhile weapon until the player hits level 50. The price also various from servers (about 15g-60g). As a level 51 retribution Paladin, I purchased this weapon back when I was level 39 and it's served me beyond well - I've been scoring up to the 700s with my SoC crits and I've seen other players doing Mortal Strike for just as much. It's also deadly as well for a enhancement shaman when the WF kicks. Slapping on a +7 dmg enchant on this axe is like the finisher on cake :D

Other weapons within the lvl 40s range like Blade of the Titans, Blanchard's Stout, Blight, Ragehammer, Truesilver Champion, Gatorbite Axe, Taran Icebreaker and Warmonger are all good alternatives, but the cleaver is no doubt the best choice if you desire high burst damage. The famous Kang axe (https://www.wowhead.com/classic/item=2291) is a solid alternative if you're thinking about twinking (otherwise, the cleaver is significanty cheaper and will serve you just as well).

This axe will serve you very well and if you're a lvl'ing up as a ms warrior, ret pala or enh shammy! I recommend you try picking it up if you're within your lvl 40s or even late lvl 30s. Once you reach level 50+, some nice upgrades will be available to you.

I picked this axe up really as a backup weap to my taran icebreaker, but as i got more involved in PvP, that using a fast weap like the icebreaker is not ideal for taking out allie scum. thus the cleaver has now become my main weap, and by putting a +25 agi enchant on the badass axe my crit EASILY gets over 1.3k with WF (got to 2.1k once on a clothie). GREAT AXE. period.

I think this axe is crazy for lvl 43 and it may be slow but u hit some crazy ass damage with this but to bad its not a instance drop cause 20g + can be alot at lvl 40+ for training and new gear like plate and mount but totally worth it.

You can usually find this axe pretty cheap, tho its without doubt one of the best 2h weapons you can get before the IBS.

People pay 200-300g for a kang, when this has almost the same damage range due to its slower speed 3.80 vs kangs 3.60. It also adds +1 hit which is +1 to crit if you got 5 or below to hit. On top it also adds a sh't load of str., which will do wonders for AP.

The kang does have a slightly higher damage range, but the proc is dagm near useless on anything that a rogue hiding in the bushes (people by for twinks only, not pve).

TBH I would probably rather equip a 39 twink war/sham/whatever with this then a kang.

And then it costs 1/20 of the price...

I can sue this @#$% in half a LVL and it pwnnns. Ive been looking for a new axe, i had whirlwind and this is better, i got it for 10G! I was doubtful about seeing a new 2 handed axe (which iw anted) and especially about it looking cool, but i GOT this buaby for a LOWLOWLOW price!

I was about to buy a Blade of the Titans for 33g when I saw this for only 11g BO. Nice upgrade from Whirlwind Axe (which I have used since Lv 32). Fiery weapon is the enchant to go. Gonna keep this until Lv 51 when I switch to Lord Alexander's.

this is a top notch upgrade from the whirlwind axe and will easily last to 50. Nearly as good as the Kang for only a fraction of the price.

dude i just got this axe last night Oct. 8th for 4g 76s in the AH. talk about a deal! i went and trained for 2H axes just for this weapon. lightbringer's economy must either be great (cheap weapons) or crappy (can't sell weapons for very much)...
well, i am satisfied either way!

My rogue managed to get 2 of these in 2 days, both from chests in the hinterlands, one in Jinth'alor and one in the troll villages in the northeast.

One is going to a warrior friend, the other is going towards an epic mount probably (eventually)

I was killing the Thistlerub creatures in Tanaris when this baby dropped! I had been researching for days to find a good weapon to replace my whirlwind sword. Then this baby falls into my hands! I get crits over 600 now! I'll probably use this for a few levels at least. It's sweet.

I was on a mining run in the Nethergarde Mines and I saw a foreman with some 4 bladed weapon, so I killed him and this dropped.

The natural upgrade over Whirlwind Axe. This axe beats everything in its level range, arguably even Kang the Decapitator, due to its stats and speed.
