I got this off a Winterfall Shaman, and it is a great weapon for the 50 bracket. I was upgrading from the mage eye blunderbuss, and this is quite the upgrade. If you are a hunter and you get this drop, don't let the gold trick you into selling this, its a great xbow.

It's simple...whoever it most benefits should get it. If it's a hunter with a better gun/bow then don't let him have it just because he's a hunter. If it's an improvement, give him the freaking bow. If I'm with a rogue and a sweet dagger drops, it's his unless he has a better one already. Let people have their weps.

...at AH for 29 gold. Maybe expensive but i really wanted it. i was at 54 when i bought it. Skilled up crossbow skill at the ogres in Tanaris. Just sent my pet with only growl enabled, then i fired of serpent sting lvl 1 constantly (15 mana). fired off 2600 arrows very quick that way and skilled up real quick. Got a lot of mageweave as well.

I don't know why but compare to other ranged weapons it was cheap in the AH. Well if you consider 30 G cheap. I do, I can make that very fast at 51. Then because my crossbow skills where at 1/255 I made a single solo run of Stockades and in about 25 minutes I was almost at my max crossbow skills!

One trick I use to learn faster is to have an Intellect suit at the bank. Higher intellect help you learn weapons and professions faster. When I need to level up weapons skills or professions I wear my intellect suit and "Voil�". By the way most of my +intel suit come from many useless quests where the rewards where no good for a Hunter but had some +intel gear to chose. Also +intel mail sell for nothing at the AH.

as of when i noticed, it has a proc for 13-19? shadow dmg to your ranged target.

ok, its not just me. I leave my lv60 for about 2 months. I come back and I'm like casting stuff. Later I realize my bow has shadowbolt. too bad its little damage for the bolt.

I had this drop off one of the Dredge Stikers in Silithus the other day. Not an elite and certainly not hard to kill.

Dropped in Winterspring for me yesterday off a bear. What business a bear has with this in his satchel, i dunno.

Sold it to a hunter guildie for 25g, this would've gone well with the combo I have, Satyr's Lash and Shadowblade. Added nicely to shadow dmg but like the man said
"...let the hunters have the bows, the rogues the daggers."
Pretty nice crossbow for you ranged guys.

I bought this for 20g and put a +7 sniper scope on it.

Sweet!

It'll probably take me all the way to 58 when no doubt I'll get a better bow from a quest within 10 minutes of passing through the portal.

picked it up for 21g off the AH - bout it two levels early coz i thought it was such a steal - liking what i see about these huge crits - with skull splitting crossbow ive been hitting Aimed shot crits at 1200 for ages

Bought it for 10g from a guildie a while ago :P Worth it IMO, but did they add the equip/chance on hit thingy? Or has it always been there but me not seeing it?

Someone had this on the AH for 20g on thunderhorn....I heart them. Great weapon for hunters, since not many ranged weapons give an agility bonus (for some reason). Slapped a scope on this and I've been getting 1600 crits on my aimed shots at 52.

Not sure if it's technically a bug, but I'm pretty certain this thing can launch shadowbolts when you use blind, immediately breaking it
