The Slaghide Gauntlets can have different stats... f.e. of the Eagle, of the Monkey etc.

Slaghides of the Bear are most definitely, without peer for bear form gloves. There really is no comparison. I've had to pinch-tank in the core. These things rock.

Sadly, my Slaghide Gauntlets drop was of the Owl.

Completely useless for tanking (not that I complain about their armour when I'm healing and have to drop to bear because of aggro, but still, almost any other would have been better for tanking, even of the Whale.....)

Actually Slaghide Gauntlets of Defense, with a nice +7 Agil enchant are the best for a bear tank.

Awesome AC on these.. I have a pair with +defense
on, like 'em a lot. Defense isn't as good for
druids as for warriors, but having about +50
defense like me is quite nice - brings you to
the same level as the mobs hitting you, they
crit less and crush less which is very nice for
tanking hard hitting mobs in MC/BWL.

Wouldn't advice to go for too much +def though,
+dodge, +agi and high armor is better, with a bit
o' stamina to be able to take the big blows. 'Of
the Monkey' is better than 'of the Bear', as agi
provides dodge and a tiny bit of armor as well.
My choice for tanking.

With that being said, best blue bear-tank gloves
in the game - get them.

Currently equiped.

14 Agility.
14 Strength.

So assume the same for other "..of the..".

These were a very welcome addition to my feral set.

Best-in-slot Feral tank gloves right now with the right stats. It's a ~10% chance for the boss to drop these "of the Monkey" (~33% chance to drop the gloves, ~33% chance for them to roll Monkey).
