This is a good dungeon item while you are leveling, or getting Tier 0 set, or wanting a good item before PVPing, or simply soloing.

I grinded this blade out of Balnazzar, which is the final boss in the Scarlet, or Live side of Stratholme. It doesn't have a good drop rate, so if at once you don't succeed, try, try again!

Ok, I am a warlock, and have started going melee alot, we can do some major damage with our firestones, and can switch over and equip a spellstone if needed. This looks like one of the best caster weapons that wants to put out some damage with the weapon, and still have some mana/stamina bonuses. I like the +spell crit stuff, but I do much of my damage with DOTs that don't take advantage. this looks nice

Nice knife, both a warlock and rogue friends of mine have it and both love it. As a Warrior though, i'm more appreciative of my Demonshear which is found from the same boss.

A few more references...

1. The trinket Six Demon Bag - Reference to the John Carpenter film "Big Trouble in Little China." The description "Wind, Fire all that king of thing!" is even said in the film.

2. Tailor shop in Booty Bay called A Tailor to Cities - Clever reference to the historic Charles #$%^ens novel "A Tale of Two Cities."

3. (Edwin) VanCleef - Faint reference to the late Lee Van Cleef who starred alongside Clint Eastwood in the classic Westerns "For a few Dollars More" and "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly."

4. Quest called Arugal Must Die - Reference to the Jet Li film "Romeo Must Die." (Arugal was a minor character in the play "Romeo and Juliet")

5. Quest called Rise Of the Machines - Same name as the third Terminator film.

6. Quest called Smelt on, Smelt off - Reference to the film "The Karate Kid."

7. One of the Human Female /silly jokes makes her say something about Dances with tassels. Reference to the amazing Kevin Costner film Dances With Wolves.

8. The little robot called "Servo" in the Badlands sometimes says "I wish i was a real boy." Reference to Pinochio.

I'm sure there are plenty more but thats all i can recall for the moment.

This is not a rogues/hunter weapon... don't have any Agility. And why a Rogue need Intellect?

Is a Priests/Mages Weapon and maybe a warlock/druids Weapon too, but I think that the dagger is not very "stamina" balanced for an Average warlock or druid.

So Rogues & Hunters, Leave it to Casters. There are many better 1h weapons in this game with more Agility than this dagger, and hunters can use nice 2H weapons with nice Agility too.

This is probably the best 1H dagger in the game for casters, to use it with a nice Held in off Hand.

If you ride the tram from If -> SW and get off during the part where you see water and type /tar Nessy, you will, in actuality, find The Loch Ness Monster, a.k.a. Nessy, a boss level threshadon ( can't be attacked though) swimming around !

Also, in the triage quest for artisan first aid, dying criticallly injured soldiers spout a pink floyd reference from the last song on The Wall,
"Goodbye cruel world, i'm leaving you today, goodbye...goodbye.......goodbye."

The "Sword of Omens" from the main SM quest is a reference to Thundercats. "Sword of Omens, give me sight, beyond sight! Thunder Cats... ect.". As is the icon of some necklace.

Here's a reference that no one has caught on to. i seem to be the only one who has spotted it. Finkle Einhorn. The guy who comes out of the Belly of The Beast.

Do you remember in Ace Ventura when he's trying to figure out the connection between Ray Finkle and Lois Einhorn and he keeps saying "Finkle and Einhorn, Finkle and Einhorn..." haha, I love it. But it makes me sad that no one else notices it. Oh well.

Shaman can use daggers and staves.
Shaman cannot use any kind of sword, though.
Paladins cannot use daggers or staves.
Paladins can, however, use both kinds of swords, as well as plate armor.

About the Roland's Doom and the Dark Riders, I don't really recall any "Dark Riders" from Stephen Kings series "The Dark Tower" and I'm sure there are lots of other reasons to they could've named it Roland's Doom, maybe the dad of a blizz dev guy was named Roland, who knows -.-? And the same goes for that Norman innkeeper... EVERYTHING isnt a reference -.- Its cool that ppl can see some of these things but when an npc is named norman and u take it as a reference... thats going too far -.- it could be anything

Besides he didn't steal it from a french folktale or anything, it's from a poem. I don't know the english name of it but King includes several qoutes from the poem in the books, in fact there is a point in the books where the main character finds the poem in a bathroom and reads from it. Not it all though since it has like 25+ verses O.O

Should be changed to Main Hand only so no (stupid) Rogues try to roll on it. It is a terrible Rogue weapon and there are much better weapons we can get for our Off Hand that suit us better, such as Heartseeker/Bonescraper. As far as Horde goes, it should be primarily a Shaman weapon as its DPS and stats suit a Shaman. You NEVER see Priests/Mages/Warlocks melee in parties (not worth the trouble), and in solo they can get better DPS staves considering they do not have the capability of using shields. In a party a Shaman should be using a 1h weapon and a shield, where Gift of the Elven Magi and a Sacred Protector benefits them the most of blue items.

It's easily best in the hands of a Shaman, while other classes can USE the stats, they will not use the DPS. Shaman will.

Star of Mystaria, Gift of the Elven Magi, 20% dropchance must be a joke. I've killed Balnazzar at least twelve times, not a single Elven magi drop!

Oh, in the first time I was there (well second, in the first time the whole raid crashed) Star of Mystaria dropped. Why on earth didn't I roll on that, no idea. Stupid me, didn't realise it early enough that it was probably better than Horizon Choker for a Shaman. It was disenchanted.

Balnazzar always drops the crappy Plate helm or -10 spirit mail helmet (cant imagine no-one really use that), shoulders (god damn every rogue must already have them since the droprate seems to be 95%). Even Lightforge boots and the 2h mace has dropped twice. But zero GotEM. Hopeless. It's the only thing that makes the instance worth farming for a shaman. Thank god it isnt such a boring experience as UD side or Scholo, otherwise I would be dead. The instance actually is pretty fun, drop rates are just horrible.

(Btw yesterday the epic pattern dropped. Yes, epics drop more often than thing that should be on 20% chance)

Who would choose this over Lorespinner? I wouldn't. Similar stats but Lorespinner has +4 mana per sec. I'd say it's the better of the two.

Did a 5-man Scarlet the other day and both this, and Star of Mystaria dropped. I got both. 5 Righteous Orbs also dropped. 100-150g right there.

I have a 60 Druid on Elune. I am mostly balance spec but can heal whenever needed. I use Rod of the Ogre Magi and other various +spell crit gear. When needed to heal, I use Sash of Mercy and for the extra mana I couple this dagger with Spellbound Tome. Its a few int under the Brightwood, but I dont want to spend that much money for the 3 int upgrade. Any caster class can make use of this if its used with an appropriate hand item. Rogues who want this item are asinine.

This isn't just a Shaman item, it's mostly a druid/mage/priest item, shamans just have the ability to use it - but dru/mage/priest should have first dibs.

ok firstly im glad im alliance coz no shaman would roll on this dagger over me...(60mage) oh and LMAO i love these dumb rogues that think EVERY dagger is theirs..... DUH it has INT and spirit wtf would u need it for eh? Lol a rogue would get kicked inmy raids if they think they gonna stop a caster from having it....BTW its also a great warlock dagger.....warlock buddy of mine has it...very nice.

Dropped me off Balnazar last night for my Warlock , looks damn cool together with the enchant for icy weapon.

It's defenitly a caster weapon and nothing for damn rogues .

If you are a mage and think that these stats are good foor you consider how easy it is to find a stat weapon over a high dps weapon.

Get a staff, sword whatever but let rogues have priority on this.

This is Normaly used with shamens, most high level shamens use this weapon stats and all. This is DEFINATLY a shaman weapon.

Not to say, there are alot of better 2H Staffs for Mages and Druids, unless its a fereal spec druid (which is pretty dumb, either way)

This is a good Dagger, which i would use just for +stats at MC/Onyxia otherwise i would either use my Axe of Deep Woods or Flurry Axe :]

its some kind off BS i've seen in this post, cuz this with Ancient Cornerstone Grimoire, rocks, im gonna farm for this dagger till i bleed from my fingers, its the same stats as trindle haven staff with this combo, +some extra stam and spirit, so all u n00bs that claims this is bad for druid, piss off.

I think caster should have priority. Just my opinion of course. There are plenty of daggers better than that for a rogue.

Why in h-ll would a mage, lock or priest want this? This is a shammy/pally weapon cause they both use shield and could use this for the stats. Yes I know many mages etc go for dagger/off-hand but why? There isn't a rare 1-hand weapon/off-hand combo in the game that gives more int then for example Trindlehaven staff (also rare). Clothwearers should use staves instead for the stats and druids should get the mace balnazzar drops. And if a rogue even thinks about rolling for this because of the dps, he should be rolled in tar and feathers and shot in public. That's my opinion anyways ;)

Druids with Omen Of Clarity on love fast daggers, and this one is clearly a caster weapon.

Farming druids need that kinda fast weapon, since omen of clarity specs more if the weapon is faster, since it's a "chance on hit" (isn't it obvious ? why are there still people questioning that ?).

I saw one drop, got jacked by a 57 priest who's never gonna use it ...

It would be decent for (some) rogues (those that arent raiding in an endgame raiding guild.)... High DPS + nice offhand speed. Although it should always go to any caster who needs it first + a rogue would be better of with + crit or agi on a dagger.

This might be a good rogue offhand weapon -- if there are no casters in the group that dosnt have it!

Mage/priest/wlock first, then rogue, then like... shammy...

Just got this on my mage, trying to find a good offhand.

Well if you are a druid, unless you are grinding/farming lvl 55ish non-elites, or dueling a priest lol you wont be using your dagger very much to melee considering you will be either healing, nuking, or going feral... So omen of clarity isnt that useful... Plus i always thought that no matter how fast a weapon is or how slow, weapons proc the same with stuff like omen of clarity or crusader

However i did just read how its important to warlocks to be able to use off-hand stones so i guess this would be useful for warlocks, and maybe shammies who like to use shields

Er this weapon seems kinda overrated... This is +10 intel, 5 stam and 6 spirit.. Even tho its a 1-hander when are you going to find an offhand that gives enough stats to match or beat something like the twindle staff? The highest intel i can think of is the spellbound tome which gives +17 intel and a little spirit and stamina... not worth it IMO unless you have an epic off-hand like the thing that summons a skelly ;D
