Loved the video I've been doing this too you beat me to making the video though :P Much easier with a solid sword over dagger, I got a perd blade and it made it a lot more difficult, but still possible. Some added tips I've found that helped me a lot:

1. Get some cripple poison it can slow a mob just enough to not pull that extra pack.
2. Blinding powder is a god send it can save you when taking on those packs of 3 allows for max CC and minimum damage.
3. Throw a gouge on the mob you aren't targeting that extra time (5 sec if you imp i believe) can help a lot with taking less damage.
4. Bring Tea and ZG trinket

Hopefully those help a little more but the video laid most the ground work now just give it a try it well worth the time.

We got two of thoose, from 2 invokers, just after eachother :) very lucky, and i'm one lucky greed roller who won one of them :)

Rogues can solo the invokers that drop the recipe, just jump down to the left off the first bridge in LBRS, there should be a grunt/invoker group to the left and an invoker/darkweaver group to the right. Sap one, kill the invoker, loot, vanish, wait 5 mins or use preperation, repeat.

The 2 consecutive drops I reported above occurred while I was in a 10-players-raid. Thus, it can be dropped while you're in a raid. The only problem is that you'll maybe have to deal with more than 1 alchemist with the roll, eh eh.
I was lucky because in that raid there were only 2 alchemists. The other one won the first drop and passed on the second, and I won that one. :)
Potions can be sold quite easily and with good prices, considering that reagents are not hard to find.

There must not be many MC running guilds on your server or something. While i agree 1500 is excessive these easily sell in the 300-500 range on burning legion

Got this recipe last night on a guild run. I'd seen it about 8 times, but never won the roll. This time I've got lucky.

I've seen this recipe sell on the Shadow Council server (alliance side) for upwards of 800g. I learned mine on the spot. hehe

Prior to 1.10 the above comments/directions on solo farming were accurate. However, with instance changes introduced in 1.10 it is much, much more difficult.

The two-pulls which allowed a rogue to easily solo this have been removed. All that remain are the groups of 3+.

The only NPC duo that exists now is a patrol (the single grunt patrol still exists, but is on a separate path). This duo could consist of an invoker/darkweaver/grunt.

All-in-all, not really worth it to solo farm any more.

Is it me or is this probably the most underrated items in the game? If you have maybe 10 of these for an MC run I don't see the need to ever have fire resist gear...which means you'll have more life or do more damage depending on your class. And...the people in my guild make and sell these for like a gold each. Everyone pays like 5-10 gold for an MC run that is much quicker and much more productive.

I've managed to get down to the invokers, killed off both wandering patrols and also killed the first group consisting of a grunt, an invoker and a darkweaver. That was very hard, even with pots.

Farming for the recipy seems out of the question, at least if you go solo, it just takes such a long time.

Pyromancer IS soloable. i farm them alone and i dont got uber gear. after a few h farming i got 2 greater fire pot recepies and 4 pattern. LBRS is a goldmine for rouges..

Does the mob in the inset of the wall right before the spiders pull as 1 group or as two? Because if it pulls as 1, there's no way to 5-man that . . . there are at least 8 guys there.

And I'm talking about the group that you can walk by and not clear if you don't want to . . . not the one you must clear to get to the spiders.

I duoed LBRS fully yesterday, with my brother who is a Rogue. I am a hunter, and we are both 70 ofc.

Every single boss went down like a flower getting farted on by Cairne Boloodhoof.

Anyways:

Out of the 13 mobs we killed that can drop it, it dropped 3 times. That makes a drop percentage of 23%.

Pretty damn nice >:D

Why are people still trying to sell this recipe for 90+g. With new pots out there this should not sell for more then 3-6g tops.

I was bored yesterday and wanted to have all 5 Greater <Element> Protection Potions now when I am lvl 70.

I killed all Firebrand Orcs in Blackrock Spire (in the gauntlet on the last floor)

11 Firebrand Grunt
6 Firebrand Invoker
6 Firebrand Darkweaver
2 Firebrand Dreadweaver
4 Firebrand Legionnaire
4 Firebrand Pyromancer

Those I killed and I had nothing at all more then a Pattern: Mooncloth Vest from a chest.

Then there was one more Invoker that I killed and he droped it.

This is very soloable for feraldruids or druids with high armor in bearform. You can tank up to 6 orcs at a time, but try not to get to many as you will die.

Just ignore the casters in the beginning, all there spells will be resisted and they will cast spells until they are out or mana. Try to kill all the grunts before you start attacking the casters.

This is a very "wanted" recipie! cuz the pots are needed in raidinstances as Onyxia, ragnaros etc.

Won the roll for it in LBRS, figuring I could make a ton of money selling the potions. Check the AH, see I am one of 50 other people with the same idea.

Put the recipe up for 100g bid, no buyout. Come back the next day, it sold for 424g.

As 60 Rogue, you can solo farm that recipe from the firebrand invokers. There are 5 possible spawn points for 2-man-groups in lbrs. Just sap the add, kill the invoker, loot and vanish. Took me about 80-90 kills to get the recipe. You better bring another rouge-friend then you can kill the add too, that saves you the vanish and a lot of time. And watch out for the single patrolling grunt.

Solo farming lbrs rocks, well, you need to be pretty good geared rogue to have some speed, or bring a dr00d friend to heal you.

Todays farming: 1 x pattern, 1x recipe. 3 x dungeon set belt/bracers , total = 500g. Not so bad, /w timtux on skullcrusher if you want to buy somthing, i will go farm it for you :D

ok... didn't know it was worth that much. I bought out an auction for this potion this morning for 6 or 7 gold. (EU-Bloodscalp)

I will surely keep an eye on the AH to see if an other one comes by that it priced this low :)

Ive seen this up for 1000g BO, no kidding. I really want the recipe but theres no way im buying from the AH, i doubt id get it cheaper than 500g.

I'm not sure why, because I'm not an Alchemist - but let me share a story.

I got this drop in LBRS. I put it up at the AH w/ no buyout. The next morning, there was an 80G bid on it! 20 mins later, there was a 100G bid on it!

15 minutes later, I got a tell from a guy offering me 200G straight up for it. I took the 200G!

So... Just be careful you don't put this up for a 5G buyout or something!

Has the droprate been reduced for this item? I used to get 2-3 recipes on a couple of hours of farming, but now I haven´t seen one in days...

Decided to try and solo Invokers in LBRS for this recipe. Got it on my first kill... is that even possible?

25 invokers down... hopefully no more than 25 invokers left. Solo farming them isn't too bad, but using two rogues would give you access to all the spawns rather than just the groups of 2.

Me (60 Rogue) and my brother (60 Hunter) were able to pretty much clear the whole camp area. Didn't keep count of Invokers, but we cleared both them and the Pyromancers in hopes of the Archmage pattern. Reset 3 times before the pattern dropped, put it up on the AH, hope it sells. We both have alchemist alts as well, so we'll be going back more than a few times to get more, but once you get the system down and keep an eye out for the respawning pat, it goes pretty smooth. As a rogue, prep and imp sap go a long way towards survivability on this job. Also the imp. cooldown on evasion and vanish. Crippling poison is a must, and if the hunter is a BM hunter with a good tanking pet it makes it go a little faster as well.

Clear the pats, then work through the 3 pulls, sapping the Melee units, and burning the casters down. If you have access to a lot of fadeleaf for blinding powder it can also buy you a little extra time. They drop 2 debuffs on you, which when stacked can mean death even after you've left combat. One increases fire dmg taken by 1000, yes, One Thousand, the other deals ~750 dmg every 6 second for 4 minutes. With them stacked it will hit you for an easy ~1750 dmg every 60 seconds, so be careful, learned that one the hard way. Bringing in a Druid for decurse/heals would make this almost too easy, but then you would be splitting profits 3 ways instead of 2. ;-)

The 4 pulls can be done with 2 people, just takes some good timing. We would usually burn two casters down then, depending on our health remaining, we would either attempt to finish off the other two, or feign/vanish and med up for another try at the last 2. The Melee units (can't remember the name off the top of my head) have mortal strike and it hits like a truck on leather. Let the pet hold aggro as long as possible even if he dies, i.e. spam feint.

As to gear, both of us have no gear past Dungeon sets, I think the only epic between the two of us was my Darkmoon Card: Maelstrom. I went in with zero health pots, but used bandages freely, as the mobs drop runecloth at a pretty steady rate. I also kept a stack of deviate fish (easy to fish up lots of them) because about 80% of the time it heals you for ~450hp and is on a seperate timer from potions. Just remember not to cook them. ;-) Also hitting up a mage beforehand for some of the good food and water saves a nice chunk of cash, just be sure to tip them. :)

Anything bigger than a 4 pull is pretty much suicide, and we tried multiple times with multiple methods. I would say that a 3rd person would make the difference here, best bet would be a druid, they're so versatile. ;-)

Hope this helps anyone planning to get this recipe, we've got our money maker now so I'm not worried about competition. Any more that we get go to us, and then to our guild Alchies.

Umm I was in searing gorge then this item dropped in the caves from a taskmaster or slaver, can't remember but somehow it dropped there for me. Easiest 300g I ever made leveling hahah
