Solid NR shield for Pallies/Shamans/ and even Warriors from Strat. It's easy to get, and won't cost you a thing. Keep it in in your bank, because it definitely will come in handy for AQ.

As a hunter this shield has become the bane of my existence and I hate it more than anything. It drops off the same Mob as my set boots do and after 36 undead stratholme raids Ive seen this shield a good 20-25 times and seen my boots drop twice. I got my boots on my 36th attempt needless to say I claimed the shield once because no one else wanted it and I wanted one to remember how much this thing sucks. Its a good shield I guess but usually by the time ppl are hitting UD strath they already have something better. I.E Sacred Protector

Almost wasted a roll on the thing after I saw other paly roll I was uninpressed on how it looked, good shield seen better though. got Unholy scepter from baron after this though :) sweet mace though one of the procs dont really benefit my class, since I cant do shadow damage. first time I seen it drop after like 11-14 raids.

This is a very nice shield, I rolled for this with my warrior and won, as I have not looked 100% at it. It is a nice sheild but the +nature is not really of use for anything as you get better buffs by simply having a druid in your group with you.

However, I would recommend any warrior to go get the "Intricately Runed Shield" from Scholo, and leave this black thing to the pala's.

Yes, it's a blakc, dark shield, but not a pure colour it's skull motif is a saturated bronze colour. While the Shield I mention from Scholo is a brighter blue and more appealing colour set, but the same shape, style and texture.

this shield has a not bad armor level and blocking...but no bonuses..I prefer my "wall of the dead", which is 100 less armor, only 34 blovking but gives +10 str and +15 stamina. I just rolled cos i guess i was the only one not to have it....

for non epic shields this will be great for AG, melee will need all the NR they can get.

I like the way it looks...the eyes on the face of the shield are yellow...on the IRS they are darker....

Might become a new shield of choice in AQ, if what i hear is true:

1: Despite having 800 less armor than BWL shields, which is apparently slightly easier than AQ, that much armor might add a percent or two to your reduction, not huge at the amounts we're talkin in hits here.

2: +15 Nature Resist will be very nice for defense against the massive earth based damage that will be taken in there, e.g. Earth Shocks and poisons.

I was all "what's that +nat res junk? Vendor it now!" until I saw how important it can be in ZG bosses and (as it's rumored) AQ. I now run maraudon and DM east for some more plate items w nat res and yes they do make a difference in ZG bosses.

i jus got this last night im 53 but i went with good guild so strat undead was a piece of cake. i won roll over guild tank who wanted this for resistance shield. however i jus got crest of supremecy the night before. how do you think they compare? crest is good for me for 3 lvls regardless but stats are def better on crest. guess i will see how they compare in battle when i get there.

Dropped in Baron Strat last night, warrior had a better shield so I rolled on it (58 Pally), it was better than my old shield, but since I mostly use a 2hander I'd always let a warrior roll first. Still, looks like it would be useful in AQ.

its not bad it has some NR so itd be nice to carrry into ZG the shield eranikus drops isnt that great its more for a shaman or pally

Theres one reason, and one reason only why this shield exists, NR resistance for AQ, if you rolled over a warrior for this shield who wanted it for resistance you are a moron. You may have just cost that guy to get kicked from an AQ40 run because he didnt have enough NR. There is only 3 shield with NR on them and this has the highest.

And please, before any of you coment in the future about and item with +resistance to it search around the world of the internet and find that fight that needs it THEN come comment.

And if you are wondering why NR would be such a big deal, go and search Princess Huhuran. Thats the first boss that needs mass NR.

For the expert warrior above....

1. There is more than one class who can use it. Depending on how those classes are utilized by their guild, they may need it. While AQ is the big, bad NR instance, some fights in ZG and elsewhere also could use NR. Who needs it more? I don't care...not getting into that crap.

2. NR gear is plentiful throughout the game. If your guild is at the princess, congrats...you've gotten a long way. If you are relying on a silly +15NR from a shield to make or break your gear, you need to farm more CC faction for gear/patterns and quit crying. You should have quite a bit more NR if you are already at the princess and this +15 would be nice, but not necessary.

3. Discussions on who needs the gear more are stupid.

I'll take avalanchion's ugly-ass stony hide any day; bought it off AH and it has 2000+ armor, 16 STM and inc block. Problem: it looks like someone took a #$%^ onto a baking tray, shoved it in the oven for a couple hours, pulled it out and voila! Avalanchion's Stony Hide!

12% drop rate my hoof! Friggin dropped 8 times in a row for me. The thing is hideous and the stats are ok I guess, but what's with Blue's obsession with skulls on shields?
