Nice wand. Used to be 5 damage, before they redid the damage value (basically doubled all dmg effects). One of the best pre-raid wands out there.

i still use this wand.. and i use to raid bwl and such,but if i get my hands on touch of chos,i replace this ofc ;)

yeah if you sacrifice some stats for a couple +damage bonus items it can get kind of crazy. when I throw on eye of flame as well as 4 other +damage items my scorch spells do about 400 damage on a non-critical and arcane missiles do about 250-260 on non-crits with some different gear. Sure you don't have as much mana, but your cheaper spells do alot more damage and your DOT's do a little more too.

Arcane Missles and Blizzard are channeled spells, not insta-cast Dots. The damage on these spells is, just like +dmg to a normal dot, spread out through the entire damage of the spell. Thefore, if I have +25 Arcane Damage on my gear then each of the 5 Arcane Missles will receive +5 damage to equal the total 25 damage once the 5 seconds of channeled casting is over.

did a little test on my Lock and with +30 to Damages and effects my instant cast Curse of Agony does +3 to the first Tick 29 to 32 per begining tick if you have +150 you have +15 for the first tick used.

now for the Shadowbolt it increases Drastically. with the spell being a 3 second cast you get the full bonus of the +dmg and then combined with the talent that decreases casting time of Shadowbolt and immolate you can get it down to 2.5 cast time yet you still get the bonus cause the base Shadowbolt cast is 3 seconds. with the correct +Dmg on you can do up to 3k Crits every 2.5 seconds.

add this with Master demonologist and the succubus you have +10% to all dmg spells. also added with the shadowbolt talent which increase the next 4 shadow attacks by 20% after you crit (30% total) also include that the succubus is running about 100DPS as well as Curse of shadow which debuffs the targets shadow resistance by 75 You can throw out some extremely fast Damage.

all in all the highest crit ive seen with a lock's shadowbolt is 3.7k

This wand is probably the best global +dmg wand available, 2nd only to Touch of Chaos.

this one for +dmg

i use them BOTH, kinda depends on the situation. in pvp i like stats, i pve i take dmg

Ive done Scholo many tims but never could get all the way to gandling (groups always fell apart). But yea this dropped along with some toher things. I had wished tht the dreadmist mask or mantle (from Jandice) had dropped but this is still pretty cool. Think ill jst get felheart instead so this was a good tradeoff..

Sparkling Crystal Wand (https://www.wowhead.com/classic/item=52149) off the Duke of Shards is very similar to the Stylus. Most casters would probably prefer the Stylus, as it has slightly more +damage (as opposed to the SCW having a few more points of int), but there is one condition under which SCW has clear superiority - when a Paladin has used Judgement of Light on an enemy mob and you are wanding to regain mana. The SCW has a speed of 1.5, compared to the 1.9 of the Stylus. This is particularly important for Priests.

dropped today, i passed since i have a stormrager so the priest grabed this. very nice wand if you dont have the stormrager or the epic wand from MC yet.

Looks uber. Very useful if you're stacking +spell damage, which I will be doing later on. So I'm using it till I get my Stormrager and then I'll probably come back to it or my Wand of Biting Cold later.

i just got this today, but i really cant decide on which one to use...

i've got stormrager or this, stormrager has better buffs (stam + int) but this one has that nice +damage and +healing and it looks really cool together with my dreadmist stuff...

ah well :p

We did 2 Scholo runs yesterday and this dropped twice. Very nice. Looks great with 'lock gear. I've always thought wands were too "vanilla" - this one is definitely snazzy.
