WoW the drop rate of those plans are high... I dont know how many portal seekers i killed but no more then 10-15 and it dropped three times for me.... to bad its Bound On Pickup :(

I was grind in blasted lands and i killed the guy like 6 times, i got the plans 3 times, too bad i don need em and they are BoP

Found the 2 spots they spawn ( moved all around BL but found no other ) and farmed 22 of them. Not even droped just a single time to me. With a guessed spawnrate of 5 mintues, you can calculate yourself how much time I wasted. Either it was bad luck or its nerfed since 1.9.

With all the changes in 1.9, together with some changes in earlier patches, it seems to me that Blizzard/Vivendi is turning the game into a more Everquest like one with raredrops, rarespawns, longtime camps for rarespawn/drops and mindless repetitions.

If so, then - Good Job, Vivendi.

I killed 2 and got these on the second one, cant use them, too bad my hunter friend i was grouped with just logged off ;)

Yes, there are only two spawn points, they are:

44, 33
55, 44

Killed 16 and they dropped 3 patterns..felsen just got unlucky.

Spawn rate on one was about 6 minutes, 35 seconds, but the other one seemed longer (?)

EDIT: It appears these are no longer BoP, just put up 2 for auction

the drops was low it seems, i had to kill a dozen or better to get the drop.

Confirmed...this pattern is NOT bind on pickup anymore if it ever was. I see it on the AH for about 3or4g buyout pretty frequently. This pattern is now BIND ON EQUIP.

This is really very horrible, it's bind on pickup so you need to do it yourself, and there are only TWO Portal Seekers in the entire game, which explains the 10% drop rate. You can find them wandering up and down around Kum'isha the Collector, and they are in the middle of a small open area of very aggressive things.

I would recommend doing the quest "The Stones That Bind Us" while doing this, because you can pop off and free 1 or 2 servants while you are waiting for the Portal Seekers to respawn, or you could just do the blood elf collection quests for +50 stat items.

There is no way in hell the droprate for this recipe is anything close to 25% in classic. I killed 22 portal seekers with no drop before I stopped counting. The good news is that it is usually available for pretty cheap in the AH. It is not worth the trip to Blasted Lands to try and get it to drop. Just buy it.

This is a pretty good recipe if you spend time grinding scorpids in Silithus, which skin to lots of these scales as well as heavy leather. Assuming vendor value for the scales, if you vendor shuffle these items, you get 15s+ per rugged leather. This is the closest thing to a good vendor shuffle for rugged leather that exists in classic. Of course, you will get less rugged leather per mob killed than you would get grinding Winterspring yetis or bats/hounds in EPL, but the scorpids also drop very good grays to it is a profitable grind (about 20s average value per kill) if you use this recipe to shuffle the scales and leather.
