Theres a lot of different giants in azshara, but only the cliff breakers drop the recipe. I got it on my 9'th mob. Im a lvl 60 rogue with half green, half blue gear. Be carefull, they hit hard.

I think something's wrong with these statistics, I just grinded 48 (I was keeping count) of these things, and got zero plans. Maybe I'm just very unlucky, but it seems like it should have dropped in that amount of kills.

I also thought they were difficult solo kills. I didn't use any pots but each time I killed one I nearly died. I think I got this pattern after about 10 kills(was getting silver veins for Nagmara's Love Potion quest).

Remember that the drop chance recorded is calculated out from users using COSMOS addon with the THOTTBOT part activated. In other words, a small percentage of the players. Drop chances may be higher and lower, but still its a good thing to know where others have found it and so on.

Got it also while getting the silver veins for Nagmara's potion. Laughably easy to solo for a 58 lock. Chain fear + DOTs = cliff breaker ownage.

Got one after 5 kills, These guys seem pretty easy to kill for me, 60 Druid. Going on Auction House today...:)

There are a ton of giants that spawn in the area where Cliff Breakers are...has anyone ever gotten the Blue Dragonscale Shoulders to drop from one of the other varieties of Cliff giants?

I've killed like 60 of em now gonna keep at it and yes its a hunter and a shaman item. Anyone know if the Cliff Walkers and Thunderers drop it?

I can make theese on bladefist server.
Found pattern from one of those giants in azshra whilst fooling arround while we were prepearing to kill that elite that yells alot :P; Avalanchion.
Killed arround 10 of them and then it dropped, I was very happy :). Got almost all dragonscale patterns now.

Anyway, if you support mats ill take 10g. If not, contact me in game for a price.

38 druid Ally--Hey. I've been putting this in AH over and over again.. Some people say its an Shaman thing, so an Ally may not get is sold, so i shall just sell to an vendor.. Others say that i shall try again..now i've been on for a month.. what shall i do? :S:S:S

killed several Cliff Breakers before one finally dropped

58 Hunter, with pet (5000+ armor), I would send in pet to tank, and then basically do Aimed shot, Scorpid, Heal Pet like 3 times and got him down with 100% of my health, but almost no mana, and pet at about 30% of health.

i headed out with my 52 shaman and 59 mage friend and killed, i'd say about 6 cliff breakers and it dropped. so my suggestion is just getting a high lvl friend or guild person to help you if you're low, doesnt take that long (about 15 mins for us).

Took me about an hour or so in the north eastern tip killed probably 7 cliff breakers and got it, i could solo them but barely with my lvl 53 shaman and took a lvl 42 druid with me to keep me healed worked out very nicely. i was about 5% exp away from being able to use this when i found :D

the drop rate on here seems to be consistant with thott's info. me, (60 hunter) a 60 mage and 60 pally got bored, decided to get me the pattern for my birthday, killed about 8 guys, no drop, 9 guy was the charm. like anything worthwhile, you either have to grind like heck for it, find it as a good deal at the AH or have a very good friend give/sell it cheap to you. if you got to the lvl where you can grind these things then you have alot of preserverence already :) just keep at it, eventually you will get it

Ok... I don't know what to say to those who didn't find this pattern... I went up to Azshara to farm for this pattern w/ some guildies. We didn't find anything for half an hour - then in in 2 kills there was 1 uncommon and 2 rare drops - including the shoulder pattern.

We decided to stick around and kill more cause the XP is quite good (i'm lvl 54) and literally 10 mins after that first drop... 3 other patterns dropped in succession. So 4 patterns in 15 mins. LOL. 6% drop rate.. i'm sure :) Good luck to everyone else... I hope you have as good of luck as myself.

I went with a guildy to farm for this. We killed maybe 20 before we decided to try another day. The guildy hearthed. I was headed back to FP and found two more Breakers and it dropped on the second one i killed solo. Now my guildy is happy. Kind of my last hoora since i'm joining a new guild tomorrow :)

Vent, as a lvl 65 War (Tank), to collect some Silver Vein for the Love Quest (BRD).....5-6 kills and i had my 10 Silver Vein. I had read about this drop (Pattern) so i thought i would give it a try,,,, kill no. 7 and it dropped...

My shaman is only level 48, so I had to have my 70 paladin go in and kill them. It only took 8 kills before the pattern finally dropped. Now to get the scales. I was told the best drop rate is from the elite dragons in Wetlands, so my pally will kill/loot them, logout, log in as the shaman, and skin :)

Ok, a have been farming this with a friend for a couple days and killed over 100, only cliff breakers, and nothing. Such crappy luck, i tell ya. The blue dragonscales are a 5% drop rate but i get 1 off every 7th guy. Whats up with that?

I was going to deliver the mc quest to duke blabla... cliff breaker attacks me... i think, go away mofo! xD and on my first kill this drops... who's lucky? me's lucky xD
