this drops from 2 lvl 57 drones at the top of the tower in the ruins. At the base of the tower 3 bugs appear, and I think 2 more undead after them. When you return this to the quest giver he tells you to go to moonglade. You turn it in at the main city and talk to some people and get:
choice of 2 rings. 1 has 12 intellect 5 sta, other has 9stamina 10 strength...or 10sta 9 str not sure. Not bad =)

It is the tower in the ruins just north of 59,28.
I have to kill 4 to 6 57 bugs. Not to mention all the stuff at the base of the tower. I had some close calls but was able to solo it. Lvl 54 Pali

Just run up the stairs and die at the top, Then res and complete!

make sure your VW is out and you are Soulstoned. Dont bother with any of the mobs outside, just run right through. You'll get nonstopdazed, and your VW will be sacced when you almost get to the tower. If you manage to lose aggro, hang out in front of the tower and get another void out. If you cant lose agro, Die and Res. Then get another void out. Try to run up the stairs; the two tortured whatevers will daze you and then the four wasps will insta-appear and kill you by the time you make it to the top, if you get lucky. Run back to your corpse at the top and res, get another void out and loot the bag, bringing 2 lvl 57's out (be sure you're at full health/mana). Jump off the tower and run as fast as you can, saccing your void and running, and see how far you get before dying. then Res and you're done! Only 4 stones used!

This is assuming you dont want to spend 30 minutes getting to the top, and you want to do it in 10. If you want to try to kill everything, well, you're still probably screwed by the two tortured druids you cant separate at the start of the tower, who will auto-spawn 1-3 wasps when they die, making it 2-4 mobs you have to fight. Of course, if one of them is a tortured druid, it complicates things even more. So plan on dying and running a lot. ^^

talk to Umber in moonglade, follow a quick 3 step quest completion, and you get a great ring and 14k XP!

If you're a hunter, this worked for me. Put a frost trap outside of tower, pull two guys inside to frost trap and then charge in and up tower. Feign at top. Now here i had a little engineering to help. Wait for FD to recharge. Put down one frost trap. Pull the goo out of the case and two mobs will spawn. Hit the one that isn't frozen. I had engineering here so I used "The Big One" to do some damage and help me out but i would suggest being ready to use a good heal potion. Anyway, kill one and loot it before you die. I had a parachute cloak so i just jumped and feigned at the bottom of the tower. There is probably an alchemy alternative.
I did this at 55.

as a 54 rogue getting to the top of the tower was easy, just distracted the 5 things at the base and stealthed my way up ... but the hard part was killing the bugs.

if i a priest at 58 can solo this quest line free their souls and clear the tower you guys shouldn't have any problems and I'm not even a shadow no one said every quest was made to be soloed any way just cause your gimp doesn't mean you should turn others away from a quest if you did 5 out of 8 quests why give up when soo close to end of chain it was great xp while getting items for quest

Just did this quest as a 55 Ice Mage. Was pretty flawless, just ran up into the top of the tower and died then rezed. Then killed the drones and used slow fall to jump out of the tower. Only died once. =)

Lev60 Frost Mage..

there are 2 Undead and 3 Drone guarding the base of the tower..

Blizzard once outside, frost nova, blizzard again..

Ice Barrier, Arcane Exp them =)

Just take off all your gear, run to the top of the tower....die instantly. Spawn at the top, put all gear back on...heal up, grab the item...kill one, grab other item...jump for your life (will probably die). Rez, then run and turn it in...this was a lot easier than killing 8 sentinels and 8 druids IMO.

Solo'd.....56 Warrior.

Solo'd as a 57 Druid.

Ran up to the top, got killed. Rez'd at the top, got the goo and killed one of the bugs to get the Encrusted object, jumped down and died again then ran back.

Got the goo 10 times already and I don't know what i am doing wrong.

I got the goo as well, and jumped out of the tower, cause I didn't remember I needed to kill one of the spawns. I've snuk back up to the top of the tower like 5 more times, got the goo only once more, and the spawns won't come back, and the goo maker isn't allowing me to loot it anymore.

you need to kill the ambushers (green wasp-looking things) to get the encrusted object (encrusted silithid object is a DROP off the ambushers . *not* in the pot of goo). i killed one of the ambushers and looted it right before i died. thankfully it was on the first one i killed. after looting, i ran off the edge, died, spirit healed and went to valor's rest to cash in.

solo'd as 55 lock.lesser invi. potion, ran to the top,got the silithid goo,feared one ambusher,killed the other,loot,then jump! (died in the fall,but who cares?got the quest done)

run on top of tower and feign death (without pet or pet on passive) then put frost trap, open kill one mob(seckond in trap) loot and jump(leave pet to attack seckond mob) run 20 yards from tower and u will be out of combat. mount and Q done

I did it in... 20-30 seconds. 1st use mana shield (frost nova) all the time ale get on the top. Then :
1). nova mobs and be on mana shield while opening pod.
2). die, ress and complete it.

If you're a frost mage, this will be quite easy! Just tak on Ice Barrier, run up. Freeze them all, then loot.. jump down. Mission Complete!:)

You need to loot, then it will spawns some mobs.. kill 1, loot, jump down...

lawbringer paladin with earthshaker on khadgar eu. killed the elves from the entrance of the tower and all the bugs that spawned there. so its possible even without the invisibility potion

Loot the freaking Hive'Ashi pod, u get sum hive Goo --> crap for another Q
then 2 bugs appear, kill them loot them and voila u got it....
was that serieusly that hard?

This quest is very easy solo if you're Shadowpriest. I did solo this quest when I was lvl 56lvl shadowpriest. Pull all out of a tower, put all dots on one mob, fear, mf, mf, mf, mb, mf -> dead and do same things on other mobs too. Easy. :)

57 druid stealthed up got caught by one hive drone used dash and ended up only having to kill 3 drones bear form FTW! opend the pod got the goo and only 4 more drones appeared ez as pie

Did it in 5 min...avoided all the mobs around the tower used a lesser invisibility potion to run through the undead guarding the tower. Once up I killed one of the 3 drones looted the encrusted silithid object, died and then ressed at Cenarion Hold.

3 Drones come when you walk in the tower. so watch it!

If you are doing this quest in WoW Classic, before you go in, TURN OFF AUTO LOOT. DON'T TAKE THE GOO. You don't need it, but if you pick it up silithid will constantly spawn on top of you. And if you delete it, it will delete the quest and you'll have to do it all over again!

The goo isn't needed and just seems to be there to kill you.

When i tried this quest.

2 tortured druids at the bottom of the tower. When in charged them 3 Hive Drones spawned.
5 mobs. I was dead i seconds.
Corpse run to your body. Go almost tot the top off the tower.
Come back to life.

On top of the tower is a clickeble pot of some sort.
This is a trap. Open it an 2 hove drones will spawn.
Kill 1 fast en loot.
You will have the quest item.
Jump down the tower and run.
