this armor kit increase defence value, not armor like +16/+24/+32/+40 kits! it is a big differece...

the last thing the poster above me said is the most important, the reduction of chances to get critical strike is one of the most important things when fighting certain mobs that could usually crit a warrior with mortal strike for over 2k dmg... if those crits start happenning too fast, not even the best healer in the world will be able to save the tank...

How does one accomplish raising their skinning skill to 310? I know about having gloves enchanted with +5 to skinning skill but what else am I missing? My lvl 60 hunter on Silverhand is maxed in both skinning/Leatherworking and choose Dragonscale Leatherworking. I have been reading up on all the recipes and stuff I have yet to get.... and want to get one day... LOL I did some searching on my own to find out how to get skinning skill up but have not been able to find anything on it... any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah its called Finkles skinner, gives +10 to skinning and drops off "the beast" in UBRS.

There is also an enchant (requires 1 vision dust and 3 green whelp scales) for gloves that gives +5 skinning skill. That with the knife would give you 315 skill.

our guilds warrior has ~400 and im sure he could easily increase that as we are only just starting MC. when we get some better items he might get 450 :)

Hello and good day. I can get 480 WITHOUT core armor kits. I can't wait for our server to get them. 500 defense ftw!

my 60 warrior would love to have a few of these on him
i just got flamewalker legplates in MC and would like to add a bit of defense onto them

Druid Buff gives you +AC not +defence. +20 defence is very good for lvl 60 tanks, and I heard someone said that a warrior could get more than 500 defence, and with 4 of these, it would be like HARD to hit him.

With the blade of the basilisk proccing I have seen my character having 558 defense.
This is the highest I've been able to achieve so far. (not my tank gear tho, just for fun)

Defense is listed under the SKILLS menu. 300/300 is as high as you're going to get without any bonuses. AND for that number you need to be level 60. With +20 def, it's a 6.67% increase.

If you do not know the difference between Armor and Defense Skill, you are a caster. Don't tell warriors how to be tanks.

yeah, that blows, how they reduced it from 5 to 3...

EDIT: i didnt think they'd nerf the kit too, but nope. nothing escaped the nerf hammer...

+22 int and +15 agi both go to weapons not armor. Armor kits obviously go to armor so what u said makes absolutly no sence. Also leatherworking is nicer than tailoring. At least leatherworkers can specailize for thier class. Tailors are all the same for priests, locks and mages.

For those that don't click through to the recipie spell, the mats are three core leather and two rune thread. :)

Eh elemental LW who can do every epic recipie possible. ALL I need is this and mongoose boots.
Got onyxia scale cloak one too. Just WoW reader is being buggy.Finkles Skinner and +5 skinning for onyxia.

Oh and my pants... yeah they have something on them.

It got nerfed along with other +def GEAR as the patchnotes said.

It doesnt give +5 def any longer, its +3.

Yeah......these may be a little tough to find considering you will need skinning skills up to 310...go get finkle's knife.....oh and decide that using core leather for this application is worth it.

+5 def is very nice.. its the same as a lvl.. +5def= 1 lvl in def. so a warrior with 4 of those + all the other def gear they can have he will have like +250-300 def = a lvl 90 warrior in def. thats alot of def :D

If anyone on Laughing Skull needs these made they can send a tell to Zoen, Alliance side. We looted the pattern off of Magmadar last week. Still not so sure it beats stamina enchantments, but that's not for me to decide.
