Seriously, in case you guys haven't realized yet many of these trinkets are simply for fun, I mean come on I've seen over 10 trinkets on this freakin list that everyone says is, "The worst trinket in the game." How is it possible that over 30% of all trinkets in game are: "The worst trinket in the game."? You tell me....

your imp cannot do constant dmg. either it's got the slow firebolt and the trinket's dps boost is crap or it has got the improved firebolt and the imp will run out of mana in less than 30 seconds.

Imps don't require a shard to summon knob jockey.

If i stumbled across it, i'd use it being specced with improved firebolt and improved imp. A little more dps from him isnt all that bad a thing.. i mostly only use him when the chips are down or against bosses for more dps. Are there better trinkets, sure.. but it's most definitely not the worst.

honestly, for some pvp situations i might consider using this but it's a big tradeoff compared to other trinkets.

if you do full destruction it might not be such a HORRIBLE thing to have, since you can drop the casting time on the firebolts.

all considered, i wouldnt say it sucks but nor would i say it owns.

imp damage is very good at 60 with right tallents. 112- 120 damage on a 1 second cast is quite nice. I can solo mobs with my imp up to level 60 with no problem. his DPS is great combined with mine. +8 would only make him better. I could see this trinket being used for soloing with the imp. not saying its awesome, but is certainly is not useless!

whoever said imp is useless in a raid is dead wrong.
1) imp requires no shard
2) the 41 extra fort for your group is quite handy

as for the imp getting killed due to attacking, think again.
he is a mage , he fights from afar, he never gets aggro.

if you arent attacking with the imp he never dies ,unless the warlock dies, due to phase shift!
which for you warlock ignorant folks out there means he cant be attacked!

only time imp dies is if the warlock commanding him gets him too close to a mob with an area attack.(think wide swing blade attacks)

as for him running out of mana in less than 30 seconds, so what, 99% of the mobs are dead in less than 15 seconds.

the only time my imp runs out of mana is on bosses, and again so what, his fort buff is stilla ctive and heisnt dead due to no aggro.

even if he does die, around 1k mana and 10 seconds or less later you can have a new one! with all the crystal water flowing around mana is not a problem!

improved imp meens he casts firebolt every 1 sec.so this is 8DPS! if it was a rogue trinket with +8dps you'd love it......this is a nice trinket imo

Just got this drop last night off of Pimgib while playing my lock. Had no idea it existed! I equipped it for shoots and giggles. :P I didn't have my combat log visible but I let my imp throw out firebolts to his heart's content.

ok, that's very true... but you seem to have left out the part where the imp can NOT attack while phase shifted. so his immunity to everything but a few aoe attacks has to be lost for this to work.

this trinket would really only be useful to a *very* specific sort of warlock build. as a destruction/affliction warlock who doesn't solo with an imp and keeps it phase shifted in groups so that it lives longer, i scoff at this trinket... however i can see it being rather nice for a very different style of warlock. regerdless of spec i think it's crap for the end-game stuff as there are infinitely better trinkets out there... could have it's uses in pvp/pve/small groups though if you had a lot of improvements to your imp.

People nowadays think that if an item isn't +100000 spell damage its useless. EVERY BIT COUNTS! I do not believe pets are affected by the global cooldown, at least not the imp with imp firebolt. If he isn't, then thts 8DPS, find me an item that increase someoens DPS by 8 on a single trinket. With 5/8 FH or 5/8 nem, and a demo spec warlock, an imp can become a VERY formidable caster. He can do some serious damage. I've seen warlocks have their imp duel a rogue. The imp tore the rogue apart, but he killed it fast. But in PvP a rogue is going to be going after the warlock, not the imp, letting him DPS away like mad. I've had my imp turn the tide of battle before with his crazy DPS.

All in all though, this probably isn't that usefull to a non-demo warlock. But with Unholy Power, among other talents, this is a great trinket, especially if you PvP with your imp.

well, i think that this trinket is quite useful, +8 damage doesnt seem like alot but with the right points in talents, it can be.

For a person who always has his imp out and has skilled improved firebolt this trinket gives like 28 extra spell dmg. I think, although briarwood trinket has 29 spelldmg, pimpib's can be more useful for a destrolock that uses a lot of instants.

This is a good trinket if you are in Ahn'Qiraj.
Against Fankriss.
Imps attack the boss while most DPS get the worms.

And the imp's cooldown is only 1second.

With Improved imp, improved firebolt and the black book my imp does about 250 dps, 350 odd on a crit. This would give around 20 extra dps with talents and the black book.

Only thing that is annoying is that it takes up a trinket slot which could be put to better use, +spell damage trinkets would be of more use as they affect dots and instant damage. Still an interesting trinket though.

Word on the street is that the PTR for patch 1.12 removes the global cooldown for firebolt, making 2/2 imp firebolt actually usefull, and this trinket just got a bit more usefull...

After the last patch I am thinking about getting this trinket, I'm full demon spec so I dont have the advantage of 2/2 imp Fire ball, however non crits are already 300 damage, Use this trinket and the black book (which I already have) and I would love it mainly for just fun, but I'd love to grab it. As it is my Imp dueled a BWL geared Fire spec mage and took him out in 4 attacks, the Mage counterspelled me instead lol.

Unfortunately, Blizzard nerfed the imp, making base cast speed for his fireball 2 seconds from 1.5 and changing the amount of time reduced from improved firebolt from 0.5 seconds to 0.25 seconds. So now, putting 2 points into improved firebolt does nothing more then ave him firing at the speed he was at pre-patch. Eugh...

Does Improved Imp improde this dmg too? :) Would be 2.4 dmg more - "Watch the Imp of doom: He dishes unbelievable 10.4 damage more than any other!"

I like the Idea... And I love my Imp... But this is Vendor-Trash!

Having a 200 dps firebolt nuking imp is really cool. In combination with the Black Book, CoE, the improved firebolt talent and this trinket the little green guy does more than 3000 damage with his mana pool within 15 seconds. So watch out for the little green imp on steroids. ;)

Well, this trinket isnt really that handy.

But its pretty cool, at most this can add is 16 extra dps to your imp! (The black Book (100% more damage to your pet) + talents which remove 1sec casting time on firebolt)

Oh yeah, the mob that drops this is localed in Dire Maul East, rarespawn.
