This pattern teaches the recipe for (obviously) the Sulfuron Hammer, which is one of the required materials to make the mace Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros (https://www.wowhead.com/classic/item=17182) the Legendary hammer that "drops" from Ragnaros in Molten Core.
Rag actually drops the Eye of Sulfuras (https://www.wowhead.com/classic/item=17204) which you have to combine with the Sulfuron Hammer to create the Hand of Rag.

you turn in one sulferon ingot ( drops from golemagg) to learn this.

after you have crafted this epic hammer, ( bind on equip) you combine it with the eye of sulf and it becomes the legendary hammer.

Well I'm just saying that coz I'm a Shaman.
To get this weapon you seem to need to be honored with the Thorium pipolz. So no horde/alliance thing its BOTH.
Then you need to turn in a Sulfran Ingot or whateveritscalled.
You have the plans: congratulations.
You need arcanite. If you have a alchemist friend it will take him 100 days to make. Not to mention you need to get the crystals first. Or you can just nuy it all but on my server it would cost about 25g per bar so thats 1250g aproximately. And you're on a hell of a server if there are more than 10 bars for sale at any given time.
Ok you've got the arcanite, now you need the 25 essences of fire and the 10 blood of the mountain.
Hope you're motivated.
That's it, all done, you've got the weapon!
Congratulations.
Now go ahead and loot the Eye off Ragnaros with 3% drop. Either you do it with your guilde 30 times till you get it, having told your guild you wanted this item (and hopefully noone will "oops i didnt mean to roll"). Either you just slo Ragnaros for the heck of it.
Mix the eye and the mace and guess what? you get a better mace.
Congratulations, you've got one of the most powerful weapons in the game, and you got thrown out of university, your wife left you or you lost your job coz you played too much. Happy life!
Who am I to say this anyway? I get 30 full days of play when i do /played. Addicted as anyone else.

Anywho Sulfuras is way too cool.

As the title says:

YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE EXALTED WITH THORIUM BROTHERHOOD.

You just need to go see my old buddy Lokthos down in the BRD bar, with a Sulfuron ingot in your backpack. He will offer you a quest, a Binding Contract. You do not need any level of rep with the Brotherhood, just the ingot.

I can craft this on KJ Server, alliance or horde.

Does the person who's exalted with Thorium Brotherhood also have to be a blacksmith, or can I get the plans when I'm exalted, and send them to my blacksmith who isn't exalted. The plans dont say bind on pickup and they dont say requires exalted with tb so I didnt think so, but you never know. Anyone have any ideas?

I just got the plans for the Sulfuron Hammer.
I'm a 300 BS and im not Specialized in anything (i am NOT a Master: Hammer, Sword or Axesmith) My Rep with TB is honored.

All you have to do is to give 1 Sulfuron Ingot to Lokthos in the Brd bar and he gives you the plans + 680 TB faction rep.

Im a Pally on Dalaran.

its just this, nothing else, and i read it can also be done with friendly (but im not sure) so dont think of exalted and stuff, or alliance only, just horde/alliance get honored (and maybe friendly?) then go to BRD pub, with a sulforon ignot (golemag drop) and complete it :p thats all, no specialisation required, and i heared the plan is even boe, but not sure

Ok, both my friend and I tried to get this contract with the Sulfuron Ingot in our inventory. He's neutral and I'm revered, both of us were able to get the 'contract'. He's engineering so it wouldn't be of use to him but that just shows that you don't have to be blacksmithing to get the plans but obviously you have to be to make the item. Nothing drops that starts a quest all you do is talk to the guy in the BRD bar when you have a Sulfuron Ingot in your bag and he has an option like, "omfg what is that yo bag? Give me the precious!" then you go through his chat and he'll give you the contract. Got it? Good.

ur all weird its a mad shammy weapon and wat if ur alli u cant have a windfury totem so i have to be horde and i would reckon that it is a shammy weapon coz im a 60 shammy wif it and i havent lost a duel since i got it

all you need to do is be a 300 blacksmith (DOES NOT matter what your blacksmithing focus is) and give a sulfuron ingot to Lokthelos Darkbringer (sp?) in the BRD bar. Then he will give you the plans. The Sulfuron Ingot is a random drop from Golemag the Incinerator in MC. Thats it! Oh, and get all the mats to actually make the darn thing (Takes a while, but is very doable) =D

* Sulfuron Hammer - all Blacksmiths can obtain this. To receive the plans you must bring a single Sulfuron Ingot which drops from Golemagg the Incinerator (drop rates: Thottbot / Allakazam). You need to be revered with the Thorium Brotherhood and have an ingot in your inventory when you speak to him to receive the plans.

Now, once you actually craft the hammer (mats costs several thousand gold), you will want to obtain an Eye of Sulfuras, which has an even lower drop percentage (from Ragnaros). Combine the Sulfuron Hammer with the Eye of Sulfuras and you will get the legendary hammer, Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros.

To Answer:

Im honored with TB, 300 BS/Armorsmith

You do NOT need rep, you only need 300 BS and an Ingot

IF your a serious BS/Wep Smith/Armorsmith and in a serious raid type guild its likely you will have rep anyhow.

An ingot on the open market costs 800-1500gp, for plans that you will likely use 1-4 times total. So I suggest you consider carefully obtaining these.

The required mats take either significant time or significant gold, dont begin aquiring them unless your willing to put out the effort in either time or gold. The mats are the most difficult to aruire even on a mature server. If your guild has MC on farm status then its much easier.

The hammer itself is a dull orange, only when you add the eye does it have a particle effect.

Assuming you buy the plans, aquire the mats, you still have to wait on a drop for the eye.

Good Luck its takes legendary pateince to get a legendary hammer.

Im a paladin with this mace (Nutjah - Drak T'hul)

And yes you can do awful damage in pvp
Still, I can't reach the top 10 on the damagemeter in raids while paladins will probably never be damagedealers, this was also not intended by blizzard anyway
This weapon benefits warriors much more in raids to do extreme dps.

I could retrieve the plans for this mace even before revered, dont think repu mathers anymore

I'm a lvl 300 Hammersmith thinking that you needed to be hammersmith to make this thing. Unfortunately I found out about 5 minutes later that any blacksmith type can make this hammer. WTF. I guess hammersmith will just have to deal with Hammer of the Titans as the best weapon you can make. Next time I'll do a little more research.....

Since the Thorium Brotherhood starts out neutral to Alliance and Horde characters, one can assume safely both can receive the plans, as long as you have the Sulfuron Ingot and are at least Neutral with the Thorium 'Hood.

On our server Draenor Eu this hammer would cost you so much,its not even worth making...

If you dont farm the mats needed to craft the Hammer you would spend around 9000g on AH :P

Sulfuron Ignot => 8 * 600 = 4800
Dark Ironbar => 20 * 10 = 200
Arcanite Bar => 50 * 41 = 2050
Essence Of Fire => 25 * 5 = 125
Blood Of The Mountain => 10 * 30 = 300
Lava Core => 10 * 103 = 1030
Fiery Core => 10 * 105 = 1050

its easy to get the mats if your guild bank already has them waiting for the first person with the mace then you spend your time farming mc for eye of sulfuras good luck getting it

No way you can make one yourself! IF you ever get this hammer it's the guild who gave it to you. You don't get a random-pick-up group for MC i think =P. Some guy told there guild almost has it. Got to check that out =P. But then the artifact hammer (orange). Have you ever farmed felcloth? It has the same dropchance like the eye of ragnaros so gl for the guild who wants one =P.

I have crafted this for one of our warriors. I heard somewhere that people said you need Exhalted with TB to get the plans for it.

THIS IS NOT TRUE

I am revered with Thorium Brotherhood and I got the plans from the guy in BRD.

No idea if he gives it at friendly/honored.
Easy way is to go there with a sulfuron ingot in inventory, and see if the guy will hand you the plans (after some chit-chat text)

And another rumour, you do NOT have to be weaponsmith to craft it. Im Armorsmith and it went fine :)

neither the plans nor the hammer is bind on pickup, meaning that you could sell these for a hefty sum in the ah, as the average price denotes. the only problem i can forsee is that the eye of sulfuras is more likely to drop than the chance of a blacksmith either possessing that much arcanite (50 is no missprint), or the 8 sulfuron ingots.

as far as i can tell i do not think, though i cannot confirm, that you need to be a hammersmith to make this, although i would believe you have to be. a bugger for me as i want to axesmith (such a shame i'm stuck making arcanite reapers...)

First of all: U dont need to be a blacksmith/armorsmith to get Sulfuron Hammer(Sulfuron Hammer is NOT Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros).If u can get the mats u can get someone to craft it for u. In that case u will need 8 sulfuron ingots since u dont give 1 to the qst giver to give u the plans.If u are a blacksmith u can get the plans yourself for 1 sulfuron ingot from the qst giver in BRD.After u make Sulfuron Hammer (which takes a %^&* load of items to get) you will need The Eye of Sulfuras to combine to make the legendary hammer Sulfuras.
Reputacion is not important here.Everyone can get the plans if u have Sulfuron Ingot in ur bag.

Erm, no, all quest rewards are most certainly NOT BoP. As a matter of fact I sold the gauntlets from an Armorsmith quest just this week for 35G.

The plans for the Sulfuron Hammer are obtained by turning in a Sulfuron Ingot to Lokhtos Darkbargainer in the Grim Guzzler in Blackrock Depths. There is no reputation requirement to recieve the plans.

Well yesterday i obtained the plans for the Sulfuron Hammer, i am Honored and i had the Sulfuron Ingot in my bags...

Those plans are NOT BoP because i could trade it or even put it on the AH if i want...

and the mace you can make then, isnt BoP either.

so ppl who never made this weapon or even got the plans, dont say things you dont know #$%^ about.

This scroll is bind on pick up. All Q rewards are. Also the hammer itself is bind on pickup, so only blacksmiths can get this Legendary hammer.

Putting this here for anyone that might be unsure. Despite Sulfuron Hammer being one of the finest pinnacles of Blacksmithing in the game, it does not require any specialisation to craft. So you can be Armoursmithing, or Swordsmith, whatever. You'll be able to craft it.
