This is a very easy, although long, battle. You need a very good group, another warlock is nice I am told but we didn't have one, and a mage. You have to keep the sheild up through the entire battle and the rest of the group has to make sure the imps and doomgaurds stay off of you. You need to also be banishing and enslaving the doomgaurds. Our warlock enslaved a doomgaurd and got him down to 10% while hacking away at another doomgaurd and then released them so we could kill them and continued through like that. Then have the mage just aoe like crazy on the imps. When the dreadsteed comes the tank should take him and the rest of the party should burn down the dreadlord and then turn their attention to the dreadsteed. That is how our group did it with a hunter, mage, priest, palidan, warrior, and ofcourse the warlock. (please excuse and grammatical errors or spelling errors, as I just woke up)

To bind a Dreadsteed, you must do these three things:

Create a Circle of Greater Summoning

Within the Circle, open a portal to Xoroth and pull the Dreadsteed through it.

Defeat the dreadsteed then dominate it's spirit.

The following pages will detail how each of these steps may be performed. It will not be easy, but you have proven to be very able. With focus and skill. I am confident the dreadsteed will be yours.

Implements of the Ritual

Before you begin your task, you must have the following magical implements:

Jeevee's Jar
A Black Lodestone
Xorothian Glyphs

My servant Gorzeeki will have them for you at a price. Do not attempt any step of your ritual without all of these implements. Each is essential.

Within the next pages. I will describe how each implement must be used.

Circle of Greater Binding

A Circle of Greater Binding must be created at a site where magic is strong. There is such a place deep in the ruins of Eldre Thalas also called Dire Maul. In Eldre Thalas there is imprioned a being of great power, Immol'thar; it is on the pedestal of his prision where you must perform the ritual to create the circle.

Fight your way to the pedestal, then let J'eevee out of his jar.

The Bell, the Wheel and the Candle

After releasing J'eevee he will then place the bell, the wheel and the Candle, and a circle will appear. This is the start of the ritual. You must be vigilant: the aforementioned objects conduct vast energies and are prone to failing. When this happens, you must quickly use your Black Lodestone to restart them before your entire ritual fails.

If all three objects have failed before you can restart them, then your ritual ends and you must begin it anew.

In addition to conducting the energies of the ritual, the bell, wheel and candle have unique properties of their own.

The Bell of Dethmoora, when ringing, bestows warlocks in the circle with vigor and energy.

The Wheel of the Black March, when spinning, protects those in the circle from harm.

The Doomsday Candle, when burning, sends Eldritch energy at foes who enter the circle.

Because of these blessings it is very important to keep all these objects working during the ritual.

It must also be noted that the Black Lodestone, used to restart the Bell, Wheel or Candle if they fail, requires soul shards. Each time you restart a ritual object with the Lodestone one of your soul shards will be consumed, so be sure you have a large stock of them before the ritual begins.

Not sure when they changed things (or if my fight was simply bugged), but... doing the dreadsteed quest yesterday it seems the doomguards are no longer possible to enslave. You can still banish them, but if you try to enslave them it'll let you waste time going through the casting of it, only to tell you at the end you've picked an invalid target.

Edit: Spoke to another 'lock friend today who just completed his mount quest and it seems my encounter was bugged... you can still enslave them.

Why couldn't this just be like a normal l\warlock quest? where you just talk to someone, they give you a single instruction, and you do it. Then you do it again, getting you exp every step of the way. Yes, it is a 60 quest, but thats not the problem (it may be when the level cap reachs 60). Its just that book is monotanous*, rampling on for 9 pages about the same thing. He's a simple version:

-Get Jeevee's jar, a black lodestone, and Xorothian Glyphs from Gorzeekj (the dudes assisitant)
-This must be done on the Pedestal in Dire Maul. So go there.
-When you get to the Pedestal surronded by the imps and Doomgaurds, release Jeevee. He will take out a bell, wheel, and candle. A circle will appear.
-Ring the bell, light the candle, spin the whell, and start. These should keep you safe. This is done with the lodestone (which requies a Soulshard to work)
-When the summoning is done, a dreadsteed with come out (and despite it not saying so, so will a dreadlord), kill em.
-The Dreadstead spirit is happy for you, you get the spell.

70 pally, 70 druid and me 65 lock I know its a lil later but ooh well...Fight your way to the place to start the summons..kill the big boss..click on the jar to release jeevees..he will place the wheel candle and bell then the fight begins..lock banishes and enslaves doomguards..more than 1 will come..BUT!

WE wiped..released to graveyard went back in and as soon as we stepped back on the summoning circle everything disappeared and I was able to summon the dreadstead maybe this is a bug but it worked killed dreadstead and snother doomguard and got my epic..maybe we should have wiped sooner but if u choose to fight then when the imps come let them be kill the doomguards the imps hit for like 15dmg but they will interrupt the lock restarting the objects HOPE this helps
