These gloves were the _best_ gloves for dagger rogues in PvE versus bosses. +5 daggers used to add alot of damage, by reducing the chance for the rogue to do glancing blows with their daggers. Now it gives 0.5% crit.

These were the best dagger rogue gloves for raid boss DPS, until the weapon skill change with 2.0, due to the fact, that when combined with weapon expertise they gave a total of +10 skill, which completely eliminated the glacing blow penalty. After 2.0, they are slightly worse then Bloodfang.

Slightly worse then BF? I would think more like worse then NS lol... no agility at all... since the 2.0.1 patch those gloves are good for the DE... thats all :'-(

Pre-2.0 these were great for a Dagger rogue for PvE raiding. +Weapon skill would help reduce the severity of glancing blows on higher level mobs. Now it would just increase crit on those higher level mobs, not affecting white damage as much.

I desperately want to replace these now that +Skill is so lame, but did anyone else see this go from +5 to +4 at the 2.0.1 patch?

I haven't got Bloodfang yet, so I'll need either Nightstalker or PVP gloves to put in place of these. Or the ones from Kazzak...

These got nerfed, they used to be +4 dagger weap skill now they are 3. they're only half decent if a rogue puts +15 agility on them.

Actually every Guildmaster on my server seems to make this a rogue only item. Show me a feral druid that benefits from +dagger skill.

These went to a feral druid in MC last week, as none of the rogues wanted them, and the hunters don't share your sarcasm. Evilomen is very happy with his new gloves BTW, and we are proud of his spec.

rogue here, and the only reason i would use this crap is for the extra shadow and fire resistance. to all of you posting which class deserves these gloves: wake up dudes, these gloves are ^&*! and don't scream out any class
druids: take notice, if a rogue passes on these for devilsaur, maybe you should aim for a pair of dino gloves too as druids and rogues both benefit the same from those

To the druids saying this is better for them...wow, just wow, every non class leather is druid right?

Anyway, for a dagger rogue these are the best gloves you can get for raiding, the +5 skill is ALOT of extra DPS on glancing blows, tripling the use/DPS any druid would ever make of them.

(+hit)+(+skill) = GG rogue raid dps.

these gloves are awesome, i even pass the 8 piece set bonus from my bloodfang for these bad boys. i slapped a +15 agi on them and i plan on using them for a while. you just dont know how good +5 daggers is. cant wait for 1.12....*drool*

This will directly benefit a raid in the hands of a dagger moreso then in the hands of any druid. Reduction on glancing blows > a little bit of AP for some feral druid.

The +5 to daggers is the single most beneficial stat on these trumping all the other stats put together, even if it was the only stat, they'd still be possiblly the best rogue gloves in the game for a PVE dagger rogue.

I'd sooner give it to a fury dagger warrior even, as that's still more beneficial to a raid.

Edit: Also, this, a distracting dagger, a muggers belt and Weapon Expertise = amazing.

So, a few things are readily apparent:
- There's no such thing as a crit glancing blow
- Glancing blows are incredibly frequent in raid situations
- The primary benefit of +skill is to reduce the severity, not frequency, of glancing blows (although it seems to do both). Note that with +0 skill, glancing blows were doing about 2/3 normal damage to Onyxia, whereas with +10, there was no damage reduction at all.

It's interesting to note that adding +10 skill, with all other things being equal, will increase white damage by about 13% (in this particular fight).

- Against +3 mobs, 40% of swings will be glancing blows. This is unaffected by weapon skill.

- With +0 skill, against +3 mobs, glancing blows will incur 30% damage reduction. This seems to decrease by 3% with each point of +skill -- so with +5 skill you'll only get 15% reduction, and with +10 skill or above you'll get no reduction.

- Glancing blows take priority over crits. This means that if you're attacking from the front, and have low +hit, you'll lose crits! Always attack from behind. Additionally, at very high crit rates (or low +hit rates), +hit will effectively turn misses into crits, making it more valuable.

- Yes, ACLG are apparently the best dagger rogue gloves (against 63s). Yes, Mugger's Belt is apparently the best dagger rogue belt. No, this probably isn't how things should be.

As mentioned before, extensive tests have led to these conclusions (against bosses and other lvl 63 mobs):
- 40% of weapon swings (white damage only) will be glancing blows.
- with +0 weapon skill, glancing blows have 30% damage reduction.
- with +5 weapon skill, glancing blows have 15% damage reduction.
- with +10 weapon skill, glancing blows have 0% damage reduction, so you hit for full damage.

As a combat dagger rogue, I get +5 weapon skill from the Weapon Expertise talent. So I just throw these gloves on for boss fights and there's my +10 dagger skill. Don't underestimate the advantage this gives in terms of overall damage output.

All dagger rogues should try to get their hands in these gloves.

Latest research on glancing blows and weapon skills make these look a LOT more attractive than people previously thought.

+5 daggers = roughly 6% more white damage against a level 63 target (i.e. a raid boss)

the glancing blows you gett off this baby is just !)&¤#=/!", i gott tire 1.5+ gear, running naxx and aq40 and still use thees gloves when im on raid bosses etc.
you gett alot more white dmg of thees if you are a dagger rogue.
and you dont roll in mc etc, its a little thing called dkp.

some druid won them over rogues because he had more dkp

(I'm not saying all) but this druid is a #$%, bidding his dkp on anything, just because he is a druid and has no competition(horde side), he also won dark iron ring.. and other garbage stuff obviously not meant for him.. he also has a lava dredger, and a staff of dominance.. full cenarion.. anywho, a @#$, completely, as several rogues were crying for these gloves.. and i see mages and warlocks with blue staffs... makes you wonder if DKP still works when leadership in the guild run is obviously corrupted

As a hunter, I dnt care abotu it really, I just feel bad for the rogues

Get the new enchant (+15 agi) on gloves and these will rock for both droods and rogues, thats what im gonna get anyways :)

im not a dagger rogue, when this dropped i immediatly thought thats nice for a dagger rogue and waited for our sseal fate guys to start bidding. Noone bid so i took them for minimal dkp to save them from getting sharded. I still use dagger in the offhand, and even tho my blooddrenched grips from ZG offer me more attack power these are pretty nice for raiding, you can never have too many fire/shadow res options.

I got those for my feral FR gear the other day. Of course I checked if a rouge needed them before me, but they all had their T1 gloves already so it was only me.

Got it today from Garr. Bye-bye NS gloves -> DE :)

Planing use 5NS/2BF+this in PvE, and 5NS/3BF in PvP. cos BF gloves imune to disarm.
