Cheap trinket and comes in handy when that extra boost of burst dps is needed. I picked it up for 50 DKP (guild used zero-sum) and I used it in nearly every fight for the extra bit.

There are much more better hunter trinkets in BWL, that will overall increase your DPS a ton more than if you were to wear this, i.e. Drake Fang Talisman or any other trinkets, but I find this one very lack luster.

A lot of trinkets are indeed better. But if this were to drop, definitely go for it. It's not so much of a DPS boost trinket, but it really shines in specific situations/moments such as The Suppression rooms, the tunnel leading to Fankriss and Nefarian Phase 1, just to name a few.

The biggest thing to remember with trinkets like this is that with feign/switch you can use this in a specific AoE situation, then switch to a focus-fire trinket mid-combat.

Not many hunters that won't just pass and ask for the shard.

I mean, I could see using it if instead it tripled or quadrupled the arcane shot damage for one shot, or made all your autoshot damage arcane damage for 20 seconds, but this is just a slightly better mass "kick me" sign than volley.

Only possible use I could see is setting up a macro that triggers it than autocasts Rank 1 Arcane Shot. At least that way you'll save mana.

why do they keep buffing our worst shot.. might as well have it say:
"your next scorpid sting is guaranteed to hit and waste your mana in shooting it"

Excellent for mass capture-point interruption in Arathi Basin and Alterac Valley, especially for hunters without engineering skill (and thus no consistent supply of dynamite).

nvm...found it at the description of the spell...it's 8 yards so like one of the bombs of engineering (except the Big One) so i belive it's good dmb...and it's to everyone and i use alot the arcane shot...now 1 thing left ....if someone could make a macro that cheked if the thing has coldwon, then if it hasn't use it, then arcane shot, and if it has, only arcane...that would kick asses bacause it doubles dmg...

It's more fun than it is useful, however it's far from useless. I've used it for:

- helping lowbies clear instances
- farming low-lvl war effort supplies
- defending the flag in AB
- alot of uses in ZG (spiders, raptors, tigers, panthers, snakes, so many mobs zerg you)
- Broodlord clears
- tagging 16 people in AV at once:

Also, the cooldown on it means you can use it ALOT.

I'd like to note that any +damage you have from gear or other effects contributes 100% of the listed value instead of the ~42-43% that arc shot itself gets. I tested this out at length with crap green "arcane wrath" gear, wizard oil, and arcane elixers.

Call it trash, call it crap, call it useless, and then L2PVP :) This is my single most useful trinket in AB. When too many people are on the flag, and you don't know who is capping, this guarentees getting them all off :)

As far as usage in instances goes, the best use I've gotten out of the AIG is to tag several dragonkin targets during the Razorgore encounter so that I can kite them. Of course, if you've just won this trinket, you just successfully completed the Razorgore encounter WITHOUT the trinket, so it's not necessary, it's just nice to have.

would this work with the new misdirect ability you think? pop misdirect on the MT against a ton of mobs, and use this then multi shot, then whatever else you feel like, if it worked that way, itd be a great way to get mobs off the clothies during initial stages of a fight.

Dropped from Razorgore today (along with DS bracers which guildie bid on) on our 2nd or 3rd Razorgore attempt. :)

Been playing WSG right after and it's actually nice on small areas where Horde are skin to skin. It has a 2min cooldown, which is enough after a group engagement to fire again. It does an estimated 185 - 215 dmg, like an Arcane Explosion radius, along with your Arcane Shot damage.

I throw that, followed by a multi = a lot of dead bodies. I can't wait to use it in AV. :)

On first glance, we all thought it wasn't much, but upon usage, it actually is decent. Although for an "epic trinket", maybe they can lessen the cooldown, or lengthen the ability. You got a 10s window to fire one shot, and that's it.

Since volley hit for arcaine would this apply to a volley command? now that would make it worth a whole lot more to me.

I use this all the time in AV and AB, my record is 15 people hit at once.
Another use is in the Razorgore fight fight where you grab a sh*t tone of mobs and kite them around, works great for grabing agro from multi mobs in that fight.

Compared to other calsses ours isnt that great. An extra 185-215 AoE damage each 2 mins, isnt what id call epic. Sure it can be useful at times, like when you need to clear in MC, but 215 damage is like .. 0.5% of a mobs HP in MC, so its not that great. If it was from multi-shot, now there would be some use for it.

The DireMaul trinket for hunters, wich gives +48 attack power is much better then this one.

14 Attack Power = +1 DPS.

48 / 14 = 3.428 x 120= 411 DMG. So the DireMaul trinket adds 411 DMG in total within 2 minutes.
(The 'x120' stands for the 2 minutes cooldown of arcane infused gem).

This trinket however gives only the half of this. Yes it has an AOE radius, but how many times your fighting multiple mobs as a hunter where this becomes handy?

Flame Imps in MC for example dont care if you hit them for 1 arcane infused shot less or more, they got loads more of HP.
