The best waist item pre tier 3 for a hunter. I use this combined with Dragon stalker for PVP because there is nothign better for a hunter in game right now. With the AGI change to hunters, the 44 attack power now makes this even more attractive for hunters. This is dropped by Neferian of Black Wing Liar (the final boss), with about a 15-20% drop rate.

i have a lvl 60 hunter and a lvl 60 shaman.

yes this is not bad for a hunter, but its better for a shaman.

44 to attack power is not the same as 22 agility. agility adds to armor, makes u dodge more often and gives u greater chance of criticals in adition to the extra ranged damage u get from it as a hunter.

so its a pretty useless comment to post

If the "+1% crit" was replaced with "+35 Agility," then there would be nothing wrong with hunters rolling on this. But since hunters are always AGI hogs with all other gear, this one goes to shamans. Doesn't anyone understand that enhancement shamans need Agility?

The bottom line is this: it doesn't work both ways... hunters need gear, and enhancement shamans also need gear; both classes like the same stats.

Either hunters can choose to want +STA +INT +AGI or +STA +INT +CRIT% and pass the other one to shams. IF you say that you have rights to roll on both, well then guess what, shamans also have the right to roll on both. Both classes need gear and neither class is more important than the other.

People roll on gear based on what they will use it for. If some shaman hates PvP and only runs instances (what's the point...?) then he will roll on healbot sets. If that same shaman loves PvP, he will roll on gear that lets him melee and cast well. In PvP shamans melee as much as cast. Gear that a class is "allowed" to have is not determined by their "place" in endgame PvE, but how they will use that gear in endgame PvP.

Hybrid.
Shaman, pally, druid. All of them can hit stuff, all of them can heal. Spec one way or another, make sure you're raiding guild know's what to expect from you (the best guilds accept the half that isnt a healbot, too) and don't be reluctant to perform the task you aren't spec'd for.
It's hunter gear. It's Shammy gear. Yep. Bid your own dkp, it drops more than once.

On our guilds first Nef kill this dropped and no hunter wanted it, so now i am the proud owner of it, and im a paladin^^

If you're alliance, this item doesn't really serve much purpose except give DPS paladins and warriors more options. If shamans didn't exist, this item would be plate. There isn't too much of a reason for hunters to pick this up considering Vaelastrasz drops Dragonstalker's Belt, which is better. It's almost the same situation as with Crown of Destruction, which is very close to Dragonstalker's Helm.

Just for all of you lore buffs there who don't know yet, Therezane is the stone queen, Theradras's mother, Ragnaros's earth counterpart. I assume she gave Nefarian a belt infused with her power because they're both servants of the old god, who created Therezane and maddened Deathwing and his brood, including his sons, Nefarian and Onyxia. (no omfg nerd posts please).

So far as my experience serves me, hunters that pvp want primarily +crit and +AP, while raiding hunters want +agility. This is mainly because, when raiding, a hunter gains +% to their stats, from an assortment of raid buffs, but their AP is unaffected. PvP, on the other hand, the goal is to crit as often, and as hard, as possible, and in order to get 1% crit, over 50 agi is required. Very few items offer this, but %crit can be aquired easily, and generally comes in conjunction with +AP. Furthermore, when a hunter pvps, they are often forced to melee (since that is how most classes try to best the hunter) and the +AP is much better to the hunter's melee than +agi would be.
Hence, so far as a hunter is concerned, this is a PvP piece of gear, which is gotten from raiding.

hunters and shamans should be the ONLY people with this hunters and pallys who use this are lame not to bad for pally but plates better if pallys dont wear plate there screwed in PVP mages will find them and think of them as pork or lambchops sheep or pig you or turtle and then throw a strong spell at you and other strong spells repeatadly and then your a pair of lambchops <crunch crunch>so hunters and shamans good item paladins and warriors if you want this go jump off a cliff

3rd of all, mages don't have any skills effected by armor. l2p

And, this is not a horrible dps pally belt by any means. For a warrior, it's not very good. The ZG warrior belt has 6 ap on it, with less stam (and the int/spirit of course), so it's not a big difference. The problem is that onslaught girdle never seems to drop. My guild has seen it twice in months of downing rag, and both times it went to arms warriors...such a waste.

This item isn`t bad but it isn`t a worthy nefarian drop either.

Let`s take the Dragonstalker`s belt for example to compare:

- Therazane`s Link:

- Dragonstalker`s Belt
271 armor
20 agi (= 40 AP)
13 int
11 spirit
15 stamina
10 SR
+1% crit

- Difference (therazane - dragonstalker):
+24 armor
+4 AP
+7 Stamina
+1 spirit
-1 intellect
-10 Shadow Resistance

For such small difference i wouldnt spend my DKP on, ór this belt has to be nearly free, wich it won`t.

There's a warrior with this on my server, though he has triad girdle now.

It is actually better than anything else besides onslaught and triad for dps warriors.

I think theyve reached a point where the loot cant be alot higher than previous tier sets without being overpowerfull, this will probably be a common trend showing minor leaps on gear considered to be the next tier up :\

Id still probably go for the belt :D

Seriously, even if im Resto specced when this drops, assuming my guild ever kills Nefarian while i still play on my shaman, i will say need and if i get it i will ofc respecc to my current build wich is 20, 31... Stormstrike and some talents in Elemental. Now, tell me where it drops a good PVP belt for enhancement specced shamans, please.

Hunters, don't forget that in BC 1 AGI will no longer equal 2 AP. So in reality, this will have +24 AP over DS. You only lose one intellect, so it's the better choice IMHO.
