Aside from the Ghoul Skin Tunic from Naxx, this is one of the best Feral Druid chests (Thick Silithid Chestguard and Breastplate of Bloodthirst being the other two). If you are a Druid, you want this for when you are not healbotting.

There are a few endgame feral druid chests, pre-expansion, that should be on your Christmas list. In order from easiest to hardest, they are:

Thick Silithid Chestguard from Moam in AQ20
Malfurion's Blessed Bulwark from the drakes in BWL
Vest of Swift Execution from Lord Kri in AQ40
Ghoul Skin Tunic from trash mobs in Naxx

Now if only we could see this drop in our BWL raids. :(

Actually, its 1803 a/c in Dire Bear Form (360%/4.6x).

This is definitly a Druid item. The lack of agility and +crit/dodge clearly state that a rogue could get little use from this.

The Strength means nothing to a Rogue, but everything to a Druid.

The only shared stats are the near 400 armor and stamina.

So, if you want +20 stamina, there are better epics for you.

And if you take this over a Druid who'd use this, you should die. Even the name screams Druid.

Obviously rogues care about attack power. Strength isn't the best way to get it though. Strength only gives rogues one attack power per point, and doesn't benefit them in any other way, while agi also gives one ap per point and helps with crit and dodge. Also note that if you just want attack power, cadaverous armor is much better than this.

Dire bear form adds 360% armor from items in addition to the 100% u have already. Other words; armor value times 4,6. Wich is 1803,2 from this single pice of armor.

With the talent that increases armor contribution from items by 10% u get 1803,2 times 1,1. Dont need to be a genius to get 1983,52 from that =)

For some reason many druids hate rogues.. guess why :p

As a Rogue and Druid player, i can tell u that this item is definitely made for a druid!
just look at the nightslayer set for rogue, its damn good and even better then this!

First of all, 1 strength gives 2 attack power for druids, unlike 1 attack power for you. Basically, the primary stat is twice as good for druids as it is for rogues. Second, stamina is important for all classes, but most important for tanks than others. A bear is a tank, unable to bandage and use potions while in its form.

Finally for those of you who didn't pay attention in the WoW history class; Malfurion was the first druid (the founder of druidism, if you want) and the hero of the battle against the first invasion. So it's got druid written all over it, just like Shadowcraft got rogue written all over it. Furthermore, druids have a "rogue" form in addition to their "tank" form. Cat form druids would therefore benefit exactly as much for rogue gear after 1.7 patch. Bottom line is, you don't wanna start a fight over gear with druids, we have good reasons to use all rogue gear, you have poor reasons to use our str/stam gear.

Stupid disput. That's a feral gear, rogue who gonna spent DKP on it- not smart guy.

Facts:
1) I am a feral druid (and always was)
2) I went thorough ALL instances as a feral druid, even before patch 1.8 (all MC, ZG)
3) We are at Nefarion right now.
4) I gonna get it when it's drops.
5) Nobody in our guild has any questions about it.
6) I'm getting those 300 armor boots too.
7) that's not perfect druid's gear. I'd like to see 40 stam instead of str.

Not fact, but from experience- it's really usefull to have at least 1 feral druid per raid. Good warrior is BETTER tank, good rogues are BETTER damagers, but druids are flexible, and with good gear can be DPS/TANK/HEALER classes.

I love to be a druid.

loosen the caps you moron
druids dont play only for going to bwl raids keeping your asses alive... they also play for themselves you know, and in that case when its pvp or duel or farm these are the items you use... not leather with +spirit and +heal...

apart from that, try in your newbish guild a feral druid in the melee dps group adding up all with +3% critical
try a warr, 2xrogue, 1xferal, 1xsham/pala
see what u get...

get out of your narrow minds, its not a surprise good druids are so rare to find...

Im in a raid grp (not guild but a collaberation) where out of about 15 druids only 3 or 4 are resto, the rest are balance (like myself) or feral, and before u say that we won't get past firelords, we've downed rags, and are on ebonroc in BWL, planning on working the strategy out and moving on within a week. The raid leader is a feral specced druid, and he's always top 10 damage, on his alt hunter in MC he's always top damage, one of our resto druids respecced to feral cause he got a freakin awesome mace (see: draconic maul) and farmed some feral gear to go with it, he's still got his resto gear and still heals when it's asked if him, just like i switch some of my items out and heal when asked of me. Druids 30 pt talent abilities in EVERY tree are designed not to just benefit the druid, but the whole grp, innervate always goes to priests in raids, +3% melee crit is put in a melee grp, and my moonkin is usually in a grp with 3 mages/warlocks and a priest or resto druid to heal us. Open ur minds, i've always been balance and always will be, i've outdamaged mages in stratholme and like instances BEFORE the new druid talents came out. I've tanked better then the warrior in a scholo grp as a moonkin (moonkin can only hold aggro by maintaining the highest damage) I've tanked better then a warrior in ginped feral gear in UBRS despite the fact i have no points in feral. I've even offtanked one of golemaggs adds when the warrior tanking it dropped early, i was helping to heal and was almost OOM, warrior dropped i went bear and held it cause the other warriors were down at gole himself. I held it and survived for the remaining half of the fight, in caster gimped bearform. Feral druids are a blessing on rags, as are moonkin, u gotta get rags below 50% b4 he dives, then u gotta kill the sons b4 they get close to the casters. The extra spell and melee crit are awesome for it, especially considering everyone has to use FR gear and not thier max damaging gear. Don't flame ppl for being a spec that helps a raid grp just cause they aren't helping the specific way u think should be right. Blizz added the gear, we can use it most effectively. End of story!

I'm in an end-game guild on Deathwing and I would say about 75% of the time I am in feral forms giving crit to rogues or hunters as well as donating DPS. Anyone who is so narrowminded to think that ferals aren't useful obviously have never tried playing with one.

Got the first one of these to drop for us tonight. Also got Circle of Applied Force and Taut Dragonhide Belt this week. WOOT.

But after the druids get their's, I can see this for warriors. And no, not protection spec warriors, but fury warriors, or any warrior wanting to bump their attack power.

Druids are incredibly underrated by everyone that I've talked too, it's ridiculous. When we had all warriors but one drop in a freak razorgore accident, a druid ns nuke healed the mt, went bear and offtanked with him for the entire fight.

But 40str is also 80 attack power for warriors and translates into 5.7 dps. And ask yourself, where is there a chest piece for warriors that drops in mc or bwl? There is none, only quested items that require drops, like bp of chromatic flight and zg bp. Both are fantastic, but outside of that, it's pvp gear.

So yes, Druids first, then warriors then disenchant for sweet sweet nexus crystals. Because any rogues who would take this over something as ridiculously sweet as the Bloodfang chestpiece should be fired out of a cannon.

First of all...not every druid in bwl is resto specced, I (lvl 60 druid) am feral specced and go feral at most bosses, at vael im always in the top 10 with dmg.

feral specced druids gain even more armor then most of you think, a feral specced druid has 20% more armor contribution from items, this means 1,2 * 392 = 470,4 armor

then they'll of course also get the 360%, which leads up to 470,4 * 4,6 = 2163,84 armor :|.

A feral specced druid also gains 20% of their stamina while in bear/dire bear form, so this means 1,2 * 33 = 39,6 stamina from this item

and in cat form they get 20% extra strentgh, which means 1,2 * 40 = 48 strentgh in cat form.

so i think we can say this is definatly a druid item:P

p.s I wont let any rogue steal this item from me:P

I'm a rogue and I wouldn't even think of rolling/bidding against a druid for this. Sure, the armor points and stamina are nice, but we getter a bigger AP bonus from the Cadaverous chest piece!

I'm a shaman and that has more armor than my Ogre Forged Hauberk. That would be an awesome PVP chest giving 80 attack power. If all the druids had it and none of the rogues wanted it, I would use it in a heartbeat.

I'm pretty resto, as far as things go, but to say a feral druid is useless in endgame PvE is like saying Disc priests are useless in endgame PvE.

Feral druids lack Innervate, NS, and some +heal stuff, but what they gain is just as useful in diversifying a healing population. They have HUGE mana pools. They can draw aggro and live, kite, etc etc etc. A well equipped Feral druid who knows how to heal > a well equipped resto druid with his head up his ass. Plus, they have many talents resto druids don't have.

This is a druid item, Rogues only get 1 Attack power per str point. So this chest is 220 health and 40 AP. Any Rogue that gets to the dragons in BWL that drop this chest would know that it is not for them. I personally would never roll on it even if it were to get disenchanted. This is Druid loot.

As a 60 rogue that went through MC already, I have to say that this chest peice blows for a rogue and I wouldnt want it for 1 DKP. Druids can have it I dont give a fk. Blows for a rogue. Druid tanks probally better

I'm a rogue and I wouldn't take this if it was free, well, I guess I would.. it would vendor for some good money. This is HANDS DOWN a feral druid item, there is no way to question it as far as I can see.

rogues want AP and crit, this gives 40 ap, not a ton, and no crit, and good stamina, MAYBE if no druids wanted it, and you had a rogue in green armor whom you brought along as filler, then just maybe he or she could take it.. other than that, it belongs to the druids.

And whoever says feral druids suck in endgame doesn't understand how lovely aspect of the pack is, 3 crit.. makes me happy, as well as good dps and good tanking skills, Not as much DPS as a rogue, or as good tanking as a warrior, but they can do both, its awesome

after 1.11 all druids gets innervate, then don't come and say u don't want a feral druid in ur raid, giving 3% crit and innervate to the main healers, and when needed have 9kmana + innervate...

And as for druids out-doing other classes...With equal gear I think a warrior WILL tank a little better, rogues will dps a bit more, priests might heal a bit better. BLizzard wanted it that way. But i know ive been in situations where our last tank gets a huge crit and goes down and a druid whos specced feral/resto pops into bear and finishes up, and as a rogue I LOVE that 3% to crit.

now, if this has 22 str and 40 AGILITY, thats a different story. but then wed be argueing with hunters not druids.

When fighting a druid, i try to put as much damage as possible on them before they hit bear for, because then the have to blow their bash and NS heal early and i have enough health to dps them down again. Druids who go cat-form against rogues deserve what they get. so do moonkin. go bear for your own sakes.

I'd love to have this for my feral druid. Those who think we can't compete with rogues, hunters or mages haven't known any good ferals! lol! But our strength is in our FLEXIBILITY. I start out dpsing in cat form. If a priest needs innervate, I'm on it. We got adds? Quick, toss some heals. Oh noes! The tank went down! Bear up and take over. Smart people are recognizing the value of a good feral and are welcoming us into their guilds and raids. Those who still have their heads shoved up their asses I wouldn't want to run with anyway.

My rogue is wearing a crappy green monkey breastplate still... even though most of the rest of my gear is epic now. I'd file this tunic under moderate upgrade at the very least. However theres no way I'd roll on this over a feral druid. This is more or less like their version of bloodfang, it's convenient that it doesn't have a class restriction on it if there is no feral druids that want it. However people really should have some courtesy when it comes to looking at what another class can get out of a peice of loot they want. On this peice of gear it's obviously a feral druid that gets the most out of it. Go ahead... flame away. :p

Got this a couple of days ago, awesome bp. Graphic, though, sucks. It's just the old cenarion graphic but more of a yellow-green. Hopefully it gets a unique graphic so I don't have to wear my tabard to hide it.

Most rogues will realize this is utterly useless for them compared to a druid.
The day I got it only one rogue bid min DKP for it,
and 3 seconds later I got 3 whispers with something like "what is that guy thinking" ^^.

Even if no druid would want it, its probably still better for a off-warri than a rogue, but to each its own I guess.

This is much better for a druid then it is for a rogue, but i would still roll on it if I needed some better chest armor, And i wouldnt feel like a total ass weaing it because the only time I would roll on it is if there were no druids who needed it

Hmmm .. this is generally a feral druid item.
392 Armor * 3,6 ( Dire Bear ) = 1411 Armor 8).
A rogue would prefer a chest with agility or + crit! But an other reason why this is a druid item is the name .. hmmm MALFURION ( Stormrage ) Blessed Bulwark.. hmm .. let me remember .. malfurion stormrage ... wasn´t he one of the best rogues on kalimdor?

Well Vectorpup, if you're rogue is still in crappy greens by this time, HELL YEAH i would roll on it... its leather, period. Doesn't matter what freakin class you are, if the best armor you can wear is leather, and you have greens and see this? i'd roll too, no flaming for you :D

anyways.... but to the "Feral druids in BWL" >:( oh its on...>:( a warrior using this this should be hunter's marked and shot on sight. And if we could we'd take it(which i know we cant, so STFU) and give it to the feral druid who deserved it more... (Hunters know what's it like to be stuck with leather for a long time.) Anyways, this would be cool on a combat rogue. But if there's a druid in the raid, just let them go rabid on eachother. (Heh heh Ferals going rabid, yeah its stupid i know...)

Now, really people, YES ALL THE ROGUES AND WARRIORS ARE AWARE ITS A FERAL PEICE...

But frankly... if you're a warrior, you have plate, you can get better... i understand the flaming on warriors..

if you're a rogue though, and you run into this... i would roll too. Yes there's obviously that str vs agi when it comes to weapon damage, but still its a nice piece for say, a combat rogue. For the sheer fact for to sta increase, its awesome.

In fact if your a NE in general, just for the "i'm a night elf and have the most AWESOME CHESTPEICE THAT CAME OF THE GREATEST LEADER THE NIGHT ELVES HAVE EVER AND WILL EVER HAVE!" But then again, thats for fans of the Malfurion Lore. (DOWN WITH FANDRAL! >:@)

Rogue get nothing by strength, they should have agility or atk power, the damn cadaverous armor is better for rogue than this.
A druid get much more atk power by this (40 more than a rogue) and they get much more from the armor (3,6x more without feral specc)this armor give 1411 armor in bear for a druid without feral specc.

We're at Firemaw now, hopefully Ebonroc will be going down like a drunken prom date soon. I will definately be bidding massive DKP for this chestpeice. I would be happy for a rogue to outbid my Druid on it. That just means i get it cheaper next time around :-)

atm my druid wears complete volcanic set, great band of the tortoise (theres no ring of protection for alliance *sob*) and more stuff and i can hit 12k+ armor...together with pally aura and armor raising potions i can boost it even higher ...BUT with this armor thats seriously like 600~ ac more than volcanic + it has the awesome strength and stam bonus o_O... can anyone confirm that THIS is real? PLEASE SOMEONE :D

Why only Feral Druid U will get 1803,2 AC 220HP 80AP (5,71DPS) and that is Realy cool For all Druid if U will Wear this item and all other Standart caster items U will have realy good Defence abylity against all melee !

If you are a warrior, this thing = 80 AP! Not bad. Feral druids shouldnt be in BWL anyway.

AC on this is more mail like than leather anyways. Id not be ashamed to use it tbh. :P If it makes a feral druid cry, that is just a bonus.
