Heh, well, perhaps rogues can get one after all the warriors gets the set, although its a terrible waste, u'r better off getting better rings...

Oh and btw, lol "melee rogue"...

Wtf you thinking rogues.

As soon as you can equip a shield to make some use out of the "Increase chance to block with a shield by 2%", THEN you can roll.

I'm a Shaman, and I wouldnt dream of rolling, and I could actually use every bonus the set gives.

there's your set. Better rogue stats. I think bliz made a ring set for each class. No they arn't required that you take them, but as much as Shadowcraft isn't a feral druid set, and Valor isn't a pally set, this is a warrior (tank) ring set. Certainly we'll see many pallys wearing them if they want to tank (and horde might see shaman, if they tank, not sure how that works). And we will see the random non-tank wearing this (like my mage friend who wears cloak of warding to AE =D). But you can most likely find better stats for you class if you just look a bit harder.

We just downed bloodlord he dropped this ring, Really nice i was the main tank and i rolled a flipping 4 but there were 2 other warriors there and they both conceded and let me have it. both healing set rings dropped on our run also one from jek and one from overlord

Rogues/hunters please stop the nonsense. This is a tank ring first, everyone else second. If you can't see this please log off WoW now and pull out the Monopoly board.

Ok.... I'm a rogue.... and I will admit a bit greedy at times (gotta have my daggers).... but... there's no one else that should get this ring other than the tanks. Us rogues need to focus on bringing our dps up to better support the tanks, who need as much defense and armor as possible to keep from dying so the mob they are tanking doesn't turn around and one shot kill the rogue dps-ing it from behind. Come on guys, quit giving rogues an even worse name than we already have, I mean seriously.

Ive got this one from ZG and I say it's MT's ring only. Sta, Stg + def - they're MTs main stats. So WTF hunters and rogues are talking about its ring fro them? Agi? Lol, that way any class can consider it as their :/

I scored this ring inadvertantly on my druid (mostly feral specced) because the rest of the raid passed. Its actually a very nice feral ring, but obviously the set bonus of the two combined is useless to druids. Its fairly obvious that this set is designed as a tanking set, therefore warriors or even ret specced pallies could use it well, but rogues and hunters would rate well down the priority list. +Defence is an essential tanking stat, the dps classes have better equipment options available to maximise their other abilities and shouldn't focus on a ring like this too much

Howcome you guys are always flaming paladins? Maybe I missed it, but I haven't seen a paladin say that its better for a paladin then for a warrior...

Anyhow, I agree that warriors should get priority. But that doesn't really matter, cause most guilds use DKP systems. When using DKP, even a mage could buy it. It would just be plain stupid.

And uhm.... Be honoust... How many ZG PuG's do you really see?

Im a 60 prot pally and I hands down understand that this should always go to a tank that needs it but If no tanks need it it Im gonna roll :)

This should go to a prot warrior, prot pally, or feral druid, given that those are the three tanking classes. If your a warrior who just lost this item in a roll to a paladin or a bear, then BOOO FREAKING HOO. Your not the only tanks anymore, accept it.

Just FYI, they made significant improvements and changes to the Paladin Protection tree. Watch out, I've already tanked General Drak (UBRS) and Drek'Ther (AV General) and I don't even have tank gear yet. And almost all blues. And yes I kept aggro. Although Blizzard still has a ways to go with Paladin, things are definetly looking better.
Though I do understand the reasoning for Blizzard to make the Paladin a cleric rather then a true Paladin as they wanted the Warrior class to feel like it has a purpose and still be fun, its still upsetting for those of us who know what the Paladin class is supposed to be.
To some up the difference between Warrior and Paladin in a sentence, its the difference between a grunt Swordsman (War) and a veteran trained Knight (which is where the term Paladin comes from, a Holy Knight.)
But we'll live. Us Pally are fairly good at that :)

Overlord's Onyx Band dropped and I was the only one that needed it so I won it. Later on another warrior comes to replace one that had to leave. We down Mandokir and this ring drops. I rolled an 82 and thought I would complete this set in one night. Then the other warrior rolls a 98. Just my luck...

Told him after that I had the other ring from earlier. Said he would have passed on this one if he knew that. Oh well, I'll just have to kill this guy 1,000 more times for the ring.

YAY!

Just got this on my lev 60 War.

Did my first 20 or 40 man raid tonight with a PUG to ZG that started at 3am as i was about to go to bed. It was awesome - 4 bosses down - 6 deaths only in the entire run and a whopping 38s repair bill for me.

Five warriors but only three rolled for it (no other classes) and i won with a 48... sometimes it pays to stay up late.

A quality drop a warrior just moving up from BRD/Strat/Scholo/BRS runs.

Its kinda funny that Im the only warrior in our guild who has Heavy Dark Iron Ring and not a good ring to pair it. Now on my 12th ZG run I got this after all 4 other tanks got it before me. There really aren't better ring combo for general tanking as this + dark iron ring. Phat defense and good stamina, stats that you need.

from the 4th boss in ZG, the Bloodlord dude. Nice replacement for Band of Flesh. I really dont see any pickup groups having much success in this dungeon tho.

Nice tanking ring. Replaced my Band of Flesh. IMO one of the best drops in ZG for a tank.

I have this set. And I must say I think it is one of the finest tanking sets in the game. If not the best.

I am sure it could be argued that the Heavy Dark Iron Ring (20 sta 5 def) along with this ring is better for limiting crit chance, but my thinking is by wearing this set you improve dodge by 2%. (Not to mention, your chance to block goes up).

Any thoughts?

This amazing item drops of Bloodlord Mandokir. Mandokir is the third boss located in the Zul Gurrub Instance. He is not one of Hakkars high priests and does not have to be killed to kill fight Hakkar. He is located just past that of Venoxis, and up a large series of stairs.

We've taken this boss multiple times, I've only seen this ring drop 3x so far.
The night I got it was brutal, died 4x during the Mandokir battle (thank the gods for those spirits!) due to bad healing assignments!

With our DKP system down, it went to a /roll...I won it by 2, so I didn't complain about the 8g repair bill. But I did get some snickers over the Gollum impression over vent "MY PRECIOUS!" So now I have my eye on that lovely blade of his...
