Decent necklace. I took this for when I decide to use my Shaman as a mage in mail (Elemental).

Most will pass on this because the AQ necklace is much better.

This is a very good necklace if you're a priest looking to make +3% spell hit for Instructor Razuvious.

For just about anyone else, this is a very mediocre neck piece - easily outdamaged by a wide variety of gear available from 5mans or quests.

Chance to hit with spells is refering to resistances since they are raising the chance mobs have to resist classes of magic. this is also good in pvp cuz it's gonna really screw with resistance chance of players

this neck is a damn nice piece of equipment for either a Mage / Lock, or a PvPing "Moonkin Druid" or a "Shadow Priest" Priests dont need
+Crit% in PvP, as long as they only got one spell that can crit. but all of the spells he use can be "Resisted" so i find this much more usefull as if it had been +Crit%.

but anyways, i'dd let this go to a Lock / Mage anyday, if they didnt have something simlar as "Chocker of the Firelord" or such.

generally +hit is better for mages at least. This is because in the top end instances agro management is the main point so u use arcane subtlety with arcane missiles, but back to the point.

+1% crit will give u +50% dmg on 1 spell in 100.
+1% hit will give u +100%dmg of a spell in 100.

For some schools of magic the crit bonus is increased to 100% but my calculation is only based on arcane seeing as its the most used in bwl.

so for pve perpouses at least the hit is twice as good as a crit and thats not counting the chance that a crit will give u of overagroing at the very start of the fight.

i also missed: how is this item good for a priest? the tooth of gnarr from Drakki is better than this for a priest. Why would a priest need +hit? becuase of all those people that resist heals?

above someone said this is for healers... laff... that 1% hit is really usuful on healing, i wish my priest had it. im sick of people on my team resisting his heals...lol

well, i got this item last night as a priest and i am really glad about it. Nice amount of stamina, int and spirit and also nice to grind or farm some gold from mobs while using damage spells.

This is a great neck for a shadow priest. It has the right stats in the right ratio, and once you achieve a certain amount of spell power +% to hit is probably more favorable to you than anything. Why?
1 - It increases the chance that you land your offensive casts (more dps), making it more likely that you increase your target's shadow vulnerability (even more dps)
2 - It decreases the chance that Shadow Weaving, Blackout procs, Silence etc. will be resisted
3 - It doesn't make sense to stress +% to crit because only one of your key spells can crit (Mind Blast). If you could spam Mind Blast (if only), then +crit% would be worth it, but you can't, so that's that.
4 - Mind Flay and Mind Blast make somewhat inefficient use of +dmg; for example, you need to have roughly twice as much of it to achieve the same results that a fire mage gets on Fireball...

I think its nice to have a shadow priest on a raid. Its like a living Elixir of Shadow power for us locks :]. Only takes one spot and increases damage for locks pretty much.

7 intellect and 1 stamina shouldn't change Hakkar drop from Stratholme drop. Buff this item!

Oh well... Got this beauty tonight, pretty happy with it considering I won it on a roll! Sweet improvement from my previous necklace. (My guild doesn't use DKP for 20 mans)

as a 60 mage, i have a choker of enlightenment, and i find it much more useful in high lvl instances, just for the +dmg. this is just a plus 1% chance to hit with spells, quite useless for mage imo.

I would pass for this if any warlock wants it, because +1% to-hit is very useful in MC, banish... ;)

but for healers, its completely useless, or did ur party members ever resisted your healing spells...?

Well, as a mage, Choker of the Firelord would be nice, but this thing isnt bad at all... bad luck i wasnt there when it dropped last night on our first Hakkar kill...

Picked this up tonight, i'm loving the +hit gear i've accumulated through Jin'do's Judgement and this item, i'm starting top other mages damage because they get too many resists, while most of my spells hit.

I would have to disagree, if a 'lock has Dest base high enough for Ruin, all the + to crit you can get is needed. Great item in that respect.

It's more of a Hybrid class item, rather than a straight up caster. Mages and Locks will still be better off with +damage stuff like either of the Chokers.

We (Affliction, Horde, EU-Bladefist) gave ours to a Druid last night. Moonfire spam ftw ;)

I have it on my priest, no 1 wanted it
and it beat my old neck's stats.
too bad it ain't 1% crit and it will be changed
soon when i got enough stuff to summon silithius

stats r nice..oh well the +hit is only good for
pvp, now my mindblasts etc will resist less often
(I mainly heal in pvp also anyway so it's still
pretty useless)

I saved this from DE tonight. Even in PvP I can't even justify the 100 hp / 240 mana gain for the 22 damage loss from: Jeklik's Opaline Talisman Mage, btw.
