The map is correct. Once you find the "sunken city" with saltscale murlocs, look on the outside of the wall for the tablet, on the northern corner of the wall.

Don't get confused by the name. It is an ITEM, not a mob, which I feel is why most people can't find it.

This took me a little while too to find. Once you find the underwater city and find the glowing alter, you will see a premiter that looks like

Its in the wall, outside the wall! coming from the earth it is in -> side =)

It's located at 24,22 on the outside of the north-eastern wall.

Looks like it has been moved, still around there, but now it is within the inside part of the wall, very close to the purple/blue glowing shrine. Correct me if im wrong.. :D

You can get the tablet on both the inside and the outside of the wall. Did this on my 36 Hunter just now, no problems with aggro on the outside of the wall :)

I had a tough time with this one and only completed it by chance when another player was down there doing another quest and distracted the elite murlocs. I went down the first time and found the tablet but there were murlocs in the area so I don't understand how ppl were able to pull it off without aggro. I didn't even swim all the way down and was getting unwanted attention. I went back up and happen to find a player doing the alter quest so I waited for him to go down and then followed. He drew aggro and I went for the tablet. BUT...I barely made it to the surface. My breathbar went empty just as I hit the surface so most definitely come prepared or die on the way to the surface.

As of when, I don't know, but it is now inside the wall and guarded by 2 elite murlocks. I would suggest bringing a friend, maybe a warlock, because you will be down there for a bit.

I saw something interesting when i was down there... Its two of the same tablet! One outside the wall and one inside! Take the one outside and forget the murlocks!

2 = tablet OUTSIDE the wall ""Gri'lek the Wanderer""

Just swim from the shore near all the ruins where the other troll legends are to the larger of the 2 islands. In between the island and the shore you'll see the sunken city. Find the purple glowing alter. Orientate yourself so you're mirroring the map above. Swim down OUTSIDE the perimeter wall to the tablet. Et viola! No fights. No hassle. ;)

As a 34 druid, I found where the tablet was (the tablet outside the ruins) then went into cat form, stealthed down to it, shifted back into human, read the tablet, hit water form and was out, no problem, no attacks.

Its correct that's for sure but yes i had difficulty finding it... swim out to the sunken city... you'll see the Glowing Alter... (Square with a circular glow omitting from it) in the northern section of the City.... Upon finding this simply look in the North Western direction and Search the wall, where the gap is.. you'll find the Stone Tablet Labeled.."Gri'lek the wanderer" Its not a Mob its a stone tablet in the edge of the wall.

i have read most of the above posts and i got it on my first try with my lvl 34 rogue, all i had to do was stealth down to the outside tablet and BANG i was done, couldnt have done it without knowing where it was and how i could easily get it tho.

solod this as a lvl 35 mage. when i got there, i found a lvl 37+ and a 35+ guarding it. i polyed the 37+, killed the 35+ which a combination of fireball, fireblast and scorch, polyed the 37+ again, swam in, got my item and left. easy! =D

This was so hard that even the level 60 Paladin that helped me drowned and died. I just barely made it away with the tablet, as a level 35 (with a healing pot).
