All the Carapace's and Chitin are obtained non-bound from Skinning the Elite bugs in Silithus, currently they are the only things that give them but once 1.9 comes out AQ will probobly be a large source for them.

I have lvl 300 Skinning with an extra +5 Skinning on my gloves. This is relatively easy to get.

I found that in the Southwind Village after you kill a tortured druid or sentinel often one of the silithid spawn as a non elite. So I use them to provide an easy way to collect both the carapace and chitin.

dont know but i sold stack of 20 and they sold in AH for around 15g

They're used to make several things for LWing from CC faction patterns (mail stuff though). Spitfire, sandstalker and swiftflit bracers and such.

These are used by Leatherworkers for making Nature Resistance gear, which patterns you get by reputation from Cenarion Hold.
