You get these from skinning high level elite silithid in Silithus. The drop rate on these is pretty low, and they're used in the craftable mail NR items, so if you don't plan on using those craftables these can sell decently well on an AH if your server is working on AQ 40.
Most of the time when skinning these bugs, you'll just get Silithid Chitin or vendor trash.

Ok enough BS remarks.

All the Carapace's and Chitin are obtained non-bound from Skinning the Elite bugs in Silithus, currently they are the only things that give them but once 1.9 comes out AQ will probobly be a large source for them.

I did get 1 after 2 hours :/.
I got 5GS, 2ds, 3Marshal, and rhok delar, brutality blade, Main han of hakkari sword. Dwarf hunter (60)

Can anyone provide an observation about the frequency of drop rates between Zora, Ashi and Regal? To me it seems like Regal is a lil better for them.

They're from level 53-60 elites in Hives, so you need about that much skinning to get these. I'm too lazy to do the math, so someone else do it =P

After about 30-45 minutes of skinning I've only gotten one, but there was another skinner with me. Good luck.
