One of the four best Feral Druid drops in the game (Ghoul Skin Tunic > Malfurion's Blessed Bulwark, Thick Silithid Chestguard, Breastplate of Bloodthirst)

Rogues might want it, but since the Rogue sets are so nice it might be best to put on a druid.

This is generally an upgrade in overall usefulness when compared to Malfurions. It will probably allow the same damage mitigation as malfurions due to the agility adding roughly 1% to dodge, while losting about 140 AC. You're losing AP but gaining crit, which is more useful for grabbing aggro than AP is, plus you get a bit more stam. Really depends on your style though, if you're all about maxing AP ya, go for Malf's. I like to pump up agility/AC/AP/stam simultaneously, with emphasis on stam - so this is quite nice for my taste.

Malfurion is for pve damage dealing in CAT form. This is for tanking.

Crit% is extremely easy to get. As is stamina and AP, but the armor of Malfurions is untouchable. It gives you a huge amount of stamina and strength, plus with its enourmous AC count, it can free up other slots for items with your desired stats, that you wouldnt be able to consider before because of lackluster AC.

Look ot be just about the best tanking leather piece available for feral druids. Critting more generates more rage with talents, allowing you to cast maul more often and hoepfully crit more often. Nothing will pull a mob off of you ifyou crit maul often. Plus four to stats would rock for this chest piece. Its too bad narrow minded guilds won't let druids do anthing other than cast rejuvination and innervate priests. Its quite obvious... with the new genesis set that blizzard wants us to heal but also wants us to fill other roles when needed. If guilds had any lick of intelligence they'd take less warriors and rogues and take feral druids instead (of which have say full stormrage or other good healing gear). Ah well I guess if you're running AQ 40 to the twin emporers doing the same ole boring #$%^, why change?

you dont need to be resto to be a viable healer

infact being hotw/ns gives me the basics of the resto tree, while at the same time increasing my int (and therefore my manapool) BY 20%

if im wearing the same gear (and i have a full set of healing gear beleive me, its easier to collect than anything! ) i am completely able to heal mt/offtank/rajaxx encounter ANYTHING

having said that i go into aq20 to get my rep,help my guild and collect the LARGE NUMBER of GOOD FERAL PIECES IN THE INSTANCE. this happenes to be one of them. yeah im healing you right now. but that would be my permantent BP so toobad, im gonna roll on it > and guess what the rogues dont care!

(and for anywhiners that say we wouldnt be rolling. our guild has a point system for 40mans and we roll for loot on 20mans, who would want to keep 2 systems i mean really)

I can only agree. Rouges have their T0 set, which most druids are not allowed to roll on in random groups, the T1 and T2, which both serve their needs perfectly and only they can use.

This should clearly go to a druid, since we have no other choice.

And to those saying druids are only good for healing:
I often take the role of an offtank in MC even. It's some change from the usual, boring healing duty for me and a nice opportunity for our warriors to deal some heavy damage.

I think we're on the brink of a new wave of raids clearing MC and even BWL with alternative roles for several classes. On my server most successfull BWL raids use feral druids and shadow priests.
Hybrid classes, with several possible ways of playing in a raid like shamans, paladins, druids, warriors and priests, have great potential to overcome traditional role-models.

Druids tank endgame all the time. A druid has successfully tanked just about every encounter prior to Naxx and there are some, such as Hugehoss on Dark Iron, that are tanking in Naxx. Some bosses that just scream for a bear tank. The problem is that warriors scream bloody murder any time they see a bear. Then they try to say stuff like "you'll never get your defense high enough."

Bear tanking isn't about defense. In fact, bear tanking is an entirely different focus than what a warrior is used to. Our high HP and incredibly armor range easily offsets the fact that we can't get much defense gear. Since we can't block or parry, defense is mostly wasted on a bear anyway. The biggest problem is simply that there are so few healers and raids aren't accustomed to fighting with a bear (no 'DPS at 5 sunders' rule).

The math is solid and proves that bears are viable tanks. Do some research and troll again once you have the stats and math to back it up. The idea that bears don't generate enough aggro is absurd and flat false. Look at the math. In a long fight, like a boss fight, a druid will generate more aggro than a warrior over the length of the fight.

And yes, I've tanked endgame.

I took this over a guildie druid of mine. Noone complained at that point, but laterez i realized i was wrong. I feel bad now, as i'll get better eventually; at that point i saw good STAM and RESS stats only. That thaught me never to bid on druid/ rogue questionable lether piece again. We rogues got far more better gear in sets so passing onto a guildie druid of yours would be a good thing. Don't learn on your own mistakes and feel bad bout it laterez, like i did.

Better then malfurions for tanking as far as im concerned. More resistance, stamina and crit/dodge makes it all so sweet. The armor provides so little difference in damage mitigation in my case..

Ok, this thing is awsome for feral, im looking at it, malfurions is more armor but idk...this is a all around better feral piece (this is coming from a feral druid who is having to pvp for his gear) rogues, if your using SC, ill consider it...but if im there, ill eat your eyes

Actually for a druid in cat form it would be

57 attack power
1% crit (20 agil per crit for druid)

If you're a rogue with no hope of getting NS anytime soon, then I could understand rolling against a feral druid for it. Because Shadowcrap sucks real bad. But I would never drop my NS for this, even if I was pvp'ing 90% of the non-raiding time.

Plus my kittybear buddy would hurt me with his claws if I even tried :P

Malfurions Bullwerk has more Armor on it, but it remains a cat-armor due to the tonns of strength. this one seems to be the best tank-druid armor in the game so far. cant wait to get it and replace Malfurions with it.
