How far into the place do you need to go to find a Greater Coffer?

The keys from AQ20 does poof too when leaving instance or log out. Had one on me when I logged out inside AQ 20 and it was gone the next day

These keys can drop in AQ20 too. At the time of writing, they are *not* lost upon leaving the AQ20.

this key is for AQ40 only, the ones you find in AQ20 are called Scarab Coffer Key.

Would these happened to poof when you leave the instance or something like that? Because we got 4 our first night, and I know I didnt destroy them and you cant sell them, but now I dont have them.

Edit: YES. They do poof when you log or leave the instance. Very lame. The keys from AQ20 do not.

In order to prevent your raid from missing keys and therefore valuable coffers and idols, you can use the following two scripts:

This sets your raid's group loot threshold to include Whites, allowing you to see and roll on a key the moment it drops. Have everyone else but the assigned keeper of keys pass.
/script SetLootMethod("Group", "1");

This sets your raid's Masterloot threshold to include Whites, with the same principal as above. It requires the Master looter to be attentive, but resolves the same basic problem of needing some random person out of 40 to loot each body:
/script SetLootMethod("Master","Name","1");
