On Allakhazam, someone says it drops off Lord Valthalak, the drakonid you summon in UBRS for the last part of the Tier 0.5 set. I'm more willing to believe that than Gandling, as this is a clearly superior item to Don Mauricio's.

Just a thought. =)

This is a great ring for casters one of the best rare rings.

Drops from Valthalak hardest 10 man boss in game.

Whilst your post is a good advertisement for MPS... it has many flaws.

Firstly, the extra hit from 1% to hit cannot crit, which your post assumes. Thus you overvalue it. And secondly, when you equate it to frostbolts +dam coef - you forget that your crit rate will make you get more from +1 damage then the dam coef. Eg, with your 20% crit rate it would be 20% higher.

+damage raises the value of +crit and +hit, but likewise +crit raises the value of +dam.

It's from Lord Valthalak a new summoned boss in UBRS from the D2 quest line. You need to have the summoning piece from the quest. And once completed you can still summon this boss.

The strat to kill him is.....for you to find out. It took us a couple wipes and some Fraps review to figure this one out. There are a lot of aspects to this fight.

Lord Valthalak is the last summoned boss you need to kill in the tier 0.5 quest line.

the songstone of IF is from a long quest series in brd, where you need to kill the emperor but not the princess in the last step.

how does one summon this boss? where do i get the quest item and so on? could someone explain this please? :)

The Dungeon Set 2 also called Tier 0.5 is aquired through a fairly lengthy, somewhat difficult and expensive quest chain through which you upgrade Dungeon Set 1 pieces.
After completing Return to Bodley which is one part of the chain, you will recieve Brazier of Invocation: User's Manual and Brazier of Invocation.
The manual describes where the brazier can be used to summon a variety of bonus bosses with rare loot in the following dungeons:
